I still can't believe above lighting, shaving his chest and facial hair, tanning, and oiling up caused him to go from average to six-pack fitness buff.  I know lighting is key to a good photo.  But, I was surprised he could go from looking a little pudgy to having a six pack.  Celebrities will have body tanning gunk sprayed on their stomachs, to make it look like they have a six pack.

They demonstrated this technique in the movie "Bigger, Stronger, Faster." The results can be dramatic and Photoshop is not even necessary.

Speaking of Grindr pics, do people still use other people's photos to attract guys? I remember back in the 80s it wasn't uncommon for guys to do that online.

I dont think people masquerade like they used to at the beginning of the inter tubes but occasionally, yes.  Also, there are over photoshopped pictures that look very 2000 to me.  Most people just go with a selfie and call it a day.  Unfortunately, here in middle Europe, seems like a quarter of these grindr selfies are headless torsos, and 50% of the headless torsos write the idiotic "face pic with first message for reply".

On the internet cruise sites, there are still lots of guys with 15 year old pics. Same pics they had years ago. Geez, we remember them, guys!

I saw a guy on the chat the other day - we used to be irregular fbuddies well over 10 years ago, more like 15, when at the time I estimated he was around 25.  I noticed him around over the years, not often since he had since moved to eastern europe. Always still dressing rather young and it looked like his face was polished somehow. 

Anyhow I said on the chat the other day, hi how are you doing. I wasnt expecting to screw with him again, but was curious what kind of guy he'd become.

He responded, "please read the age restrictions and respect them".  So I read the age restrictions. He claimed to be 27 and was interested in 18-27.  27! And was now hungarian not Swiss. He was masquerading as a "young" hungarian skater type...

Another popular delusion is recent pics that don't match advertised age.

So finally I know many guys around 50 who are still claiming 40 and using old pics (one is still using his beach photo at 35yso, fetching as it is, so clearly taken with some ancient apparatus from another century).

And i know other guys around 55-60 who put out their 60yo faces, god bless them, but write 45 or 50 in their profiles.



Maybe the cruise tech companies should give incentives, like cupcakes one a year to the hot daddies who are honest about the whole package.

He said 75% of the time they ended up having sex anyway; "if I can get them in the door I can usually close the deal." I passed on the sex but the conversation was worth the trip.

Buckmark--I don't know of any girls that use old pictures (I'm sure there is though) but plenty of straight guys that do.  Not sure why but they do.

My friend just had this happen.  The guy used a much older photo.  But, he got my friend to let him give him oral.  So, it works.  It happened to me many years ago.  I was 18 and I went to this guy's house, who said he was like 26.  Well, he was 60.  It would have been like having sex with my grandfather, at that point.  I was upset he lied.  I asked him what he thought would happen.  He said it works 50% of the time. 

I remember when I was 17 and 18, I would sometimes say I was 21.  I was sneaking into the bars, which didn't card much back then.  I didn't want word getting around I wasn't 21.  It is odd I was adding years on then.  Today, I would be tempted to shave a few off.  What age do you think I could get away with?  Wait, perhaps I don't want to know.

I never stayed upon discovery of a sham.  Never had much interest in discussing with such people either. "This doesn't work for me" and an about face.

Too much information coming - like some others (?) I am occasionally lured to an assignation based on promised body parts, and/or sex acts, ones which are not revealed at the door.... 

Ah ha, then what do you do when the sham is revealed? 

I guess its important to remember that it REALLY isn't a supermarket, it is two imperfect humans trying to get laid, get some contact.   

Hopefully you can just laugh at it, probably the best resolution to such disappointing meetings.
