Seeking Lymphoma Answers

Hi All. Well, of course chugging along just fine and then about two weeks ago, get into the shower and boom, find a lump in my groin, ACK! So I go to my doctor, they do a deep needle biopsy and find extra B cells. Okay, on to the Oncologist, do a biopsy of the lymph node, bone marrow aspiration (sp), and just yesterday PET scan. Ugg, the nightmare and online research does not help! I swear web MD was made for people who want to read about people with a death sentence. None the less, just try to reach out to others who have gone through this. It is a real scary time and the just not knowing yet is the worse. I know this is beatable and I know Chemo is going to zap me, but just want a little conformation that this is going to be okay. Its a lonely world sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear about this.  Now, you don't know whether this is lymphoma.  I know, this statement is strange coming from me--someone who would totally freak out. 

I'm kinda surprised your doc jumped right on this.  I would think most docs would dismiss a swollen gland in someone with HIV as nothing unusual.  Sending positive energy your way that it is nothing.  Keep us posted on what you learn.
