Hello ladies,

I know it has been a while since I posted. Well here is the update:

My supervisor left my job and I am waiting to see if I get the job.

I have re-applied to college and is schedule to return next fall. I am so excited to complete my degree.

Some of my old friends I met here on POZ contacted me and that made me feel really good.

I am now saving money to get up my room as a little dorm room and create a college fund. However with the fallout thats going on, I am concern. My bank might be bought out and closed down.

My cat is happy as always. She loves the outdoors and laying on me. However she does not like to be huged or held. Weird cat.

I hope all is well with you all. Please post soon so I may get caught up.

Much Love

MplsLady

Good evening! Wow...it's quite and the all of a sudden everyone's talking! I don't think I will remember everyone, especially since it is on another thread.

Wendy- I am sorry about Billy's step-dad. Is the sam. causing all the stomach pain? I would also totally find out what all that spotting is about. Do you still have your houseguests?

Cindy- Enjoy your days off!!!

Queen- It sounds like you and Sexy are really hitting it off. Sometimes it is best to take it slow... :) How is your shoulder?

BT- I didn't know you were having problems with people on here! Your classes are almost done right?

I know I am forgetting the others....Oh, Wish, I also have very loose bowels in the morning and there is no way I could not make a bathroom run in the morning. I wonder if it is the meds???

Today was just another Monday. I did have a really good lesson when my principal walked in unexpected. All of the 5th grade students got laptops and we have to figure out how to incorporate them as much as possible. Well with anything technological there are always difficulties. One major one was how to teach them something on the computer without a projector to hook my laptop up to. Well we finally got one and today I hooked my laptop to it and was showing the kids how to set up an Excel page, we use them for our reading logs, and it went really well! My principal just happened to walk in and was so excited about me using the technology and  about the kids being 100% focused that she took a picture of us....LOL! Let's just say I nailed it today...YAY ME!  :) On a sad note, one of the boys in my class fell off the bars at recess and they think he broke his wrist. Poor thing. What is bad is now my principal will probably ban playing on the bars. Whenever a kid gets hurt playing she puts a stop to whatever they were doing that caused the injury. One year two kids ran into each other and bonked heads so then there was no more chasing on the blacktop. I mean kids get hurt. Nothing was unsafe. That's about all. I need to get some work done. Have a good night!

Hello, everyone. I've been having trouble with loosing my internet connection so hopefully this goes through. I still don't have Lucas' test results. They don't call me I have to give them ~2 weeks then call. I tried today but the person who gets me his results is out till 10/1.

Wendy - My condolences on Billy's step-dad. I hope you are feeling better. Definitely talk to your GYN about what's happening. I use to have hellish cramps and the Thermacare patches did more to get me through the day than anything else.

Cindy - My husband was in a car accident the end of June and has herniated discs in his cervical spine now. The pain was really bad and he had numbness & weakness in his right arm. Last Tuesday he had an epidural steroid injection. Things aren't back to normal, but the pain is much, much less and his strength and sensation are coming back. Have you ever tried this?

BT - I'm sorry you've had to change your screen name. People can be such jerks >:(.

Well, I better go it's pretty late here. Take care everyone!

Hi Mom~

Its my c6 and c7 that are damaged, although they say only "mild to moderate."  The trouble permeates to the rhomboids and shoulders (upper back and base of neck where those two vertebra are), the muscles are too weak to support my neck and head.  Yes, I had the injections years ago in each shoulder blade, called "trigger point injections."  They felt like bee stings and brought on more pain.

I really don't have terrible pain all of the time, just stiffness and a neck that won't work.  The muscles have gone kaput.

I go see my diabetic doc today so I'll get a copy of my labs from the draw last week.  Wish me luck.

Morning ladies,

Cin, thanks for starting the new thread.  Love the title.  Please let us know what your labs are.  Is there anything at all they can do for your neck/back?  I mean, have all avenues been exhuasted?

Snow, have you tried taking Immodium right before you go to bed?  I wonder if that would help the diarrhea in the morning?

Queen, I changed my screen name because the other name I was using was my real name and I don't want any trouble because of it.  Don't worry, it wasn't the green. ;)

Mpls, good to hear from you.  I have a kitty, but I don't let her outside.  She doesn't like to be held at all.  She does lay by me though. I think it's great that you're going back to school.  I wouldn't get too panicked yet about your bank.  Yesterday was only temporary I think; just an initial reaction.  Just relax and try not to worry.  And if your bank does get boughtout, I would check into joining a credit union; I belong to one and don't worry about the "credit crunch."

Andrea, what grade do you teach again?  I couldn't imagine teaching kids to do anything with a computer.   I imagine the principal stops things that get kids hurt because of liability.  You know how people sue so often nowadays.  Four more weeks (including this week) until my classes change.

#1, So, you'll have Lucas' results 10/1?  Please let us know how he's doing.  And give him a hug for me.

Nothing much happening here.  Just watching the morning news.  They said Wall St. is up by 100+ points.  I hope the house stands their ground on the bailout package.  I realize something needs to happen, but they need to be damn sure it's detailed out.  Taxpayers don't need to pay CEO's multi-million dollar severance packages anymore.  Especially CEO's who acted criminally.  They need to be held accountable.  My two cents.

The only thing happening today is school.  I'll probably catch up on my reading.  I was thinking about calling about these part-time jobs, but they're telemarketing and I remember well what happened last year when I tried telemarketing.  I lasted a month and 1/2.  So I'm undecided right now as to whether or not to call.     Have a good day ladies.

Hi GFs~

I just got back from seeing my diabetic doctor and got a copy of my labs.  I should be a doctor, lol.  Everything I suspected is true, which means nothing is wrong with me except for maybe this neck!  Here's the run-down:
Lyme Disease - same result as Jan 2008, poss infection as child, I am 1/100 over the equivocal range
Iron - FINE without the supplements which I stopped 2 mos ago
A1C - "measure of diabetic sugar levels" up to 8.1 so we switched insulins today :)
         I am starting on "Levemir" a long-acting insulin. :D
Total cholesterol - improved much to my surprise, down to 169!
CD4 & VL - 560, undetectable at 37%  :)
RPR - non-reactive (syphilis)
Hep C - non-reactive

So, considering all of the damn stress I have had for three months, this looks good.  I will really have to look into getting my neck taken care of, cause I think its the root of all evil, more so than side-effects from Sustiva.

Hey!  On a whim, I perused the paper yesterday and faxed a resume in to a local doc's office, they need a bookkeeper.  Don't you know they actually called me this morning before I left for the doc appt?  And did I mention their building sits right next to my doc's building, as well as my GYNs?

Yep, I have an interview at 3pm.  I went low when they asked what I would work for, I think that's what got me the interview.  This place is about 6 miles from my house, if that.  So a 12-mile commute, driving slow, no highways with all of my stores and docs nearby is PRICELESS!  I may just go in and tell these people I REALLY REALLY want to work for them if all looks good.  Going 75 miles a day to my current job is compromising my lifestyle, and with the trouble I've had with PITA, it just doesn't seem worth it.  So, I have my interview outfit ready and I am excited!

Wish me luck, I hardly EVER get interviews this close to home!!!   ;D   ;D

~ Cindy

P.S. - Snow, listen to BT, Imodium is M-A-G-I-C!!!

Just popping in quick to say hello while Lucas naps.

BT - I'll let you all know Lucas' lab results when they come in. He's doing well. Talking more every day. Thanks for the loving concern.

Cindy - Wow 8.1 is up there. I hope the Levemir gives you better control. I'm glad the other tests were good. Your cholesterol is better than mine and I'm on prevachol to get it down  ;D. I wanted to wish you good luck with your interview. I realise you're there now and wanted to say I'm praying this goes your way.

Hi Mom~

I said the same thing about 8.1 but my doc made me feel better.  He said this is only a few months at this higher level, not years and years of my life.  Some diabetics just DECIDE not to take insulin even when they are supposed to!   :o   ???  I can't imagine.  My doc sees some people on a regular basis like this, and their A1Cs are up over 13 or so.  I immediately felt better.  :)  I told him I use the food as a crutch to keep a higher sugar level for my commute home.  With the neck probs at the end of the day, the last thing I need is low blood sugar.

I'm on Pravachol as well for the cholesterol.  Must have been that long walk the other weekend that burned it all out of my system.  :)

The interview went well.  I started talking about how I had more to offer than bookkeeping skills.  I shared that I understood medical claims, EOBs, HIPAA, discretion, confidentiality....I have my fingers crossed.  The girl was really impressed!  :)

Back at Iceman's house and it looks like storms are coming in.  I hope my drive home tonight is a safe one.  I hate storms, lightning makes me jumpy!

Just breezing through. Not much going on really. My shoulder is feeling much better, I forget who asked about it but thanks for asking. My sugar hit 8.1 and that's when my doc started me on the Lantus shot. It seems to be pretty good, the past two days my fasting sugar was down to 111. Not sure if that was because I had no Pepsi or the Lantus is balancing out. I am still at 30 units til I see him on Friday.

I missed my support group today, I had no gas but I'll go next week. I am wondering what is going on with this economy. Didn't congress turn down that 700 billion dollar loan? This country is going to shit and quick, thanks a lot Bush. I was talking to a few of my friends who had never voted a day in their life like me and they have registered and is voting OBAMA. Something has to give or we are fucked BIG TIME.

Well enough of me trying to be political. I need to smoke one. Have a good night ladies.

Moon- I hope you get that job, sounds like it would be a great improvement.

Hi Queen- I have beent trying to listen to all the election and bailout and it all gives me a big headache.  Just seems like one big clusterfuck to me.  I want Obama to win but all the stories I hear about the votes getting miss counted or messed with scares me to death.  Glad to hear your shoulder is feeling better.

Betty- That is a good idea to take the immodium at night, I will try that starting tonight.  3 more days for money, YeeHAH!!!

#1- That must be very frustrating not to be able to get the results.  Have you been able to meet any mothers in your area to talk with?

