Vaccinations
« on: November 15, 2016, 12:03:24 am »
I've just been for a job interview at a health clinic.

The successful applicant will need a long list of vaccinations or evidence of Immunity, or a letter from their doctor giving a contraindication exemption.
Some of them are ok, but others have my head spinning...

Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis no contraindication

Hepatitis B - I've had 6 jabs in the past and never developed immunity, guess I have to try again.

Measles Mump and Rubella, this is contraindicated for HIV patients with 'severe immune suppression'  how severe is severe? Will a cd4 count of 140 knock me out of contention?

Varicella (chickenpox - same as MMR

Off to my doctor tomorrow, fun fun fun

I guess your Doctor should have some insight about it all...after all they too work in that setting! They should also be able to provide you with any documentary evidence required. I would be surprised if they would discriminate against anyone living with HIV who was unable to have a particular vaccine however.

Good luck with the job application though Harley :)
