HIV treatment in Hong Kong

Hi,  I was hoping if someone knows if expatriates can get hiv treatment while living in Hong Kong.  I heard Queen Elizabeth hospital offers care, but I am wondering if it is only for native Hong Kongers or can expats seek treatment?  Anyone with info would be a great help.

Hi, i am not very sure of this answer, but i have found a document on internet with an Overview of the HIV/AIDS Situation and the Programmes on its Prevention, Care and Control in Hong Kong

there is a PDF file with the names of some AIDS Ngos and also mentions a hotline you might call and perhaps they can give you some advice.

I just got diagnosed and i have made an appointment in kowloon bay clinic. I believe they are for everyone, both HK residents and expats...i m also concerned about finding a support group for expats. I lived in the US in the past, where people are more understanding regarding HIV. Now i am quite worried about finding people with similar background in the support group. i have found a counselling services for expat...it helps a lot.

Hi, glad you found counselling services for expats, i know how difficult some things are while being expat. Try to get the most help you can, talking to other poz patients is a good way to handle the diagnosis and it will provide you more info about the health care in there. Keep us updated.