Viv- I can't believe all your 5th graders got laptops, that is pretty cool.  That must have made you feel really good to have your prinicipal see that.  You know what my daughter told me the other day?  I have been trying to get the trip  lets into the habit of doing homework after school so she comes up to me and says " My teacher told me I don't have any homework and I am going to listen to her!"  The little shit, thats at 5, can you imagine what she will come up with when she is 15?

Hope everyone has a good night!

Good luck with the job Cindy. It sounds like it would be great for you. Would a neck brace help you? Not very pretty I know but at least you'd have the support.

Queen - I'm not sure why they turned down that proposal but it may have been some wording they did not like. They will figure out something I am sure. I dont think they will let the US crash.

Snow -  ;D been there

I'm not overly concerned with the spotting. Last month when I went to the doctor for a refill they gave me the wrong prescription. When i went back for the right one they did not take back the old one which was a weaker version of what I am taking. So I thought I would take the old one for a couple of weeks and so I could skip my period from now on because they wont allow me to fill the real prescription until I've used up the placebo week. I'm not sure if that made since but if I stretched it out long enough I can now fill my script before the placebo week and forever skip my period.
One month of screwing up my period is worth it to me if I can from now on not have to have a period.
I asked my Gynecologist if I could do this before and she refused to saying I needed to keep a healthy uterus. Its stupid because I cant have children I don't need to keep my uterus ready for making babies. She isn't even a doctor I think she is a nurse practitioner and its a county clinic so they are always chincy with medications.

I don't know if any of that made any since or not but I think once I start my next months birthcontrol package the spotting should stop. Its gotten to be very minimal enough for just a panty liner.

Dr. Wendy aye?   LOL I guess I play doctor sometimes on myself. Self diagnosis is a specialty maybe.  ::)
You know sometimes you can tell whats wrong with you because you've been there and done that often enough you can just go to the doctor and say "hey I've got an ear infection" or "hey I need some fluconazole because I am yeasty"  I just don't want to have a period anymore. They hurt tremendously and to be frank it makes be feel bitchy and dirty.

I took my son to get his haircut today. He had some god aweful dredlocks. LOL he only had them for 3 days before he decided they itch too much to keep. He is now pretty much bald. Which is fine with me.

The house guest have plans to move on the 4th of October. Yeahhhhh woo whooo privacy  ;D
I'll still see the baby all the time I am sure so thats no big deal. She is trying to crawl now and pulling herself up to stand. Which scares the heck out of me because she has noooo ballance. I told her daddy tonight she is going to wind up with alot of bruises and crack her skull plenty of times before she gets it right. She is teething right now too. But fortunately they have themselves a very well behaved kiddo. She occupies herself real well and does not cry often. They dont know how lucky they are I bet.

anywho I hope you all have a nice night.

hugs

wendy -  the countdown begins! i have my sisiter and her son over but i dont mind coz she cooks cleans etc and im glad for the company.  even though the kid does his best to kick me out of my bed with his giraffe legs in his sleep. he's going to be a tall one that one. and he's so cute with his big head, huge eyes and tiny mouth.

cindy - i have my fingers crossed that u get this job. sounds like a job from heaven location-wise and no more PITA drama!

Betty - i dont really understand the wall street thing. wouldnt people benefit from the government bailing out those guys?  guess bush is as popular over there as mugabe is over here.but nah, i exaggerate i dont think theres anyone more disliked by his own people than old bob.  i cant wait for your elections and Obama wins.  this year sure is eventful politically world wide.  all the resignations, deaths, firings, power-sharing deals etc. never a dull moment.
have u decided about the part-time job? good luck with that.

queen - glad your shoulders better now. hows sexy doing?

ooooh i nearly got my ass arrested on saturday.  my older sisters husband send her some money and she asked me to collect it and change it into local currency for her. which i did. of course i had to go it outside with the illegal dealers. so we were walking around trying to find somewhere i could count the money safely and these guys show up. they're not in uniform or anything one of them just flashes some funny ID and they started saying "come with us u're under arrest we've been watching u since you got here what what"  F*ing assh*les. they hit for a $1000 -for lunch they said.  i dont know how much that is in your currency but its not all that much really, coz u cant buy anything much with it. i was thinking "oh shit im going to be in the papers - "illegal forex baronness nabbed by plainclothes officers". And to think that i might have been arrested for money that wasnt even mine! thank Mugabe for corruption in the police force!

Morning ladies,

Cin, good luck getting that job.

Amy, isn't it today that you're supposed to get Lucas' labs?

Queen, glad your blood sugar's balancing out and your shoulder's feeling better.  I hope it continues.

Snow, the countdown for money is on.  The last week is always the longest.

Wendy, hey.  I play doctor a lot also.  We know our bodies the best.  I know you can't wait until those kids move out and you have your own space back.

Tendai, yeah, it would be a disaster if they don't approve the bailout package, but the wording needed to be fine-tuned.  The CEO's in this country make too much money when their company goes under.  They get severance packages, of several million dollars.  And it's their fault the banks (and companies) go under.  They gave people mortgages and credit who they knew really couldn't afford to pay the money back.  Then they could sell that to these hedgefunders, who also make millions and millions.  But, to not bailout somehow, people would be screwed.  A lot of people's money like their retirements are counting on this bailout.  Anyway, I can't believe those fuckers scammed you out of that money.  I absolutely hate that shit.  We get police impersonators around here, but it's usually an assault that results.  And no, I don't believe Bush is hated more than Mugabe.  You've won hands-down on that one.

Well, I got a "C" on the Microeconomics exam.  The teacher said the majority of the class did.  So I don't feel so bad.  Now only three more weeks of it and that'll be history.  I can't wait.

Today I'm just going to work on homework and read, then my Government class tonight.  I have nothing to report, so you ladies have a good day.

It would be nice if the situation could be fixed without using our tax dollars. I did not pay taxes to bail out some rich guys.

As usual not much going on with me. Today was my small check so I paid out the people I owe, put some gas in the car, bought some cigs and now I am broke til Friday. My sugar was even better today, it was 106. I am thinking my doc will prolly leave me at 30 units.

I need to take my braids down but I am totally being lazy. I will get it done and braided over before Monday which is when I got to check out this school I want to go to. Had a date set with Sexy but something came up so supposedly he will call me later. We shall see.

C--- Nah, I am in Pa. I usually run out of gas between checks. There's no gas in Ga? I am off to play some games and watch tv. Have a good day everyone.

Hi GFs~

A quick check -in.....I went back to work after my 4-day mini vacation and they had switched everything up on Monday.  I was pissed at first because the girls and I are supposed to be a united front. Turns out certain people were going on vacation, etc, so the mgr was trying to implement our chenges when the higher-ips were there.  So now we are all basically doing full-cycle bookkeeping for a handful of properties each, beginning to end.  Before we all did specific things for all of the properties, I did the AP.

Well, the girls are having a shit-hemmorage and I don't blame them, but I was smiles all day.  All I did was hand off my work to my mgr who is now taking on the books for the other side of the company -- which I did before in addition to my AP.  I am actually breathing a sigh of relief.

Get this, there are about 30 properties and I only got five (there are 4 bookkeepers).  What?!?!?!?  I asked my manager and the girls point blank if I was getting fired and is that why they only gave me five properties and some girls got ten?  I was joking but wanted an answer.  PITA being so nosey talked to the manager later and found out that I got the "difficult" properties because I seem to be most capable of handling them.  Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-heeeeeeeeeee!   :D   :D   :D   I knew I could do this work, so they give me the stuff that takes more thinking.  Mmmm-hmmmm, nuff said.  PITA was struggling with basic stuff today, like keeping property numbers straight while what we should be worried about is the concept of interpreting financial statements.  One girl thinks they might let PITA go cause she can't grasp any of this stuff.

Now watch, I'll get that other job offer.  Not that I'd mind......  ;D

Iceman invited me to stay over again and go to work from his place again tomorrow.  Good thing I brought extra meds.  ;)

Hi ladies.  I'm still trying to learn everyone and their stories.  :)

I don't have anything really eventful going on in my life these days other than adjusting to my new life.  I can't believe it's only been two weeks since I found out I was positive.  I was already stressed out at work, so after I found out, it's like I've been on auto pilot.  Last month, I found out my mother had lung cancer, and that was devastating, and then testing positive, which was a complete shock.  I really want more than anything to take some time off from work if things would just simmer down for a bit.

The best thing about this board is that it helps me see that HIV will not always be the only thing I think about all day everyday.  From reading, it does seem that most people get on to some sense of normalcy after a few months, and newbies go through a very dark period.

Good job, Moon!

BT- I tried the immodium with my meds last night and didn't have any problems today. YE- HAAH!  Thanks for the suggestion.

Sweet C-  I didn't realize you had tested poz so recently.  Sorry to hear about your Moms cancer.  Things will quiet down after a while and will reach a comfort level.

Ten- Geezo, That must have been scarey!  The only way someone could $1000 off of me, was if I  just robbed a bank.  I had to look up the exchange rate, but it would be about 144,250.00  :o.

Dr. Wendy- How have you been feeling? ;D  Glad to hear you wil be getting your privacy back soon.

My Mom came and visited today and we hit the local Goodwills.  I have to make sure we get out the door on time tomorrow cuz my son has an eye appt. at 8:45.  It will be so nice to be able to get him so new glasses

Yeah, me too Sweet C, I keep trying to jump in here and get to know all the women but the threads go back so far that I couldn't possibly know what is going on, so I guess I will just start from here.  I think we emailed eachother before, but  I am newly infected too and I feell "normal" already. I really didn't think I would those first two weeks or so, I looked at every day as my last. I was looking through my picture albums online the other night from that week I was diagnosed and I know I had to of taken my kids to 20,000 museums, aquariums, parks and zoos thinking I had to cram as much enjoyment in their life before the end. I snapped out of that quick. Anyway, things are as usual with me. Working in the stock market is no fun right now and not having any money to take a break and go out somehwere with my boyfriend is taking it's toll on my mentality but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. We had our annual AIDS walk here in town this past weekend and raised about $178,000 so I think my ASO will be able to help me get caught up on my mortgage and electric bill. I did raise a couple hundered myself. I took my kids a friend and my roomate and his two dogs and we were dead last, not that it was a race. We could hear crickets when we arrived back at the starting gate. It was funny. I am desperately trying to quit smoking. I had quit for 4 years and just started back in July, I keep telling myself with this cold weather that just started last night I won't want to go outside and smoke. I will probably end up buying a heater and just resort to the garage. Ughhh.

