New numbers
« on: October 01, 2007, 03:12:43 pm »
Well i knew the numbers were going to go south, Stress is a big factor.
A ton of issues has been thrown in the mix as of late, hopefully by the end of the month things will ease up a bit. One can only hope.

All in all things are OK and Ive looked more things in the eye the last two months, Than i thought possible.

The good nurse Connie was thrilled to give old Lucas not one, but three shots today. Makes her day to poke me on my visits.

My i.d. doctor tells me all is well, and he thinks there is a big turn around in my mental health. nurse Connie thinks i have done very well taking the bull by the horns and dealing with things on my own, and getting some unpleasant things out of the way.

the socail worker is concerned about me being not so laid back and my present attitude, Truth be told I'm not sure what i may be capable of if push comes to shove.I had to promise him i would call him if i hit that point.

I have to let Nadine have her fun and post the numbers, and I'm sure she will have them up before nightfall

                                            Still alive and well

Lucas--

Don't sweat numbers.  Easier said than done, I know, but worry will not make them improve.

What you need is a mini-break.  Right now.  Seriously.

Down in my signature is a link to my space.  On the space, on the right-hand side is an internet radio.  There, I have made a Tull station.  Listen for a few minutes.  See if that doesn't help.

No, it ain't gonna solve every problem.  But it will take your mind somewhere else for a while, and that does help, even if only a little.

Hang in there, bro.  We are all behind you.

It's always hard when we come to the fork in the road and have to make a decision on where to turn, but it seems like you have made the right choice  and are now heading down the road you need, and want to be on...and with the lovely Nadine at your side it can only get better...thinking of you both

First I need to start by saying Brian had out patient surgery a week before his labs were drawn and I have been assured (Thanks RAB  :-*) that it is very possible that his numbers went down because of it.  I have been here long enough to know not to panic about these things.   :)

VL was not back yet...damn!
CD4's were 329
% is 19.2
In July his numbers took a big jump from April,  321 to 559
We'll get back up there next time!

Rab is absolutely right.  Surgery is basically an assault on the body and what t-cells we have have to go into overdrive to compensate for the loss of antibodies.  So keep that in mind.

Sorry about the stress thing.  It's not easy, I know.  Fall is here, the leaves are changing, there is a nip in the air.  See if that helps.

good luck, my friend....robert

Brian, my friend, you and Nadine are lucky to have each other.  Your numbers will most likely go up again.  I know there's been lots going on in your life.  I'll listen to some extra Oz tomorrow for ya! :-*  Seriously, I didn't know you were having surgery.  Of course that's going to cause a drop in the #s.  You sound like you're taking care of yourself though, and I'm sure Nadine is taking care of you also! ;)   Just take it easy on yourself, let yourself heal, and don't get overloaded with emotion and explode.  Definitely call that social worker if it gets to that point.  Anyway, see you on the other side! ;)

Nadine has posted the numbers from day one, before i came to the forums.
I was in denial, i just had to take a couple of pills a day.she talked to the doctors.
Then it hit, and i almost lost it.    I had h.i.v.

So i came here and read up on the virus, and the meds. Went to my last two visits with the i.d. doctor on my own. Had a out patient surgery now before it became a bigger issue.Trying to get on top of things,so Nadine didn't have to have the whole load dumped on her.

I expected the numbers to go south this time, due to everything going on.
Still have to have some rough dental work to be done this month, and a colonoscopy that scares the hell out of me.Rapid rod jokes that it would be just like a good night of sex for him ( thanks a lot rod) plus i went to see the regular doc last sat.
all in all its been a hell of a month.

But if i want to live to see the sun come up in the morning,Nadine gets to post the numbers.

Lucas, it may feel like a rough month for you, but what you're doing is to take care of your health now that you have decided to enter the battle. So yes, getting things back on track will be exhausting but in the end you're giving your body the opportunity to fight back. Keep up the good job.

Milker.

Brian even down you're still ahead of the 321 prior to April. They'll come back up. Stress and surgery is a big factor when it comes to your CD4. Would have been interesting to get your blood work a few days after AMG when you were still on cloud 9, stress free and full of love and positive energy.

Hugs

Hey buddy,

Glad to hear you are doing okay.  Your numbers will sure go up once your body recovers from surgery...Rab is correct...your body will bounce back, even if you did not have HIV, your body would still drop some CD4's as it fights off any infection it may enter the body during surgery..it is normal.
As far as the stress, try to relax, find something that you enjoy doing and that brings you peace of mind, that helps...otherwise, I wish I could send you one of my Cheech and Chung's joints in the mail ( that would sure help you relax...LOL)
I am glad we met at AMG, you and Nadine are such wonderful people...
I love you both
