Minor blip...has me concerned
« on: May 13, 2013, 07:10:28 pm »
Hello,

So my latest results showed I went from UD to 53.  But my cd4 raised about ten points...and I got my first cd%...26%...which I guess isn't too bad...but I don't know much about percentages...would love to know a little more with specific reference to my numbers...
Thanks,
John

53 should, clinically, still be considered undetectable and it should return to the lower reading next visit. It's just something that happens to everyone at some point. A blip really is a number higher probably more around 500 in which case the doctor would retest you to rule out a lab error or whatnot.

The cd4 "actual" number going up 10 means nothing. They can easily go up or down by 100. Basically there's been no change in your numbers since September, but considering what your numbers were when diagnosed you're doing great.