Have a good one!

Hey ladies,

Cin, good job.

SweetC, things will get better.  All you have to do is hang in there.  I'm sorry about your mum.  I lost both my parents within the last year.

Snow, I'm glad the Immodium worked.  What's going on with you?

Andrea, I looked at the time you posted and it was after midnight.  I thought "wow, she was up late!"  Then I realized you're three hours earlier than I am.  So, it wasn't as late your time as I thought it was.  I hope you're feeling a bit rested today.

Jenny, I used Chantix to quit smoking.  And that was after 31 years of heavy smoking.

I'm waiting for my therapist to come over, which is actually almost an hour away.  Then at 2:30, I'm going to see the diabetes educator.  She's a nurse and nutritionist who specializes in diabetes.  Then at 5:00 tonight I'm going to Obama's campaign headquarters here to do a little volunteering.

Class last night was alright (Government).  I have an exam to do though and the questions are all research-essay questions (there's 10 of them).  I'm not going to do any of it today.  Probably not tomorrow either.   Nothing else to report.  You all have a nice day.

Hi everyone, Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Lucas has had a runny nose and generously decided to share LOL. He just has a runny nose, but I got the full deal, sinuses that feel like they are going to explode, sore throat, body aches, chills and no energy. Hubby didn't get home from work till I was putting Lucas to bed, and then he needed the computer. I didn't have the energy to wait till he was done and went to bed.

The nurse from PID called last evening with Lucas's test results. His viral load is still undetectable thank God  :)! They only do his CD4 every other time since he's been stable and they try to minimize how much blood they take since he's so small. They did liver tests since it had been a year. ALT 21 T. Bili 0.2 and Alk Phos 328. The Alk Phos is a little high but she said that is normal when they are growing or getting ready to get taller. He's small so a growth spurt wouldn't be bad ;D. The other results are normal.

Cindy - Congratulations! It's about time you're recognized for your excellent work! I'm still praying you get the other job because of the location though.

Betty - Congratulations on the passing grade. Thank you for your concern for Lucas. It means alot :-*.

Snow - It is frustrating waiting for the test results. They only call if they notice a problem, and I'm too paranoid that something could get missed if I don't track it myself. I don't know any other moms in my area. I know when I had the resent problem with getting his medicine that he's the only one in this part of the state on liquid Videx.

Wendy - I had problems with ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I was put on continuous cycle birth control pills for years. When I had to have my emergency total hysterectomy after complications from invitro fertilization my uterus was fine. No problems from the years of continuous cycling.

SweetC & Jennynyc7 - I haven't been posting here long. I felt a little overwhelmed  :o when I saw how far back the postings went. I decided to just jump in and start from there ;). Everyone has been very nice and welcoming. Just learn as you go like I am. This is a great group of ladies :)!

SweetC - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. You've got more thrown at you at one time to deal with than alot of folks could handle. You're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you're able to get some time off.

Well, while Lucas naps I'm going to try and grab some Zzz too. Have a good day everyone!

Hi GFs~

Iceman has had me at his house every night since Sunday, and I have been going to work from here these past two days.  Its been fun cause he has a comfy place, and he's been feeding me dinner every night.  I went home yesterday after work to get more meds for the weekend and more dog food for Cheech.  At the time, there were cops waiting to talk to somebody on the next street over.  Its a nice neighborhood, but its older, 25 years, so the riff-raff has been trickling in over the past few years.  Makes me wonder if they were REPOing a car or busting someone.  It was hard to see.  Times are tough, so the REPO would make sense.

My neck is killing me.  I pulled it yesterday, so I have some pain along with the "no strength" thing I am always dealing with.  I found my old neck brace up in the closet so I'll prob wear it while I am driving.  I have enough leave and no work to do, I really want to call in.  Shit.  I'll go get Ice's opinion.  My neck is in spasms.  With all of the changes implemented on Oct. 1st at the office, my desk has cleared out.  Much LESS work, but the beginning of the month is tough when the bank stmts come in.  Hell, if they arrive today, they can wait until Monday, right?  LOL  ;)

BT, do you have finals this week?  Must be soon, right?

~ Cindy

I live in a bad neighborhood (my section is nice but just a couple blocks over os bad). I have only been in the hood for about 6 mo and have seen numerous drug busts, matter of fact their is a crack house down the block and boy do they do the business. It's funny cuz a couple weeks ago my neighbor backfired his riding mower and it must of sounded like a gunshot and the cops came rolling in but yet the crack house is never in trouble.

Man, neck pain is the worse. I hope it gets better for ya soon. Who is Iceman if I may ask? I can't seem to find that thread.

I am dealing with some stomach issues. I have been thinking for some time it is just normal stuff but the more it happens, like yesterday.. I think it is the meds finally taking it's toll. It isnt horrible but I did have to leave work a bit early. It's not diarrhea necessarily but just a general nasty feeling all over my tummy. It's a bit better today though. If it keeps happening maybe I will lose the 20 more pounds I have been aiming for.....just in time for my boyfriends cd release party where I may have to go on stage and do some backup (I did it on their cd).

Hi GFs~

I ended up staying home and lounging on Iceman's couch, catching up on Fall shows.  Jenny, Iceman is my BF, yesterday was 11 months for us.  He is neg and knows my status.  He has been so GOOD to me!  :)

I called my chiropractor and got an 11am appt today.  She went to rub the muscles of my back and said "oh boy...."  Much worse than the golfball knot I had in August.  I asked her what we could do and reminded her that last year I was getting treatments 2x a week with her plus therapuetic massage 1x a week, and still had probs.  She suggested a pain mgmt clinic or epideral shots.  Sorry, I am NOT having an epideral for anything unless I am "pushing out a puppy" which isn't going to happen.  LOL

I am starting to get sore now from the adjustments she did, but its normal, not too bad.  I go back next Thursday.  So much for an extra paycheck this month, although I DID budget in 3 visits to the chiropractor.

I also started my new insulin, Levemir, this morning, so we'll see how I do on it.  Its a long-acting insulin, like Humulin N or an NPH insulin.

Well, Cheech is here looking at my chicken sandwich, so I'd better share now, lol.   ;D  Anyone have an October birthday?

~Cindy

Awwww okay, I figured it was but didn't want to assume. That's awesome. My bf is neg and we have been together only 2 months. I remember getting adjustments at the chiropractor and how sore I was that night but man I swear by em, I just can't afford the co-pays and geeeeze they want you to come like everyday or they claim the treatment won't work....ackkkk no thanks. Glad you had it in your budget. Maybe I will budget in a couple pair of undies next check, which I am in dire need of.

Just an hour left in my work day and the Bailout passed the House so maybe my job will get a bit easier.

Have a great weekend!

Hey all,

Amy, I hope you get to feeling better.  Having those general achey feelings with stuffiness is the worst.

Cin, finals are in three weeks.  Believe me, I'm so ready for the microecon class to be over.  I'm glad you're able to go to the chiropracter's.  Maybe that will give you some relief.

Today I went shopping and did laundry.  I've just now landed.  I think tonight I'm going to get one of those on-demand movies from Comcast.  The Rolling Stones movie is on there and I really want to see it.  I ordered Juno last month.  That was an excellent movie.

Tomorrow I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  The LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) book store is having a picnic.  It's supposed to be sunny and 65.  I might go to that.  Goodwill is having one of their 50% off days, so I might do that also, but with a very restricted amount of money so I don't go nuts.  Anyway, that's about all the news for now.  I hope you ladies have a good evening.

Hee hee!   :D   I had undies in my budget as well, but my mother (yes, my mother....) brought some by last weekend.  They are a tad too big but they were FREE!!!

I have been napping at Iceman's and the two dogs next door have been barking for an hour to be let in.  The neighbors are very nice, but the young mother is out front of the house with her toddler and newborn, so she's not letting the dogs in.

So, I just let Cheech out to have a good run up and down the fenceline, and "I" started howling at ALL of them, lol, lmao!!!   :o   :o

I'm a hoot sometimes.

Oh, I am so mad, I just lost my whole thing.  My daughter lost her first tooth and I was putting it in an envelope for her and hit the wrong button when I sat back down.  :'(

Jenny- I don't understand the bailout or why it didn't pass the first time.  You work on Wallstreet?

Sweet C- How are you holding up?

BT-  I hope you can find something good at the Goodwill?  They just opened up a Goodwill outlet here and everything is a dollar or cheaper. I found a Navajo sandpainting for .50 cents  :D  How was the Rolling Stone movie?  I had even heard of that one.  I have been taking the kids back and forth to school, volunteering, helping my Dad build his house, going to football practices and games.  I love this time of year around here, it isn't too hot and the leaves are changing.  I haven't had a problem yet since I started taking the immodium at night.   ;D  I found out today that shitbag is getting out tomorrow.  I am so pissed, I thought we still had over a week and I didn't get a modification or a RO yet.  I am so tired of dealing with this guy!  How is school going? I have been kinda stressed so I started my period early and we all know that is always a joy.

Keeping- How is the baby making going? ;D ;D ;D ;D

Lucas's Mom- How are you and the little one feeling?

Moon- You are a trip!  Does Cheech get along with other dogs?  I was moving my full size mirror in my room yesterday and my big dog saw his reflection in it and started barking and growling.  I thought he was going to attack it and break the mirror, I need all that bad luck like I need a whole in the head.

Queen- How is Sexy and how is your shoulder feeling?
 :D
Viv- I hope you had a good week at school!  I lost your myspace acct when I had to re-do mine because I am retarded! :o

  Win- How are you feeling?

Hi, HELLO.....Drag, Ann, Jan, Wish, Roberts Mom (Sorry, I am having a brain fart), Pauline and everyone else

Love to all. checking in tomorrow. :-*

Cindy, you can't beat free underwear. ;)  BTW, which insulin were you on before Levemir?  Please let me know how that insulin works for you.  I'm curious.

