I have no business eating ribs ... I neglected to go back to the doctor for a check up after getting treatment for H pylori and ulcers and now they are back with a vengeance .

The ribs are dry rubbed and smoked with hickory for 3 hours and then wrapped in foil and cooked for another hour until fall off the bone tender . I am going to eat all of them just to keep yall from gettin em ... so there .

I haven't cooked ribs in a BBQ manner in almost 20 years, but I there is a rib stall at Reading Terminal Market so I get a platter to go with mac & cheese and cole slaw sometimes.

However, I often buy boneless pork ribs and cook them in a cast iron casserole with a balsamic glaze and eat them with garlic and thyme roasted potatoes... you know how us Northern girls are. :P along with a couple glasses of Tempranillo.

I have two "fresh pastured" thick pork chops from the farmers market that I plan to find a demi-glace recipe for.

It's a little known fact that the difference between eastern NC style BBQ and south side Virginia BBQ is that instead of pulled pork Virginians mince it. Then you eat it on a fluffy dinner roll with cole slaw, also minced.

You must have this with a Limeade (divine!) followed by strawberry pie.

I love ribs but the past several years they are too much for my gut. >:( I still have them once or twice a year anyway and suffer the consequences.

Tonight is BLT night. Another once or twice yearly meal for the same reason but darn it all, I finally got two beautiful ripe heirloom Brandywine tomatoes. Served on lightly toasted sourdough bread w/mayo and lightly dressed spring greens.

Update . I just had some ribs and they were better than I ever have had in a restaurant .

I make ribs all the time but not in the smoker I used today. I usually smoke fish or chicken and Boston butt in this smoker ... the thing that makes them tender is to smoke them for two hours or more and then tin foil them for two hours . I am bragging I guess but its because they are amazing .

We have 2 bbq's. 1 for the carnivores (i.e. everyone else in my fam) and 1 for meeeee.
My visiting nephew decided to save on charcoal and only lit one.
Now my bbq has been contaminated, CONTAMINATED !

Carnivores 2 / Moi 0.
Coffee and peanuts for dinner tonight. Gotta load up on the protein.

Oh the humanity !!

Well to be honest, being a long-time metrosexual, the primping and preening typically take a couple of hours daily, add another hour if I've got somewhere to go (like Walmart or Targèt).

As for the 'do', the hairdresser has become a keepsake.

Wardrobe, comes easily. housecoats are so simple but I'm spoilt by choice.

Potions and lotions ?, don't even go there girlfriend.

IN 1967 I was a toddler victim of kidnapping at Expo 67 in Montreal. A commune of hippies adducted me to live in their yurt in an industrial zone. A couple of them had jobs in the pavilions.  I stayed at the commune for 2 days then they said I got crabby and sad so they took me to the Haiti Pavilion where someone was working and could watch me.
They were dull and I wandered away and made my way to the beer tents at the West German Pavilion.  I was having a grand time but the shrewd germans had me reunited with my family within an hour.
