I am under alot of Stress
« on: January 19, 2009, 11:51:22 pm »
Hi! Everyone

There is a question which bothers me alot.I am under alot of stress. I wonder if I got infected with HIV or not.Should I get tested? About six months ago, I had a protected sex with a female sex worker both orally and vaginally in China.I wore condoms because she said she had a flu. Only during rimming, she inserted her tongue into my anal. After about two weeks of the sex, I had a small fever and cough(throat itching) for a few days. My doctor perscribe some antibotics. The symptons went away. This week, I have these following symptoms.fatigue,Joint pains, lymph swelling, high blood pressure.I lost a few pounds, but not alot. Are these signs of HIV? Please help me! I am going nuts with it. Is it possible that I am infected with HIV. I got scared when I read those HIV information. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

At no time were you ever at risk of contracting HIV. You had protected sex and rimming is not a risk for HIV transmission.

One more question. The symptoms that I have are so similar to the symptoms of HIV. Should  I be worried and get tested?

At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV. No testing required for this situation. It is suggested that anyone that is sexually active be tested annually for HIV and STDs. Keep using condoms.

Nothing you did put you at risk for HIV transmission. As long as you always use a latex condom for vaginal and/or anal sex you are well protected sexually in relation to HIV. All other sexual activities are risky only in theory. In real life transmission has been proven to happen only through unprotected intercourse.

Thank You so much for all your replying. HIV symptoms are too common in our daily life. It's hard to tell whether you got it or not.

sb,

If you make sure you use condoms, you won't have to worry about symptoms.

Thanks alot! You guys are life savers. I could not sleep recently because of those symptoms. The more symptoms information online about HIV I see, the more I worried. I am very sure that I used the condoms during the intercourse and see no sign of condoms breaking.

One more question. If a male had an unprotected sex with a female, but pull out before ejaculation. If there a chance that the female could get HIV? Assume male has HIV.

Yes, you don't need ejaculation to transmit HIV or other STDs.

Is there anyway to tell the condom was broken or not? If the semen were inside of the condom, this means fine, right?

Had the condom failed you would have known without a doubt.

I am still a little bit worried. However, All the symptoms are gone. Is it OK to do a HIV rapid test in the clinic? Is it accurate since the event happened almost three months? I don't see sign of condoms broken. Just want to remove the worrysome.

If you need to test for peace of mind you can go ahead and do that. Hopefully the inevitable negative result will allow you to give up this unnecessary worrying.

Cheers.

You're very welcome. We're happy about your negative result. Protect it by always without exception using condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse.

Cheers.