Snow, it seems that SB is getting out way before he should.  Just keep the phone handy in case you need to call the law.  And don't be scared to do that.  If he calls you, warn him that you will have him arrested should he bother you or step foot on your property.   I didn't want the Rolling Stone movie, because the History channel had a totally new Gangland on (I like those series).  School is going alright, except for the microeconomics class.  Government is alright.  Only three more weeks of these classes and I change.  Please keep yourself safe.

Netta, good to hear from you again.  I would go through withdrawals also if I was away from the internet for a period of time.

That's it for me.  Have some good zzzzz's everyone.

Hey everyone! Another crazy week finished...YAY!

Cindy- I just don't know how you can function being in constant discomfort like that.

BT- I am sure you are glad the classes are almost over. Do you have to take another economics class?

Snow- I'll pm you... :)

Jenny- I don't know if I said this before, but welcome! Are you in the states?

#1Mom- I hope Lucas is better.

Has anyone heard from Mum??? I hope she is ok.

Wendy- How is everything?

I have been dealing with some congestion and a cough with yucky phlegm....ooops, was that an overshare? LOL! Everytime it happens I worry that it is pneumonia again. I should probably go to the doctor bu I will probably just keep putting it off.

I recently reconnected with an old friend and I am very excited. We were very good friends and then started to drift apart. I started to hit my "low" point right before I got sick and started to pull away, Anyways...we have been playing phone tag but I am sooo looking forward to seeing her. This is the first friend I feel like I can tell about my status and I feel such relief. I told my therapist about it and I totally started to cry...crazy. The only people who know about me are my family members. It is hard to keep such a huge secret, as I am sure you all know. My friend is someone who I know will not be judgemental. She used to be a neonatal nurse and then went into psychology. I am going to completely trust my instinct and just open up. She knows all about Mr. Wonderful and the history so not everything will be new. Other than all that nothing else is going on. I am looking forward to sleeping in to maybe 6:00am LOL, and I might even take a nap tomorrow. I never thought I would see the day when I would be looking forward to sleeping!

Have a good night ladies! ;D

Hi GFs~

Iceman was snoring and I was irritable last night, so I slept on his big comfy couch.  It has a chaise on one end and a settee in front of it, so its like a king-sized bed in the LR.   :D

Viv~   Nice to hear that you're looking forward to sharing with your friend.  I was diagnosed in '93, only told my BF my status (in '96 after hubby died), and didn't disclose to family until late '97.  I disclosed to my best friend (you all know she's NOT my best friend anymore) in 2002, and she wrote me off.  She's the one who's little sis is my best friend now.  Remember their mother passed away in July and I saw EX best friend at the memorial?  Anyway, good to hear you have someone close to confide in and vent to!

As far as my discomfort, I just keep plugging along with this neck.  Its more stiffness and tightness than anything.  Sure, I'm sore if the doc gets in there and tries to massage out the tightness, but usually I function.  Now if I had shooting burning pain, it would be an entirely different story.  Grrrr.....

BT~  I was on injections of Humalog and Humulin N.  Now its Humalog and Levemir.  Levemir isn't supposed to be as "potent" so hopefully I won't get the swings in sugar levels.  Its like the Lantus that Queen is on.  So far the sugars have been running high, but it may be due to that chiro visit yesterday and not moving much.  I slept a lot after that chiro visit, on and off all afternoon.  I increased my morning dose by 2 units over what I took yesterday, and will increase my bedtime dose as well.  My sugar was 246 this morning and I hardly ate last night AND went to bed early.  I just need to adjust.

Hello to Netta!  :)  Hee hee, can you see if I called work and said I coulodn't come in, there's a gas shortage?  We had a few stations that ran out after Ike, but so far so good.

Snow~  Remember when you type in your post to hold down the Control button and then press "A."  This will highlight everything you've typed.  Next hold down Control and press "C."  This will copy everything in case your entry goes into cyberspace.  Congrats on your little one losing her first tooth.  Ice's youngest has both front teeth out, lol.  No, Cheech doesn't get along with other dogs, although he has mellowed out some with the fenceline thing.  Cheech barks at all dogs at the vets, no matter how big.  He just wants to protect Mommy.   ::)

Iceman and I are invited to a crab feast tonight at one of his friends' homes.  I have met the guy before, but no one else.  I don't even know how many people will be there.  I love picking at crabs, Maryland girl here!  I just hope I "last" with my neck hurting and all.  I even have a snazzy outfit and new mules (boots) here at Iceman's, so I'll look presentable.  Usually at his place I sit around in athletic pants and a t-shirt, lol.

That crazy man has been riding his MC to work every day.  It makes me so nervous.  His trip is coming up at the end of next week with the Wild Hog guys, as I have dubbed them. :D  Its supposed to rain some, so they'll look like a bunch of Gorton's fishermen with their rainsuits on, lmao. ::)

I'm off to watch episodes of ER that I recorded, more later on.

~ Cindy

Morning ladies,

Snow, I forgot to tell you to tell your little girl congratulations on losing her 1st tooth!

Andrea, believe me, there are some days I look forward to sleep also.  Like this morning; I've only been up for an hour and 1/2 and I'm thinking about taking a nap.

Cin, I'm on Lantus also, so I know what that is.  I was just wondering if the Levemir is better than or not as good as the Lantus (but it sounds like the same thing).  Have fun at the crab feast tonight.  I wouldn't make it too good in Maryland-I hate seafood.

I was going to get up early and get ready to go to Goodwill, but I just don't feel like going.  I'm not motivated to do anything.  I don't know yet if that's going to change or not.  I'm going to check out a few more threads and go in and lay down for awhile.  You ladies have a good day and I'll be back later, probably.

The kids are officially moved out. I have my house back.  ;D
I've been feeling tired lately but thats nothing new and of course my belly still hurts as usual but like being tired thats not new either. I'm ok.

I am in the middle of browning some hamburger for tacos tonight and I have a pot of syrup boiling to make candied apples. I usually want one this time of year. I'll make 6 or so small ones. I'll try not to eat them all.

Now I want caramel apples with peanuts.....I've never made them, so perhaps I'll try this season!

Iceman and I drove back to my place early and did the yardwork, now we're at his place and he is finishing up outside.  We want to be ready for football at 1pm!

The weather is beautiful and I am doing OK.

We went to Iceman's friend's house last night for crabs.  Turns out the friend and a buddy were on the Chesapeake Bay at 630 am setting the lines.  They caught the crabs themselves!  They caught about 10 dozen and eight of us ate about half of them, with lots left over.  The power went out right at dusk and never came back on, so we ate hardshells by candlelight.  It was a good time with good people.  It was nice to get to know Iceman's friends more closely.

Hope everyone is well.  What day is Drag getting married?  Anyone know?

Morning ladies,

Believe it or not, I just got up a few minutes ago.  I've been depressed the past couple days. Not wanting to do anything, can't concentrate on anything long enough to get it done etc.  Tomorrow I'm going to my doctor's, so hopefully he'll be able to figure out if it's clinical depression or situational.

Wendy, I probably would have eaten all of the apples by now.  I love sweets.

Cin, sounds like you had a really good time.  I'm glad you did.

The only thing I'm going to try to force myself to do today is finish up the Government exam.  I got 1/2 of it written out yesterday.  It's harder than I thought it was going to be and 1/2 of it took me four hours (five questions).  I wanted to get it all done yesterday, but when I get in these depressed moods, I can't concentrate for very long at all.

I need to go to the library today to take back the two books I have of theirs.  They're due today. Of course, my doctor is on the same side of town they're on, so I might just wait until tomorrow.  Then I'd have to pay the late fee, but I don't think it could be that much.  I just hate to waste gas is all.  I suppose if I took them back today, I could go tomorrow and get a different book instead of worrying about not being able to get one because of late fees.  I have an extremely hard time making decisions when I'm depressed also.  And I usually make the decisions (when I'm depressed) based on my wants, not needs.  Like right now, I want to lay back down.  And I will as soon as I check out a few more threads.  You ladies have a good day.

Good morning ladies!

Wheewwww the weekend went way too fast. The weather here in KY is gorgeous right now. It was low 70's and sunny all weekend, just perfect. Me and my bf went out Saturday night and used a gift card I had to Lucky Strike Lanes, of course we didn't bowl, I had a dress on, but we did eat some good appetizers and had some tasty drinks. We are such wimps though, we were home and asleep by 1:30am. I almost have to get to bed at a decent time everynight since my kids are up at 7am no matter what.

Netta-Welcome back, it stinks having no internet. Glad you got back on!

Snow-Ahhhh I can't wait (or maybe I can) for my kids to lose their first tooth. How much is one of those worth to the tooth fairy these days anyway? Oh, no I don't work on Wallstreet, used to, kind of but now I am in good ole Louisville, KY working at an investment firm.

#1Mom- How are you guys feeling?

Viv-I just recently reconnected with an old high school friend, she actually is the only person that did the AIDS Walk with me last weekend, it was great.

Moon-Ughhh snoring is the worst! That crab fest sounds like it was a perfect night.

BT65- I LOVE Goodwill!!!  I just bought like 4 pair of jeans for $3.50. I get all my kids clothes there.

Win-MMMM Tacos are my favorite and OH MAN those apples look delicious.

Well, the market is already down a bunch, better go.

Have a good one!

BT- Sorry to hear that you are feeling down.  I think you can call and have them extend when your books are due, then if you bring them back tommorrow you won't owe anything.

Win- Those apples look yummy!

Jenny- You did better than I would have , I always end up getting back early.

Moon- Those crabs sound so yummy!!

Hello Ladies,

It has been a very crazy week and weekend for me. Two of my friends of 10 years got married on Saturday. It was beautiful. However no one could give me a direct answer on how to get the reception so I missed that.

I am becoming more angry with men. Again I was suppose to have a date this Sunday, but instead I got stood-up. I really don't like this feeling. It hurts and sucks. So instead I eat a bunch of fast food and sweets. Now today I can feel the effects.

