Stupid fucking pills.
It seems I've been taking too much Truvada.
Or not enough. I can't tell.
Does anybody else get similarly confuzzled?

Matty after all the shit you've put in your body and you're still walking an extra dose of Truvada isn't going to phase you.. We talking meds not men. ;)

I'm surprised none of your gentleman callers have given you a gilded pill box with a different gem for each day of the week.
Just please don"t tell me you have an assortment of prescription bottles scattered across your nightstand.

Remember you gave him the day off to visit his infirmed mother.
He'll be back soon and help you return to the proper med dosage schedule.

Mine are arrainged in order. Two horse pills, an asprin, a little football and two tsps of shit tasting oral solution that you would never forget taking it. You gag when you start taking the lid off the bottle.

Actually no, I don't -- even when I'm on Klonnie Kloud #9 I can still dole out my HIV meds accurately twice a day, without the need for a plebeian pill box. You need to man up, sista.

Yeah. I'm either missing doses or taking too much on a weekly basis. Last week I realised I took them twice (I'm on Reyataz, Truvada). I lived, though my stomach was a bit queezy for about an hour or so.

Don't ya hate it when that happens? I find that when there is any change in my morning routine, I have difficulty with my meds. I also have the problem of not remembering if I've taken my pills (at night). It really helps when there is someone else that can help remind you and vice versa.

Ver, I don't think one extra pill should be something to fret about. Lots of kiddies round here take double doses of Atripla by mistake and they've lived to tell.
Then again, Matty has been absent since 6 a.m., maybe I responded to his survey too soon. Can I change my answer?

It won't hurt or kill you, sometimes I forget and take 2 Truvada's in one day, I've been on this for the last 3 to 4 yrs now, and I'm not DEAD yet :D

The problem with these meds is that you never know how they are going to affect you. It's all personal.

I've taken extra doses of Epzicom on occasion. I usually find, that when I take the extra dose, it's because I just woke up, and I am sometimes confused whether it's AM or PM. ( My room is completely blacked out, so I can sleep during the day, and work at night.)
Even with a pill box, I can make this error. I'm confused when I wake, I think it's the next day, and I'll take the next day dose.
To help prevent this for me, I won't take any medication, until I shower, and know that I am awake ! Works for me.

Other than that... I think if you are exposed to sunshine all the hair on your body will fall out, your ass will pucker, and you will start going "oink oink suuueeeee". So you should stay in a dark place and make those mating noises. :)

Several times Ive taken my Tru in the morning (when im supposed to take it at night). It really pisses me off cause it wrecks my whole day (psychological). So afterwards for the next 10 or so days I push my Tru taking back an hour and eventually im back to night time with it.
Of course the pill boxes are a great help, but sometimes I forget to re load them and I start just dosing from the bottles which is where I get screwed up. Hell ive been dosing out of the bottles for the last week or so....perhaps right now I will reload the 'ol pill box.

It is a pain in the ass to reload those pillboxes every week (Sunday evening for me...in fact, just finished.) But when I don't do it and try to dose from the bottle, I always get messed up. Missed my Atripla for the first time ever this week and it was because I was too lazy to fill the pillbox and used the bottle. Simple stategy...I guess most of us are in the same boat!

I find filling the pill box once a week much easier than opening 7 bottles, one of which is in the fridge, 7 times a week.

When you take 12 drugs daily, a pill box is the only way to go.

If I'm in a conversation with someone or watching a very interesting show and take my pills (non-HIV pills), I will often wonder whether I took them or not.
The other thing I've done is taking or trying to take pills in my sleep. After my back surgery, I would often wake up with a pill in my hand clutched very tightly. I must have been in pain and thought I'd get up for a drink but never did. I think I've told that before. I swear I wasn't strung out on pills.

I'm with you. I spend less than 10 minutes each Sunday filling 2 pillboxes for the week. I simply sit on the bed with something on the television and do it. I don't understand how people find this a nuisance (well, beyond the nuisance of needing to take any pills on a regular basis). Once filled I know that I'm set for the week -- I will always know if I have or have not taken my morning or evening pills.

I have two pill boxes so I only have to do the refill process every two weeks. It's really not that bad but I only have 3 HIV pills and 3 supplements to worry about. Regarding taking the pills, I have phone alarm set and snooze it until I have actually put the pills into my mouth.

It happened the same to me! I have to take 2 kaletra + 1 Truvada in the morning and 2 kaletra alone in the evening and even if I prepare each sunday evening the two different shape pill boxes, if I am excited and don't have my mind that looks carefull to what I am doing I take the wrong box! I'm a mess! My doctor said that if it happens only very occasionally it's not a problem, that is better one more than one less. A big hug, Lyla

And provided you carry you cell at all times, and it is always charged. Oh, and that you don't sleep too deeply and actually hear it, too ...
Re: the original post, last week I took 3 travadas in a 32 hour period. It was intentional, though, due to flying back from France and a 9 hr time difference. If I hadn't done that I would have missed a dose (waiting more than 24 hrs) due to sleep.
I can report significant diarrhea the day I did that, but it had already started before my return flight, so it may not be related. However it sure took a long time to resolve.
