I'm worn out and can't take any more!
« on: November 14, 2010, 10:01:07 pm »
I just completed a five hour marathon of The A-List: NYC on Logo.  Calgon take me away!

Somehow I'd managed to shun it for five weeks, but I watched half of an episode late last night trying to get to sleep and got hooked.  These girls are tragic!

I watched it too and it comes across as totally fake and scripted. Much more than most reality shows. Every gay stereotype is in abundance. If these queens are the A gays of NYC the city is in deep do-do. No wonder Lance dumped that tool Reichen. Their apartments are much too tragic to be high society mo's and not one of the bitches work.

I agree with most all that you just said, but it's also why it's so funny to watch and read them all.  Alcohol consumption helps.

Oh it's watchable, but the editing is really piss-poor and predictable. Gee, I wonder if Austin is going to show up to another party he wasn't invited to?

Gee, I wonder if Austin is going to show up to another party he wasn't invited to?

They keep hinting that he's hung like a horse, so I'm sure that keeps him from being completely banished from the A-List kingdom.  Anyway, Derek is the real atrocity.

Odd that they don't show anyone snorting coke on the show, don't you think?

Also, consider the demographics of NYC, and with the exception of doe-eyed Rodiney, they should call this The Unbearable Whiteness of Being.

No need to download, just go to their website:

http://www.logotv.com/shows/the_a_list_new_york/series.jhtml

No geofilter apparently. I can watch it in Asia.

And no, no more TV marathon for me for a while. Just did that last week with "Breaking Bad", which I only heard of and didn't watch even when they were showing the first season recently on free TV here.

One episode and I was HOOKED! Guess it sort of reflects a lot about me that I identify a lot with the Bryan Cranston's character..  :P

The last marathon I did was shame to admit it Gossip Girl which I delayed two seasons before finally watching and then Had to watch it all night.
Then after one season was in and out of my system, I never felt the need to see another.  But it was a cheap sugary high.

The best looking thing I've seen on there thus far was Roberto, the Bolivian guy who stood up Derek twice.  Obviously he was also smart.

They knew each other all of 5 minutes and Derek invited him out to meet the mom.  Roberto didn't show up and just sent a one word text: "Sorry".  But all was not lost.  TJ showed up.

And by the way, I dint believe Rodiney is 5'11'.  But no matter - its the strong love between him and Reichen that will keep viewers glued to their sets.  Maybe he'll get a job, too!  He is aspiring to do a 2011 calendar and perhaps be a club promoter.

I don't believe that Rodiney's only slept with two men in his life either.  I bet his armpits really do smell like a field of flowers in Maine though. :P

You think any of the A listers will contract AIDS anytime in the future or is that too depressing to contemplate for such handsome, well connected young men?  Just wondering....................

I tried to watch the show but only ended up gagging on it....Gays with some money who has nothing better to do with themselves other than talk shit about each other...Logo can do much better. The only marathons I watched from there was Buffy the Vampire Slayer and RuPaul's Drag U. And Drag U was a bit of a let down. Hope Season 3 of Drag Race will be better than Drag U.

I know what a reality show is luv, just that it is not worth the air I breathe to laugh at them especially when I find them more pathetic than anything. Would rather watch the real housewives of atlanta...

I have never seen "The A-list" but my partner asked my to record the "Housewives of Beverly Hills" and I saw it for the first time last week. The show actually made me angry! This trophy wife spent $60,000 on a birthday party for her 4-year-old daughter. Not only was this party grossly excessive it was completely inappropriate for a young child. This woman, who has nannies raising her kids, obviously has no idea what would interest a child, much less her daughter. What does the mom buy her for her birthday? An expensive diamond neckless. No 4-year-old gives a rat's ass about a diamond neckless! Mom also gets upset because the girl doesn't appreciate the $6,000 she spent on table flowers and that the little girl finds the live bar band scary. The entire champaign affair was transparently about showing how much money she had. Good thing this woman has money for professionals to raise her daughter because she is clueless.

It's a reality show dear -- you're supposed to laugh at them, not with them.

Reality Shows are so dated, at least the concept is......come on, why can't they come up with something else after 12 yrs. of Reality Show TV-Hell, I've gotten to the point where what's on TV, aint worth watching anymore  ??? EDITED to add, and if you count MTVs Real World, Reality Shows, are actually older than 12 yrs.

Those triflin' hoes need to be put out of their misery.

Aww come on, the only one trifling on the show is Phaedra, a lawyer who is pregnant and doesn't seem to know when her due date is. Her younger hubs was also in jail when she first became pregnant but she swears it is his. Ok, Kim is a little trifling too being the golddigger she is and because she had an one hit wonder, Tardy for the Party, which to me was lame, she swears she is a recording artist now. I also get my fag hag fix because they have Dwight and Lawrence on there. Much better than some preppy gay white boys who's only thought is who is boning who...*smh*

Thats exactly why I can't watch that show...The things they whine about and the money they spend on nonsense is just a bit much and pisses me off to no end.

Ditto! Unfortunately, they're never going to go away. The money they make on the commercials for these "voyeur" shows is staggering. The shows that give away a million dollars to the winner make that much in the first half hour of the first episode. They are cash cows.