Here at work, things are going well. I had interviewed for a the supervisor position and I am hoping to hear something this week. I am on pins and needles. I want to know now, but I am doing my best to wait.

My household is just as crazy. My quest roommate is leaving next week and I can't wait. My main roommate can't wait either. He has been kind and allowed her his room in the meantime. So her friend, her dogs, and family have been driving me nuts. What a suprise.

All in all things could be better, but I am dealing with what I got. I did receive my information to continue college. I start up in the fall of 2009. I am so happy. So now, I am re doing my room. I found a great futon and larger tv (32 inch for $50). When everything is done, my room will look just like a dorm room.

My cat Maxine is good. She has a boyfriend. We have a pitbull dog upstaris from us and they are in love with each other. I find it so cute watching them play with each other at the windows. She gets excited when he comes outside. It is so cute.

I hope things are going well ladies. I will be writing more.

Much Love

PS. My name is Charity. Nice to meet all of you.

Howdy Ladies---

Sorry I have been missing but I had been doing my hair. It took me 3 days this time but that is because I didn't braid the hair all the way down. Other than that, not much, just got off the phone with Sexy who has been sick and a bit depressed. He's starting to open up to me and I like that.

On the lighter side, my lantus shots have gone up to 32 units and is staying that way. I saw my doc on Friday and he looked at my sugar diary I have been keeping. I also asked to get a new liver specialist. I just did not like the other one and skipped out on my colonoscopy, I didn't want him in my ass.. ;D

I also went to see about starting school today. I have to go back on Wednesday for the financial aid part? Can anyone currently going to school chime in on this? I did try to go to school a few years back but then I lost my hearing so I dropped out. It was online though but I remember applying for fafsa and stuff. Forgot my password though...*lol*

Glad to see you ladies are doing well in my abscence...*lol*... Betty, I hope you are feeling better.

Not going to do much today but chill and watch the Hip Hop Awards, watching the top 100 now. And been downloading some of my faves.

Hi GFs~

I am SO excited to see Moffie back here!  Woo-hoo, he's back in the Forum!

Welcome to Charity, so sorry about your date not working out, but let that be a BIG note on the guy's character -- or lack OF.  No second chances for him, keep looking, cause there are lots of fish swimming in the same bowl!   ;)

BT, sorry you're bummed.  I get like that sometimes.  Depending on my mood I'll either be "at one with the couch" or I'll play with Cheech.  Hope you get back to feeling like your old self soon!

Queen, so you were caught up in your hair.  No wonder we didn't see you!  I know that is WORK for you to get all of that stuff done.  Glad to hear Sexy is showing you his softer side.  My sugars are nuts right now with the Levemir, mostly some very scary LOWS, but I'm adjusting.

Iceman asked me to stay at his house AGAIN tonight for the 9th night in a row.  I said I needed to do laundry cause I wasn't going "commando" to work with no undies tomorrow, lmao.  He is wonderful and looking forward to his trip this weekend on the MC!

Well, the shit hit the fan again at work for the 2nd time in a week last Friday.  Of course, I wasn't there.  PITA had a meltdown today in front of the entire dept as well as the owner of the company, the CEO and CFO.  Things have been changed AGAIN with our training to accommodate her.  We are paired up now so we can help each other out.  Not she and I, but she is with another girl in the dept, and so am I.  PITA is relieved because she can go back to the way things were with her duties, but I think it will eventually bite her in the ass when we have to be on our own in a few months.  HR asked how I was doing and I said I was good, just sick of constantly changing the plan because one person doesn't get it as well as the rest of us.  Oh well, I have been rolling along.  I'll be fine with the new plan.  We'll see what next week brings.   ::)

~Cindy

Hey ladies,

Wow, I didn't even notice Moffie was back.  I haven't been in the rest of the forums, though.

Jenny, whenever I go out, I'm always home by 9:30 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. at the latest.  So, don't think 1:30 a.m. is an early time to get home.  Of course, I'm probably about 20 or 30 years older than you are (hee)

Snow, you stopped by to say "hi," but what's going on with ya?

Charity, fuck that man!  If he didn't show up, then he's not worth your time.  I'm glad you're going back to school.  What are you going to take?

Queen, you should be able to apply for financial aid through your school.  Or, you can use the FAFSA website; I will get that and post it.  I'm going to e-mail my voc. rehab counselor about it, because pretty soon I'll be needing it.  So, as soon as I get, you'll get it. ;)  I think it's something like fafsa.edu.gov, but I could be wrong, which is why I didn't put it as a direct link.  I think that's great you're going back to school.   And hey, if I didn't feel right about a doctor, I wouldn't let him look at my ass let alone in my ass.  I did have to laugh when I read that.

Cin, I can't believe PITA had a meltdown in front of the higher-up execs.  That must have been a sight to see.  Sorry they keep changing your job; that must get frustrating.  So, Ice is asking you a lot to stay at his place.  Things really must be getting serious (I'm staying tuned).

I'm feeling a bit better this evening.  I got my government exam done.  It was 10 type-written pages (no shit).  I'm going to bitch at the teacher (not really).  I'm just glad I got it done.

The depression started yesterday.  Yesterday I didn't even take a shower or get dressed-yep, I stayed in my p.j.'s all day.  I did manage to brush my teeth.  I go through cycles like this.  It's something like Hermie (heartforyou) described in the "living with" section of the forums.  Tomorrow I have an appointment with my doc to talk about an antidepressant.  The last time I got clean I was on two that worked well.  I'm going to talk to him about going back on those.

That's it for me.  I hope Drag's doing alright.  And where the hell is mum?

Glad to hear you are taking care of your problem Betty.

I took my son to see a dentist today. His wisdom teeth are coming in and one is really killing him. He had xrays and they gave us an appointment with an oral surgeon. $1500 bucks later he will have 3 wisdom teeth removed. He doesnt have one for some reason on his lower side. Maybe God has given me a break and knows I cant even afford removing the 3 he has. LOL

So all you ladies with young ones take a note. Save money now for those wisdom teeth or make damn sure you have good dental insurance on your kid.  ;D

Hey everyone!

BT- I'm sorry that you are in a funk. I hope the doctor can help you. I bet you feel REALLY relieved to be done with that paper. That sure seems like an awful lot! Oh, before I forget, you have asked before what grade I teach..5th grade.

Queen- Do you always braid your hair? I just would not have the patience to do that. It sounds like things with Sexy are moving right along.... ;D ;D

Cindy- Wow! Such drama at work...I love it! LOL! Do you think Ice will ask you to move in? Any word on the medical office that you applied at?

Jenny- 1:30am is early???? I am in bed at 9:00pm! I get up at 5:00am though...I am definitely a morning person. Are you a native of Kentucky?

Charity- That sucks about the guy. They can be such idiots! A good one is hard to find. What are you going to study at school?

Hey Snow!

I have been wondering where Mum is too. I hope she is ok...Does anyone talk to her?

Well, today was Monday...need I say more?  :) I have been having a difficult time kicking this cough. I really should go to the doctor and maybe he can give me something. It is hard to talk in class without having a coughing fit. I am just downing cough drops. I hate being sick. I don't know if you remember but I mentioned last week that one of the little boys in my class broke his arm, well he came back today. Poor thing is trying to figure out how to function with his arm in a cast and a sling. The other kids are helping him out so that is good. Well I need to get busy with "homework". My principal put a book in everyone's mailbox and assigned each grade level a chapter to read before the staff meeting tomorrow...excuse me, homework? Well a lot of the teacher were totally upset, myself included. I mean I already have to take work home and now she wants to read chapters and be ready to teach the others the main points? Our union rep. called the union president and he said that it was ridiculous that we had to do that. My principal just needs to retire. She has had many complaints...oh well...we are all hoping she doesn't have much longer...

Have a good night everyone!  :)

Ladies!! sorry i havent been on in ages. Ive been away, after coming back from france i worked for a week or so and went away again. I hooked up with other pozzies someplace beautiful. It was not as I thought it would be (what is?) but Im still glad I went, even though it cost twice as much as planned. I learned a lot being with people who are 20++ years poz. it was, for me, an intense and sometimes very difficult emotional experience. not exactly a restful holiday before the wedding, which I could use.

I am not married yet, I'll be off to get married next (not the coming) weekend, and it will happen the following week.

My arm hurts again, today i have phisio which i hadnt had for ages b/c of all the traveling. so I cant be here as much as Id like.

some good news is that probabaly I'll cross the pond later this year and visit the east AND the west coast and even stick around for a while on the east coast. at least, my bosses want to send me. but they dont know that we are trying to get pregnant and maybe even do fertility treatment and that things could change a lot. they do know I am poz though, thank God I told them back in the day when i wasnt thinking clearly. Had I thought I wouldnt have told them and then I'd be so tense about it.

I think I will wait to see who is elected b4 I commit to the trip. I doubt a republican would sign the US HIV travel ban cancellation. But maybe Im wrong. asides from my own little issues, of course the whole world is holding its breath. On election day (night here), there will be a "white night" in the Dutch town where I live, and everyone will be watching satellite tv. I cannot tell you how tense I am for the elections. Everytime I catch sight of McPalin I get literal shivers. God help us. Im glad to be living in europe and for my brother also who is doing good so we can get my parents away from the iranian reach if need be. The whole world is dependent on america, but some places, even more... I am missing my parents like crazy and losing sleep over abandoning them. I am 100% sure of marrying the right person except for this price. But he isnt near his family either so cant complain. I wish I didnt have to be away, but I was away even before I met him, but the fact of making it formal - as overjoyed as I am about it - is making me sad and worried and just happy and heartsick at once.

Wendy I havent had those apples since I was eating cotton candy the last time there was a worm in it! those are always sold at faires here. 1500 to extract a couple of teeth, yikes!
Please give my belated condolences to Billy.

Snow, how's it going? Hope things are calmer now

Queen, as Borat would say, it's Sexy Time!

Betty, in the haze of your depression, you did manage to complete a 10 page government exam. now that would depress me also. I have a feeling that when you have outside appointments you get out of it, thats how it is with me at least. I always crave nothing to do but when i get there I feel anxious, scared and empty. Hope you dont get fined for the books, you can try calling them next time nand say that you dont feel well and will drive out the next day. maybe you can even email. they usually just want to be acknowledged...

