Pls help me i cant sleep and focus on my studies
« on: March 12, 2016, 02:53:04 am »
Here is the situation

I met a guy from grindr then he invited me to come over his ppace and stay the night. We had deep kissing and Unprotected oral sex recieving and giving. Then the next day he told me that he is HIV+ and is undetectable for years. I asked if he has STIs wound and sores on his mouth, he said none. I was not contented and I even checked his mouth.

I have an Itch everywhere in my body but there are no rashes on it. i dont know if this HIV related anymore.

I will just ask what is the probability that HIV is transmitted to me?
I am near to losing my mind and going to the hospital.

Hi

So for all risk assessments we always presume the other person is Living with HIV.
Your risk assessment:

You were not at risk, If this is your only concern you have not put yourself at risk. You do not need to test each time you give a BJ.

All studies have shown that the risk for sexually transmitted HIV comes from unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse. The virus is very fragile, and your mouth has dozens of protein and enzymes that damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

Just keep in mind that as you are sexually active it is highly recommended that you get a full sexual health check-up / screening at least annually including but not limited to hiv testing.

Regarding your partner, in this case the sexually acts as listed above were not a  risk to start so no need to test or worry about this incident, as you mentioned his status i did want to share this additional insight:

So he says he UD (Undetectable) so he is on treatment and this than falls under:
Treatment-as-prevention (TasP) is use of antiretroviral (ARV) medication to decrease the risk of HIV transmission. Treatment-as-Prevention (TasP)
HIV TasP

This has been studied at length and to mention 1 of the studies as an example the "Partner" study is a major study looking at the chances of transmitting HIV with an undetectable viral load, there have been no transmissions between either gay or heterosexual serodiscordant partners.

Partner study
transmission-zero

Finally the The Swiss statement reads "An HIV-infected person on antiretroviral therapy with completely suppressed viraemia (“effective ART”) is not sexually infectious, i.e. cannot transmit HIV through sexual contact.”

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for all (STI's) sexually transmitted infections together.

If you are sexually active, it is highly recommended that you get a full sexual health check-up / screening at least annually including but not limited to hiv testing.

Remember that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's. So please do get fully tested regularly for all STI's including HIV and more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs. Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

Finally use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, to avoid sexually transmitted hiv infection.

Kind regards

Jim

Hi

Protected anal sex, is protected and not a risk for transmission. Look use condoms for anal intercourse, correctly and consistently, to avoid sexually transmitted hiv infection.
