Please I need some help

I just wanna say thanks everyone and especially the admin for this page! It a blessing really!!
so tell you my story, two weeks ago I had unprotected Oral sex with a girl who is my age (18 years old, and studies at college...), but we had protected sex with a condom (and i checked after it didn't break).
So after one week i realized what if she is HIV+ and i performed oral on her, so I am freaking out now. Just to note, i asked her and she told me she is clean, but i don't trust her that much!
Now its the 2ND week, i have a fever (38.5 degrees)  also i have diarrhea its the 2ND day now, and I am freaking out. I cant study or concentrate or do anything! I went to the clinic and asked the nurse to do me an exam on the first week (i know its useless, but i was freaking out!!) it was negative, and she told me to get another one after 6-8 weeks, but that's a lot of time! I cant live like this anymore not even for one more month!
its killing me guys!!
What the risk of getting HIV from this encounter? (i don't have mouth herpes, and i don't think i had bleeding gums at that time!) I know your gonna say low, but how low, and what are these symptoms i am having?
I never have fever (maybe once a year!). what do you think?

Cunnilingus is not a risk for HIV and you do not need to test over this specific incident .
HIV is sexually transmitted from unprotected anal and vaginal sex so there was no risk in this situation because you did the right thing and used condoms for vaginal sex .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

And regarding the symptoms, you dont think they are HIV related? They might be another STD or just a regular fever?
And have you heard of a case before where cunnilingus actually transmitted HIV?

I'm also clean, and you can trust me on that because I just got out of the shower. I am, however, hiv positive as well. Please don't use that term here again to describe someone's sexual health status, even if it's the term they themselves used. It's offensive.

You did the ONLY thing you needed to do in order to avoid hiv infection - you used a condom for vaginal (or anal) intercourse.

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

Giving a woman oral also isn't a risk. Hiv transmission doesn't stand a chance of happening via female genitals to mouth - there are just too many obstacles on the oral route.

The first obstacle is the mouth itself. The mouth is a veritable fortress, standing against all sorts of pathogens we come into contact with every minute of our lives. It's a very hostile environment and saliva has been shown to contain over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv.

Hiv is a very fragile virus - literally. Its outer surface doesn't take kindly to changes in its preferred environment; slight changes in temperature, moisture content and pH levels all damage the outer surface. Importantly, it needs this outer surface to be intact before it can latch onto a few, very specific cell types and infect. 

Which leads to the second obstacle. Hiv can only latch onto certain types of cells, cells which are not found in abundance in the mouth.

The third obstacle to transmission this way is having hiv present in the first place. The female secretion where hiv has been shown to be present is the cervicovaginal fluid. This fluid is actually a thick mucus that covers and protects the cervix.

The fluid a woman produces when sexually excited comes from the Bartholin's glands, located on either side of the vaginal opening. I have yet to discover one shred of evidence (and believe me, I've looked) that shows this lubricating fluid to have any more hiv present than other bodily secretions such as saliva, sweat or tears. Saliva, sweat and tears are NOT infectious fluids.

So there you have it. Once the results of the serodiscordant studies started rolling in, what we know about hiv transmission on the cellular level was validated. The only people who were getting infected were those who had unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Period. One of the three studies went on for ten years and involved hundreds of couples.

and thanks a lot for your reply! It made me feel better!
I wont bother you guys for now, and i will get tested on the 6th week just to have an ease of mind (I am going crazy!), consciously I know it was a very low HIV infection risk,but unconsciously I still think I am HIV+, and symptoms are appearing day after day (fever, fatigue, headache, and starting to feel joint, lymph node and muscle pain).
Its either I am so unlucky I got a cold two weeks after I had that incident, or the mind is that powerful to make me think I have joint, muscle and lymph node pains.... or I actually have an anxiety disorder!

I know you told me I don't have a high risk, but things are getting worse, the fever is getting worse, my lymph node in my neck hurts and are swollen!! i have a fever (and its not responding by taking Tylenol) plus a headache! Also the lymph nodes in my armpit hurt!
I know these are sometimes a sign of early HIV infection but also a lot of other diseases.
So being completely honest with me, whats the percentage for me to have HIV from that incident? and if not HIV what other STD could cause that?

Nobody said you had any risk, as you used condoms for penetrative sex.  If you are unwell you should see your doctor as we cannot diagnose anything through the forums.  The only reason you need to test, is for your own piece of mind, as you did not have a risk.

Sorry guys to post again, but after considering every thing that happened, we remembered (me and my gf) that on one occasion during foreplay my penis accidentally touched and went like 1cm into her vagina, then we stopped and put a condom on.
would that be a risk to HIV or even to any other STD?

If you are unwilling to learn the facts regarding HIV transmission, and are so afraid of contracting something, then maybe you should not be having sex at all.  Sex is suppose to be the ultimate form of communication between two people, but if you are consumed with worry after each encounter, well, that is just not natural nor healthy.  I applaud you for seeking more information, but at some point, you need to learn the facts and not expect us to calm your fears, every time you have a sexual experience.

If you took the time to really learn the facts about HIV transmission, you would not be here at all and certainly not over an incident of PROTECTED SEX.  You should know what the risks are, so you can enjoy your intimate time and stop worrying about risks that just do not exist.

hi guys,
I just want to post an update for future people who have the same issue.
On the 4th and 6th week I tested negative (4th gen.) as the guys here predicted, I wasnt thinking straight so just to feel better I went forward and did the testing.
I just want to say, dont believe everything you read on the web, especially pages where they state facts (answers.com and stuff like that). Seriously this was one of the only pages that actually made me feel hopeful at least.
Oh and the swollen lymph nodes that I had the same time as I thought I was positive ended up being way abnormal for their size, so the doctor thinks I might have a tumor there, so Not sure if I should feel good that i actually freaked out regarding HIV and i end up catching a disease that could be worse than HIV on the long run!
I really wanna thank everyone especially Joe and Jeff, and I wanna say this experience changed my life and you people changed the way I perceive HIV-positive people!

Every cloud has a silver lining if you look hard enough. In your case, maybe if you weren't so (unnecessarily) freaked out about hiv, you wouldn't have noticed the problem with your lymph nodes until whatever is going on had progressed even further. So maybe you caught it early, and catching these things early usually leads to a good prognosis.

Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv - you do not have hiv. Good luck going forward with sorting the problem out.