Jenny, Charity - hello! I love bowling, although i suck at it. Charity, that guy is a wanker, probabaly better he never showed up, although upsetting...

Viv, just scan it...  ;) lots of coughing going round here too.

Moon, 9 days huh.... I have a hunch where this is going  ;D ;D ;D sounds like PITA is doing a great job digging a hole for herself, now you just have to stand aside and watch her trip into it. what happened with that doctor's office job? sorry I may have missed that.

Tendai, Im glad your enjoying the company. you always know to make the best of it somehow, you are really something else woman and God I hope things start moving in the right direction there already. Love you.

Netta, glad you're connected again.

I hope all the ladies I havent mentioned are doing great and warm regards to all. I'll try to catch up more but things are really becoming hectic now. I will def. be reading though.

Much love to all you ladies, xoxo

Hey Ladies,

Hows it going. Nothing much going on for me. This accounting class is really getting on my nerves to the fullest. Had to take DD to the ER last night. She has some kind of bug. Other than that nothing but work and school. I'm kind of tired this morning. Didnt get back from the ER until about 1 this morning and had to be up at 5:30.

Drag- Hey Chick long time no hear.

Queen- Did you do micros to your hair.

BT- How you doing. I know you ready to get out of class. GOod luck.

Wini- Thanks for the advice. My 9 year old has to go today and get all his baby teeth pull because they haven't come out.

Viv- HEy!!!

To all my other chicka's I hope all is well.

Good morning everyone!

Queen-Ahhh good ole colonoscopies, ewwwwwyyyy.

Moon-Don't ya just hate politics at work...ughhhh!

BT-Glad you feel better. I have been taking Lexapro (previously took Zoloft) and I love it. Zoloft made me gain over 100lbs in a year. So far no weight gain with Lexapro. Hope the appointment goes well.

Win-Man that is expensive. I go to the School of Dentistry for my dental work and it is cheap, sure they might accidentally screw up since they are in training, buy hey, I save a few bucks. Hope he does well with it.

Viv-Yep, I am a Kentucky native, lived in NYC for a bit.

Dragon- That trip sounds awesome!

Keeping- Oh poor thing, what kind of bug? Stomach bug? Is she doing better?

Nothing new here. Of course child support didn't show up in my bank account this morning so I am screwed. I called the girls father and he always gets nasty with me, like I am stealing money from him. He lives in NYC and never sees the girls and has even asked on several occasions if he could sign over his rights. Ummmmm, no thanks. He claims they took the money from his paycheck, but who knows what happened to it from there.

Have a good one!

Morning ladies,

Wendy, I believe that price.  When I had mine done (about 22 years ago) it was expensive.  You're so right about saving money for tooth problems.  Of course, if your kid lives 1/2 way across the country (like mine does) then they're on their own. ;D

Andrea, I wouldn't like to have your own homework when you're busy grading other peoples'.  Good luck.

Drag, it sure is good to hear from you.  So, you might come to the U.S.?  Really, I think no matter who wins, the HIV ban will be repealed.  If by some chance (God help us) McCain gets in, he won't want to right away start making enemies (more than he has).  I'm not voting for him, don't get me wrong.  But I think he would sign the repeal also.  I know the rest of the world is watching us right now; especially with the stock market crashing due to the current financial distress.  But it'll bounce back.  If you watch the news all the time, they'd have you believing the sky is falling.  But, the stock market rises and falls every day.  It'll come back, probably just not as fast as some people would like (like the CEO's who make millions off others' backs).  I can't believe you're getting married in a couple weeks.  You must really be excited.

Keeping, I hate going to the ER.  Is DD better?  Anything seriously wrong?  It takes forever at the ER and it's so hard to wait.  You must have a lot of patience.

Jenny, I hope the child support gets into your account today.  So, the father wants to sign off his parental rights?  But you don't want him to?  Is that because the child support will stop?  I don't know these things, since my daughter's father never paid while he was alive (he never signed away his rights though).  I didn't know you were a Native of Kentucky.  You know, I just live in Indiana (South Bend).  We're not really that far away from each other-only about five hours.  I've driven through Kentucky several times when my brother used to live in Alabama and I used to go see him.

I'm alright this morning.  Running a bit behind, but that's alright.  I'm just going to pay the library what I owe them (probably online, so I can use my debit card) and check out a couple more books.

Oh Drag, you said you think I tend to cancel outside appointments?  I used to; I try not to do that anymore.  I still sometimes think I'd rather be doing nothing or something else; but then when it comes down to it, I know I need to go, so I usually do.  I used to cancel them though.  My poor mum, she would always give me rides to my appointments and she never knew if I was going to keep them or not.  Sometimes she would drive over from the next city and I would tell her I cancelled them.  She was such a gem for not ringing my neck.

Anyway, just going to the doctor's, library, then that horrid class tonight (Microeconomics).  I was on Zoloft before and it worked well.  So, I'm going to ask him for that.  If he doesn't like that, well, I'll just handle it from there.  I hope all you ladies have a good day.
Title: Re: Ladies' Thread - Part 47: "Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana."
Post by: jennynyc7 on October 07, 2008, 10:17:34 am

BT- Yeah, if he signs off his rights then he will not have to pay child support, which of course is not an option. I took the girls there this past June to visit him (was going there on a business trip anyway) but he has (and won't) not made an effort to come see them. He doesn't even call them. Of course they are only 2 (she will be 3 on Oct 19) and the other turned 4 early September so they don't really get it. The youngest one actually still refers to my ex (who infected me) as her Daddy. He really was great to my girls, and to me to be honest, I just didn't love him anymore. He was willing to adopt them and assume all financial responsibility. Anyway, the girls father is just really immature. He is my age (32) but is with an 18 year old. Wow, you are pretty close to me. I am in Louisville. Have you ever been to the Derby? Man, one of us may have to make a road trip sometime in the near future!!!

Just getting back in from my support group, not much else going on really. I'm sitting here watching "holiday heart" with Ving Rhames as a drag queen. I liked the movie, I'm going to have to find it. A little bummed because this Friday is my son's bday and I don't have any money to put on his books at jail. I did write him a letter though. Other than that, nada. I'll check back in later.

Oh Drag, you said you think I tend to cancel outside appointments?  I used to; I try not to do that anymore.

No Betty, that was just my awkward grammer. I meant that appts. tend to get one out of depression, at least they do me and I feel that you too. But when I have less things that force me to contact things outside my home/office (where I sit alone and far from everyone so unless I make appointments for lunch or coffee I can pass the whole day not talking, very wierd and happens a lot) I tend to be less depressed. More irritated maybe but less depressed.
I'd probably try to get out of paying the library by using some excuse. I am not above that  ;D. Glad you're doing better. Good to hear.

Yes, if I dont get pregant its likely I'll go to the US. Thanks for the encouraging words re the ban and the economic crisis. It seems that my boss's wife objects to me going to the west coast as well. How is it her business? really it isn't... thats ok with me. whatever.

I've been binging aaahhhrr. that's the VERY LAST thing I should be doing. I was on such a right track with my weight until all that traveling. I am getting all bridezilla now I'm afraid - just told the BF he'd have to dine alone as of tomorrow b/c I'll be on the ginger-maple syrop-lemon-pepper diet.

Keeping, hope your daughter is better. That's a short night you had. Being a parents is so incredibly challenging, that I want and fear it in equal measures.

Jen I wrote you back  ;)

Have a great night ladies, I'm off to bed soon

Hi Ladies. Lucas and I are both doing better. I work 20 hours night shift at the hospital on the weekends. That's why you don't usually hear from me then, and Monday is always a catch up day for housework. Nothing special happening today. Thursday Lucas goes to the neurologist for a check up visit for his Cerebal Palsy. He's doing so good I don't anticipate any problems.

Keeping - I hope your DD feels better. As much as I hate being sick I'd rather it was me than Lucas.

Viv - I hope you are feeling better.

BT - I'm glad you're feeling a little better and hope that you can get what you need from the doctor to make you feel a lot better. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Cindy - Things sound good with you and Ice. I'm glad you're having fun and meeting his friends. Too bad you weren't there to watch PITA go off infront of the big wigs. I would have wanted a front row seat for that show ;D.

Charity - I'm sorry you were hurt, but glad he showed his colors now rather than messing with you for a while first. There are lots of frogs out there, but there are also princes. I hope you find yours soon.

Well that's about it for now. I hope you all have a goodnight.

Amy

The entire accounting dept was in with the big-wigs in a meeting the other day, so YES, we all saw PITA cry and whine.  Emotions were running deep but she was in a league of her own.  More on the recent changes this weekend...short version:  My new teammate at work hasn't done any of her work for the past week so I played catch up today to help her.  She has some deadlines to meet, but really, she has been slacking perhaps?

I am still waiting to hear back from the interview I had at the doc's office.  Hopefully I will make it to round #2!

And before I forget and before she disappears again......   ;D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DRAG!!!!!!!!!

Isn't your birthday October 18th, Drag?

More soon, The Biggest Loser and then the biggest losers (Obama and McCain) are on TV tonight!  LOL

Since Billy is totally into the presidential election and enjoys debates and all news regarding the nominees our TV will be tuned to the debate. I doubt I will watch the entire thing but I will likely hear plenty of it while playing on pogo.com.

I cant remember what PITA stands for all these initials for people in our lives doesnt seem to stick in my head.

Happy early birthday Drag. I hope your wedding turns out to be everything your heart desires.

Jenny - I'm usually in bed by 10:30 and staying up past midnight is rare.

