X Factor

I hear its not the smash success but I enjoyed the first two shows.

Its really super well produced and very much tugged my emotions a number of times.

(I suspect half the bad acts are hired actors.)

Its feels classic to watch Abdul and Cowell together again and L.A. Reid as a judge is nothing to sneeze at.

In Miami they gave a quick yes to that crazy 50 something music teacher. The show knows how to produce good entertainment for a season.

I like this show better than American Idol.  It has more people making fools of themselves.  Did anyone see the guy who sounded exactly like James Brown?  Simon cut him off prematurely and it looked like the  guy was going to be rejected back to his homeless lifestyle back in Tennessee.  Simon just didn't like the fact that the guy was doing an impression of James Brown-- telling him that he wanted to hear his own style instead of the Godfather of soul, thus giving him 15 seconds to come up with something.

The guy dug deep.... the screen filled with emotion started showing what the poor guy went through on the streets.  With tears filling his eyes, and lips trembling-- it really left you wondering what the guy was going to do.

Then the guy did the best James Brown impression I have ever heard.  They accepted him and he gets another chance to do it again this week.  I started thinkinng--I can do one hell of a Sonny Bono impression, bloody head and all.

Must have had some very hard knocks since.  I thought the x factor audition was riveting.

Yeah, I liked him too.  Kinda reminded me of a driver I had that was the organ player for Cameo.... hard knocks knocked them down... :-\

What exactly is it with her?  The gossips used to say she was an alcoholic.  I saw her promoting this new show on Letterman.  She seems sober, and yet not.  Is she simply a space cadet?
You know you are old when you never heard of Hydrocodones....  So painkillers huh?

Loved the guy who did the Radiohead song last night. Extraordinarily weird, but so amazingly awesome.

I always imagine that Simon Cowell gives off toxic fumes far worse than the Axe sprays his male contestants shower in.

I am convinced he smells like Guerlain Terracotta bronzer, burnt hair, hairgel, Bulgari Black, testosterone, smegma and soap, vinegar and cigarettes.  Paula maybe got brain damage years ago being too close to him.

The fifteen minutes that I watched of this show were rather boring --and utterly melodramatic.  It's going to take a while for this to become a solid hit.
"I have tried hard--but life is difficult, and I am a very useless person. I can hardly be said to have an independent existence. I was just a screw or a cog in the great machine I called life, and when I dropped out of it I found I was of no use anywhere else."
