It's been a minute since I have been here. Diagnosed AIDS in 2010. 13 years poz. UD and pretty healthy since AART. My question is about Stage 3A Kidney Disease. Here's my latest labs:
Creatinine SerPl QN
1.70 mg/dl (High)
Estimated GFR (CKD-EPI, no race)
45mL/min/1.73m2 (Low)
Estimated CRCL (CG)
53mL/min Olow)
I am hoping someone dealing with this can explain it and what to expect. Docs do not seem concerned about it and do not believe it is caused my meds.

Do not know your diet.
I was eating mostly meat and some nuts in a attempt to increase my energy levels I had a high creatinine level for a while and they said kidney disease stage three.
One of the doc I talked to asked if I eat a lot of nuts. The few days before I had eaten a lot of them
I eat more vegetables and less meat and nuts. drink a lot of fluids and my latest levels have dropped to 1.3 GFR of >60 . they had gotten better but not perfect .
My energy levels have dropped but so has my cholesterol.
Diet might help . I hope this info might help .
They all so found kidney stones they did composition test and they were made out of HIV meds . This caused some kidney damage.
Have known about my HIV since 1989
All the best
I had to google creatinine levels and GFR to get a better understanding of levels. this might help you get a better understanding of your kidney health.
A relative in the healthcare industry told me kidney disease can take a long time to develop and change . the only thing I can suggest that might help is diet and fluids
