Advice on steps after AIDS diagnosis
« on: October 02, 2014, 04:11:30 pm »
I have a question about advice on what the most important steps are after an AIDS diagnosis.  I'm dealing with new doctors, new medications, lots of new information, a pending divorce, insurance issues regarding the divorce and finances.  Along with things like shelter, disability, food stamps and SSI.

I know that you have to take it piece by piece, as each day comes but obviously certain steps can make the road traveled a little easier.

Where did you start first or wish that you would have??

take your meds

don't tell anyone, at all, until you're ready for everyone to know

don't go into information overload, all that new stuff you don't understand, just take your meds

don't panic, in big friendly letters

if I were in your shoes my priorities would be shelter, food, medical care in the immediate and all the rest step by step. Do you really have an aids diagnosis and already have the meds???  Then by all means, shelter and food.

Best advice ever!
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth,
The minor fall, the major lift,
The baffled king composing Hallelujah!