Get better soon Viv

Charity sorry the date stood you up. I think someone else already said it but try to think of it as a good thing. At least he didnt screw around with you for a couple of weeks and then leave you. Your better off. There are some nice guys out there but the shit heads are a dime a dozen. Its likely good you didnt have the chance to fall in love with mr no show.
I've met my fair share of guys I wish did not show up. LOL

Hey ladies,
I haven't been on in awhile, so I thought I would check in. I hope everyone is well. I have just been working really. I had an interview for a promotion a few days ago, and now I am just waiting for the verdict. I turned 27 on sunday. It was a pretty low key birthday, just did some shopping and had dinner with a friend. I moved into a much nicer apartment about a month ago. I am so glad to be away from the dump I was in. Plus, I have a washer and dryer now :)
I am talking with this guy, but it's much too soon to be saying anything about my status. We'll see if it gets far enough that I need to disclose. Hopefully, but we will see.
I hope everyone is having a good night!

Hey ladies!! I just got back my first lab results.  My CD4s were at 723 and my VL was at 14000, so I don't have to start on meds yet unless I want to.  I was relieved that the disease hasn't progressed rapidly.  All the talk about about meds has got my head spinning though.   ??? ???   I think my little brain has reached its capacity and is shutting down, lol.  I'll just take my time for now to make a decision.

I've been in a pretty good mood these days.  Next week I get to take some time off.  My SO will be off too.  Yay!

BT65: It must be really exciting working for the Obama campaign.  I hear the atmosphere is really electric in those offices.  Hope your spirits begin to improve.

#1 Mom:  I'm glad you and Lucas are feeling better!!!

Keepingfaith:  You must be exhausted.  I guess it's definitely the season for cold and flu

Moonlight:  Iceman definitely knows how to keep a girl happy.  Nothing I like better than good food.  He's definitely a keeper!!!  Hope the pain gets better.

Jenny, Moonlight:  I'm baaaaad about buying new undies too!

Jenny:  Your girl's father sounds like a real jerk!

Hi Netta!!!

Hi Snowangel!!  Congrats on your daughter losing her first tooth.  It must be fun playing tooth fairy.  :)

VivyT:  You're so lucky that you have a friend you can open up to.  I think we all have people who would really be there for us if we gave them a chance.  I know I would have been there for any friend if they were in my shoes.

Winiroo:   Those candied apples look soooo delicious.  I used to love those when I was a kid.  I love this time of year.  I would probably have eaten all of them at one time.  Since there are apples iin them, that makes it healthy, lol.  $1500 for dentistry.  Yikes!!!

Dragon:  Congrats on the wedding!!!!  I hope everything is beautiful!!!

Charity:  Congrats on getting your schooling set!!  Men are definitely frustrating at times.  That one that stood you up is definitely a loser and in the long run he did you a favor.  I hate that I wasted so much of my life with losers.  At least it helps you to appreciate when good guys come along.  Seems like Maxine's love life is doing well though, lol.

Hi Queen!!  So is Sexy your fella???  Hope you get your financial aid straightened out.  I've been hearing on the news about how so many people are having problems due to the bailout mess.

Pink_beauty:  Happy Birthday!!!!!!!   I hope you get some good news on that promotion.  Oh, and good luck on the fella.  I have had a good time reading about all the fellas on this board.

Morning ladies,

Drag, you've got a birthday coming up, aye?  Well, happy birthday girlie!  Really, I hope your day is special.  You deserve it.   About getting out, yeah, I'm usually less depressed when I do get out.  Of course, sometimes I can come up with excuses why I don't also.  The library told me there was a day's grace period on books, so I didn't have to pay anything.

Queen, I'm glad you got your password.  I never can remember mine.  Good luck with that.

Cin, so you saw PITA have a break-apart?  Wow, I would love to see that.  It's always the people who complain and goof off the much that fall apart the easiest when the job gets tough, isn't it.

Wendy, there have been a lot of guys that I wished wouldn't have showed up either.  I watched about 10 minutes of the debate.  I'm a bit disappointed in myself, since I'm always telling people how important it is they vote etc.

Pink, happy belated birthday.

Sweet C, those are great numbers!  Congratulations.  Forgive me, but I can't remember when you tested positive.  Yeah, you don't have to make a decision right now about which meds to take etc.  When the time comes for that, your doctor will most likely do resistance testing anyway to see which ones you might not be able to take.

Only two more Microeconomics classes! Last night the professor was mentioning how America is capitalistic, which is why we have the largest gross domestic product in the world.  Of course, this all sounds good, but it also means jobs sent overseas for cheaper labor (or to Mexico), machines that replace people etc.  So, I guess on one hand it's good, because it keeps us competitive, on the other it's really bad because it puts people out of work.  I mentioned Wal-Mart (yeah, I do go there very occasionally, but I don't like them).

Today I'm going to run to the store and then I've got my Government class tonight.  I hope we're not there all night.  The teacher of this class can tend to ramble.  Have a good day ladies.

Just checking in before I have to go to the school to try to get financial aid. It's rainy over here today and I pretty much slept in, I didn't get up til after 12 pm. I haven't done that in a long time. Have been talking with Sexy though we haven't gotten together lately. It seems like it is one thing or another but it's ok. No, he is not my man, just a friend-----have to lol cause that reminds me of that Biz Markie song..You know the one," And she says she's just a friend, oh baby, you, you got what I need".... ;D

Keeping---Yes, I did do micros and you know how long that takes. But I do my hair myself to save a couple of dollars plus when other people do my hair they seem to make it fall out instead of grow. I guess I have growing hands because my hair has gotten much longer when I take the braids out. My hair is past my shoulders now but I still want it longer so I can wear my own hair in a long style, not braids.

Cindy---Those crabs sounded yummy. I remember when I lived in Florida and we use to catch lobster and cook it with beer. And garlic crabs, they would stink up the joint but they were banging. I know Drag is getting married soon but when are you? Ice is a catch girl, I am waiting for the day he proposes to you. And I want to be flower girl, break the rules, who says the flower girl has to always be a kid? ;D

I did not watch the debates, I never do. I just hate all the bickering and mudslinging. Why go through all that? Just do what the hell you say you are going to do, why waste the time and energy digging up dirt on the next man. I will be glad when it is all over honestly.

I gotta go, almost time to get ready to go to the school. I will keep you all posted, wish me luck.

Good luck at the school Queen!

Well, I am in default on some school loans from before. So, now I have get them consolidated or some crap. Fill out an application from OVR, which is about 30 pages long and then wait to see if they will accept me. If so, then they will pay part of my tuition but they move slow so I may not end up in school til around January....Major Bummer.... :-[

BT65--I tested positive on September 11.  I think I was infected late last year or early this year.  Don't worry about missing the debate.  All the highlights have been covered over and over in the news, and there really nothing new to learn.  I only watch the debates for the potential drama.  I get more information reading about it online.

Queen--Sorry you're having to deal with student loans.  I definitely feel your pain.  I've been out of school for ten years and haven't made a dent in them because I've managed to forbear.  I'm banking on there being a huge student loan bailout or something.  It's insane the amount of money the student loan companies make off of us!  Okay, rant over.

Moonlight--Well at least I see you got a really hot pic of Billy Baldwin!!  Mmmmmm...

Hello ladies,

This week has been going by so fast, but I like that. I heard from my boss, I am a finalist in the hunt to become the new supervisor. I have a second interview this friday. I am nervous, but confident (sorry for the misspelling)

I can't wait for this weekend. I will be buying myself an early b-day present. I being at a friends home playing Guitar Hero. I feel in love with it. It was so much fun playing some of my favorite music.

I got pretty good. So this weekend I will be buying a gaming system and the game. Plus a larger TV for my room. I am glad this is working out for me.

I am excited for what might happen soon.

Nothing new to report on the men side. I am thinking about join this singles group called "Events and Adventures" Something to do with single people. I think it will be fun and it cost about the same as going a gym.

I will check back in later. Love you all.

Thanks

Charity

OK, let's try this again, lmao.....   :D

Win~ PITA = Pain In The Ass  :D , and I fell asleep during the Presidential debate.  Seems I didn't miss much!

Pink~ Happy Birthday to YOU!  Congrats on the new place with the W/D, too!

Sweet~  You have a great CD4 count, just be sure to keep an eye on your VL and to keep your appts with your doctor.  A lot of us have been poz well into double-digit years.  December will be 15 years for me, I can't believe it.

Betty~  PITA's mood changes like the wind.  I've come to realize its her whining that has brought us other three down.  Its OK, she'll still crash and burn.  I told my boss that even after this buddy-system training we're doing now, PITA will still hit a brick wall when we're all on our own in a few months.

Side note:  I didn't get the job at the doctor's office.  I got the rejection letter today (when I finally got my ass back to MY house lol).  Oh well, I'll do more searching over the weekend.  Onward, I say!

Queen~ Sorry about the crap with financial aid.  I hope you can consolidate and start anew next semester.  As for Iceman, he is so good to me.  I can't believe he had me stay over for so many nights.  I had to come back the one time to get more meds and dog food, lol.  As for a proposal, I don't mention the "m" word.  His divorce will be final soon and I really want to give him space to breathe.  Although, he's not the typical male who likes to run around and date (obviously).  He said months ago really likes to be with one girl.  I thought time would tell a different story, but he is very loyal.  His buddies at the crab feast really liked me, too.  They said I was cracking jokes like I was one of the guys, lol.

Hi Charity~  You posted while I did.  I love Guitar Hero.  Iceman bought GH3 and has a huge TV that we play it on.  I am on Medium level and singing along to the Iron Maiden and Scorpions tunes, lol!  Good luck with the promotion at work!

OK, so the Billy Baldwin picture above?  Before I LOST my last post, I was typing that I had to go watch Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money.  I have always liked Billy Baldwin, ever since I saw him in the 1991 movie "Backdraft" about the firemen.  I saw him on Oprah back then and thought he was adorable.  Then he did a full-length naked butt shot in the movie "Sliver" with Sharon Stone.  Remember that one?  He was the peeping Tom landlord guy or something.  I haven't been the same since.

I figured since Ice is drooling over Brooke Burke on Dancing with the Stars, I can admire a handsome guy.  Hee hee!  At least Iceman is real, though.   ;D

I am off work tomorrow for the Jewish holiday and have a million things to do, lol.

Nighty night.  Cristy and Mum, where are you GFs?...................

