Hi
I think I am at stage 1 of facial lipo, probably due to hiv itself and bunch of medications that I am taking. Fat just ain't coming back to my cheek, and currently casts shadow under my cheekbone.
What is the best treatment for stage 1?
Thanks

I did Sculptra. It's very good for mild cases. Just find an experienced doctor to do it.

I agree with the previous post. Like you I am, and have been experiencing signs of Lipoatrophy / lipodysatrophy for a few yrs. and have receintly been doing extensive research in the area of Sculptra. There is lots of supporting documentation as too this treatment. Google it.

For mild lipoatrophy I also think Sculptra is the way to go.

Sculptra: Nice option if you've got lots of money to reinvest in your face each year. One year later he's spending as much or more to re-fill those same areas.
Precise (PMMA) is getting lots of praise & success but is permanent. Beginning at stage one wouldn't be a major investment in product, either. You can always email the clinic or doctor of choice a picture (frontal, left side profile & right side profile) of yourself and they'll work up a ballpark figure of costs.

Egello , I am in a manufacturers' trial of Sculptra.....coming up on my 1st year in a few weeks....I was a worst case ( cat 5) and it took many vials of product to get me back to where I am now..( the current pic was taken just a few months ago) ...I haven't noticed any significant "shrinkage" yet and will go for a 1st year follow up in March...If Dr thinks needed I will get a "touch-up"......the study goes for 5 years to see just how long/often before a "touch-up" is needed depending on which category you start with... ( I can't really speak to cost because so far they pay me...just to do it...
My Dr recommended the Sculptra mostly because it isn't permanent....he does all types of "fillers" including the "permanent" ones.....he said this way we get to see how my particular case reacts to the filler ( they all work in a similar way..microscopic beads are injected and collagen builds up around them...some "beads" do not get absorbed and are thus" permanent" and some do get absorbed and thus non-permanent) ...everyone reacts a little differently to the collagen buildup and duration and it is a good idea to test that before you go permanent.....at stage one I am not sure what would happen or how long a Sculptra treatment would last.....
Many people on here have experience with both types of fillers and all agree on one thing...find a very experienced DR....this is still an art form not an exact science..so no matter which filler is used it can turn out beautiful or terrible.....it can last "forever" or for a shorter time

i was also in stage one and i elected to have sculptra about 4 yrs ago and it was pretty expensive ,if i had known that it was only gonna last about 8 months i would have checked into something else.I later found out that bio alcamid was being used and it is a permanent filler with great results so i decided to have that done too at about 1200.00 and that was about 2 yrs ago.i am going to clinca estetrica to have the PRECISE filler done, ive heard great things about it so i am pretty excited.
