That was fun! Not that I haven't enjoyed the chats prior but we had a crowd this time and that was great!

OMG. so I told Larry that besides being PI day there was another holiday on my birthday. His reply was that I didn't usually give him chocolate or flowers on Valentine's Day so he didn't think that steak or blowjobs were really going to be options on some made up holiday either. LOL

I pointed out that I should still get birthday sex because it'll be, well duh, my birthday, so that'll still work out in my favor.

plus there will be pie. mmm I want a cherry pie for my birthday.

I got asked by another forum member what we generally talk about during these meets, so I said I would post a quick note here.

So most of the time, it's catching up, talking about life, how we're all doing, dating, pets, renovations, work, study and family etc., but sometimes HIV does come up, or someone has a question about treatment, developments and those kinds of things.

I think that's a fair summary, but if anyone feels I missed anything, please chime in.

I've got stuff to talk about.

We lost our doctor, well HIV Specialist NP; gained a new IV Specialist NP; and got blood results (oh noes! I had a blip! LOL plus Larry and I have the same cd4 and cd8 %s and the same cd4/cd8 ratio). Aberdeen weights 27lbs now - and got punished for the first time.

It was great seeing some newer diagnosed people today. I hoped you got some questions answered, some support, and just didn't feel so alone with all this. If you didn't get a chance to say or ask what you would have liked to talk about, you could always fire off a message to Jim (hope you don't mind me throwing you under the bus like this, Jim. LOL) and I'm sure he'd work it into the next conversation.

interesting. i went to check, on my tablet, whether there was an app and found that Google Duo, a video phone/chat app has been upgraded to be Google Meet now.

Even though we chatted about some serious stuff (the world is a mess!) we did laugh a lot. As usual, I enjoyed our chat a bunch. Maybe some day we'll get a few more peeps to join in.

Hard to imagen a year has already passed. Initially setting this up, I mainly expected it to be newbies with questions about starting treatment etc. Although we have supported people new to living with HIV during the year and discussed living with HIV & HIV news on every call, these meetings have been a platform to discuss life and challenges far bigger than HIV, and it has been a platform to offer each other support with a good dose of humour.

We have laughed, cried, and supported each other during the year. Thank you to everyone who attended, but special thanks to; @leatherman, for helping me start these meetings and co-hosting them over the year, and @numbersguy82, kentfrat1783 & Fabio for being regular members & the support over the year.

I thought it would be a lot of newbies too. maybe even too many? But it became a core group (most of my IRL groups ended up this way) with a few other members and newbies dropping in to visit every once in a while. And you can't forget our family members (humans and furry) who have gotten in way of the cams every once in a while.

Although these calls do touch on serious topics, they have developed into a more lighthearted and social meeting, and the point was raised about the potential need to have more focused peer support. So a couple of members will be working on this, stay tuned for updates over the next few weeks.
