am I infected? please help!

About a week ago, I had an exposure with a transsexual. Before we played, I asked her twice if she is disease free, she said YES. We performed oral sex to each other; both of us wore condoms when we were performing oral. Then I topped her for about 1 min with condom. Before I topped her, she put lubricant on her anal. After that, she changed a new condom for me and she started performing masturbation on me. At last, I rubbed my penis with the condom on against her anal for about a minute and came in the condom. The condom seems intact. Do you see any exposure to HIV? This is the only single incident that I have had. Is it necessary for me to test for HIV or STD because of this incident? I am a married guy. I don’t want anything happens to my wife. I am really worried about it. My last question: Is HIV very easy to transmit through sex? Thanks!

HIV is extremely difficult to transmit. If you wear a condom for penetrative sex you will avoid it. Other STDs are far more easily transmitted.

Btw, asking someones HIV status is ridiculous. People might not know. People might lie. Just assume each partner is positive and wear a condom. That way you won't be offending anyone and will remain HIV.  negative.

I agree with Rodney and JK - you did NOT have a risk for hiv infection.

Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection when playing outside your marriage:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions! As JK mentioned, there's no point in asking someone about their sexual health. Many people do not know they are infected with hiv (or syphilis, gonorrhea or any other STI) and some people will lie. Use condoms and it won't matter.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse outside your marriage, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
