Help with Marinol
« on: September 01, 2007, 03:07:28 am »
I am helping a friend access Marinol.  It is not available here in Australia.  We are most of the way through the paperwork for approval from the Department of Health, and once this is sorted we can order the Marinal from overseas.

My friend finds this process very difficult so I am doing the research for him.  We are nearing the point of being able to place the order, but I can't seem to find out where I need to order the drug from, and how.  His doc dosn't know, dept of health don't know, our local fag/poz pharmacy don't know and I certainly don't know.

Can anybody offer wisdom?

(I'm not sure if this is in the right topic area, but I thought I would try here)

I'm not very sure about Australia laws and Drug availability but you should certainly be able to contact the manufacturer at their website and get information regarding it's dispersion to the Region.

Hope that it is some help.  :)

Hello,
Just my opinion..but from what I have been told, in Marinol vs. Marijana for help with nausea, pain, anxiety problems. Marijana seems to help people more.

I tried Marinol for a few months, and when it did not help, my health team recommended (off the record) that I might want to try using pot. I did not try pot because I was afraid I would get arrested, and I have had pcp, and don't want to add to the lung scaring.

Only my opinion, but if it is easier for you to obtain pot, I would try that first instead of fighting the bureaucratic nightmare of drug access.

Also, have your friend ask his doctor about Aloxi. It is a nausea drug used for chemo patients that is starting to be used for hiv nausea. It is the only nausea drug that helped me 100%. Zofran also helped somewhat, but nowhere near the level of Aloxi.
