Some questions about my blood draw yesterday...
« on: January 09, 2007, 11:30:16 am »

Yesterday I had a blood draw at my clinic.   This is the first one since starting my meds on November 15.  I am being quite optimistic here and judging on how I feel I think I should have some favorable results.   I will consider anything above my last labs Cd4 137 Vl 8,000  and 13.3 % to be good.

They gave me a paper that lists the tests done.  I am a little disappointed that they did not do a lipid panel.  Some of them I am aware of what they are, while some I am not.  I was wondering if anyone could explain the ones I put question marks by.  The list is as follows:

   CBC w/differential : ?????
   CD4 / CD 8 : I know
   Comp metabolic panel 14: ????
RPR/ Confirm if RPR reactive: ????
Viral Load, Ultra RNA, Quan. : I know

Any help and schooling here is much appreciated :)

Hey Thomas -

Good luck with the results - hope they are great for you.

Here is a link to a site where you can enter lab abbreviations and look up other info as another resource beyond the great experts we have here at aidsmeds.