Morning ladies,

Queen, I hope the school can get something worked out for you with those student loans.  I've had to take out a few to deal with the rising cost of tuition (my school is $298/credit hour) and I don't look forward having to pay them back.  Anyway, I'm sure the school can work out something.  Did you have them before you went on disability?  If you did, you may be able to get them discharged based on your disability.

SweetC, I watched the debate yesterday afternoon on CNN and parts of it again last night in my government class.  Obama seems like he's more together with details of his platform than does McCain.  Cin (Moonlight) is right about people here being in the double digit years of being infected.  Next Feb. will be 20 for me.

Charity, good for you for treating yourself to a birthday present.  What are you going to be taking in school?  And good luck with the 2nd interview.

Cin, the biggest thing I like about you is your positive attitude.  It does help me.  Now, I've got to see that movie where Billy Baldwin does full nudity.  I always appreciate a good looking naked male. ;)

Andrea, good to hear from you.  I really wish you'd get to the doctor.  A cough that lasts this long isn't normal.  You're not a smoker, are you?

I'm up early.  There's going to be a "Women and Aids" conference today put on by the local ASO that I'm going to.  It's from 9-3.  Hopefully I'll learn something I didn't know (new breakthroughs, local services available etc.).  My doctor was supposed to be a speaker but had to cancel, so one of the case managers is going to do his part.  I don't really like this person, but I don't know her all that well either.

Last night in my government class we watched parts of the debate.  There's this one guy, in his 50's, who's been in the Marine Corp, who at the beginning of class identified as Republican.  Well, now he says he's voting for Obama (yay).  He says he always votes his conscious.  What does that tell ya.  Anyway, I'm going to check out a couple more threads before I have to get ready.  You ladies have a good day.

Good Morning!

Well I had another long night with the neighbor banging at all hours. I swear it sounds like he is bouncing a ball off the wall. I think I am going to have to complain to the home owner's association and just deal with whatever he does to me. I can't stand it!!!

Win- I wanted to to laugh when you mentioned earlier about pogo.com. I am a member myself and have spent and evening/afternoon on there. I get fixated on certain games...I guess I am in good company LOL!

BT- Yeah, I need to go to the doctor. I am not a smoker. It is just hard to find time to go and I keep hoping it will go away but I guess it isn't. The morning is the worst.

It is almost Friday!!!! Tonight I have another Math seminar. We have to do several follow-up meetings from the week I spent in the summer in order to get the other half of our money. I am not looking forward to it but I know it always turns out better once I get there.

Have a good day!

Hi GFs~

Yes, BT, I am usually all smiles and bubbly, but I see right through any bull that people (at work) try to pull over on me.  I figure, out of respect for people around me, put on a happy face.  They don't need to be brought down by me or know what I'm really dealing with.  Its a privacy thing (with all of these health probs!) and no one has a clue what I'm really all about unless I let them in.  Hee hee, I'm a secretive one, really.   :P

OK, "Sliver"  that's like a thin "sliver" of cheese or something, NOT the color silver.  That's the name of the movie about a high-rise apt bldg that looks like a sliver up in the sky.  It was released in 1993 with Sharon Stone and Billy Baldwin.  To think all I could do was pause the VHS tape back then and gawk at a blurry frozen frame of his butt, lol.  I might have to see it again on DVD where it can do some REAL damage to me, lol.

Viv~  Sorry you haven't been feeling well and that the neighbors are noisy. I am VERY sensitive to noise.  I absolutely hate it when people carry on.  I start thinking, "Don't they know they share this area/wall with me?"

Your sleep is the most important, so maybe you need to change your bedroom furniture around?  Make sure your head is furthest away from their wall, even if you have to put it in the corner on a diagonal.  Maybe get a couple extra throw pillows for your bed which you can insulate yourself with to keep out noise.

If its vibrations/thumping, more so than volume coming through the wall, then you can try earplugs, too.  It really makes a difference!  Don't get the cheap sponge ones, get the WAX ones.  All over the package they say DO NOT insert into ear canal, but that's exactly what I do, lol.  I break a nickel-sized piece of wax earplug in two, roll it into a bullet shape and jam it into my ear.  It creates suction and you don't hear a thing.  Where I live, this brand of earplug is called "Mack's" and you'd better believe I buy the 12-pack.   ;D  I also keep a fan going in my room at night year-round, even if its facing the wall in the winter.  It makes "white noise."

Find out what HOA can do if it gets worse.  In my hood, they send letters of increasing warning to the party at fault, with the end result being a fine after 3 warnings.  If this is the case in your complex, then you just might have a leg to stand on.  Who knows?  Maybe other tenants are complaining as well about this same person.

Did I mention I am very sensitive to noise?  LOL   :P

Andrea, please see a doctor.  You don't want this developing into pneumonia.  I can't remember-have you or anyone else ever called the police on that person making all that noise?  Cin gives some good suggestions also.

Cin, yeah, I don't usually open up much about physical problems I'm having with other people.  I remember hearing about the movie "Sliver" but never saw it.  Now I'm going to have to.

The Women and AIDS conference was alright.  I ended up speaking on a panel during one of the last hours.  The care coordinator I really didn't care for asked me, and nicely, so I can't really dislike her (hee).  I didn't learn anything new and left right after I spoke.  I had had pretty much enough and only stayed around because they asked me to speak. It was a bunch of statistics, nothing more.  There was a rep from Walgreen's pharmacy who was going to speak and I thought "oh no.  I'm not staying for that."  Anyway, kind of a boring day.  I hope you ladies have a good evening.

I made candied apples again. The last ones I made with Gala apples and found that the apple got soft on the insides from the heat of the candy. This time I tried Fuji apples. Wayyy better. Crisp and juicy. Fuji wins.

Netta- I am so sorry to hear about your nephew.  I will keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.

Win-  Good to know about the fuji's.  A lady at the local farmers market makes carmel apples with chocolate and/or nuts, heath bar pieces, coconut...they are HEAVENLY.  I think she uses the green ones though, I just had a brain fart and can't remember the name of them. How have you been feeling?

Viv- Listen to BT and go the doc.  Have the kids at school been sick too?

Keeping- How are things going with you?

BT- Sorry the conference was boring.  I think I would be bored to tears, too.

I had to drive back to where I am from originally today to get a modification for visitation for my son and his father.  He got out of jail on Saturday and has been leaving messages at my mothers house.  They are going to send me something in the mail and then I have to go to the sheriffs office to have it served, hopefully by then I can get his address.  He has been given enough chances to get his shit together, he can wait till my son is 18 and old enough to protect himself and drive away, if he has too.

I hope everyone is doing well.

(((((Netta))))) I'm so sorry!! That's terrible!! What a senseless act.  I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Charity:  Good luck on the interview!!!  When do you find out????  I tend to get addicted to computer games too, but I haven't played in a few years.  Seems like everyone is into
Guitar Hero.  I joined a group kinda like that on meetup.com.  It really transformed my life.  It was nice way to get out of the house.  I was definitely busy.

Cindy:  I have a PITA in my office too.  Luckily, I can avoid mine most days, thank goodness.  15 years, wow...I was surprised by how many people on this board had been living with it for 10+ years.  It's so good to have people to look up to.

((((Vivy))))):  Hope you can get to the doctor soon.

BT65:  That sounds like a cool event at your ASO.  I haven't been to mine yet.  I'm not even sure how it works or what to expect there?  Can I just drop in??  It's amazing how well Obama seems to be doing in the polls.  I love how people you would never expect are voting for him.  He's even losing in on McCain here in GA.

Wini:  Mmmmmmm.   I can't wait for Halloween.

Snowangel:  Hope you can get that sorted out.  Sounds like your son will definitely be better off.  How old is your son??

It's almost the weekend.  Yay.  I'm supposed to be going to Six Flags.  I love going at this time of year during Fright Fest.

Glad you are feeling OK, are your guests gone? That would make me feel better ;D!

Sweet C- My son is 10.  I haven't gone to Six Flags at all this year and I have one 20 minutes away, if that :(.  Hope you have fun!!

Hi ladies,

Netta, I am sad and shocked to hear about this terrible crime. You are in my thoughts.

Andrea, your neighbour should be committed. Be careful aggrevating him. I use silicone earplugs myself, i think they are also Mack's. Good luck with the police and everything.

Snow, I am so very glad to hear you can make "it" stay away from you & your kids and the police are behind you, way to go.

Cindy, Betty, Wendy, thanks so much for the B-day wishes, they are heartwarming and it is indeed next week.

Ive been running around in near-panic in the last days, everything is coming up at once and all I want to do is be alone somewhere peaceful. this is normal I guess. nothing stops b/c you get married.

Sending big hugs to everyone and sorry for being so short

I was thinking Granny Smiths too.  I might have to make some at Iceman's house this weekend.

Well, he just rolled out to meet the guys for the Wild Hogs trip to NC.  I am nervous with worry.  Its over 9hrs, prob more on a MC.  They are staying at a cozy cottage next to a lake in the mts of western NC.

Go Hogs, go!   :-*

Afternoon ladies,

Netta, I am so, so sorry for your loss.  What a horrible thing.  You're in my thoughts.

Cin, what a nice time of year for a m.c. trip.  It sounds like he'll have fun.

Snow, I hope you can get that paperwork through without incident and that SB will be out of your son's life.  That's the best thing that could happen for you and your son.

Wendy, glad you're feeling alright.

Sweet C, have fun at Six Flags.

I'm supposed to be leaving in a few minutes to meet my old psychology teacher for lunch. We've kept in touch through e-mail (she's an Obama fan like I am).  I was wishing I had her phone number though, because I really don't feel like going.  I'm pretty tired and achey. I guess that's part of getting older.  I haven't exercised this week, maybe that has another thing to do with it.  Of course, when lunch is over I do have the option of coming home and snoozing for awhile.

I was thinking about going to a movie today or tomorrow, but am undecided on which to see.  I'd really like to see the new Coen brothers movie, I think it's called "Burn After Reading."  I'd also like to see "Religulous," the new Bill Mahr movie.  I can't wait until Oliver Stone's "W" comes out about Bush.  That should really be a good one.

I don't have any elaborate plans for the weekend.  I might go to an NA meeting tomorrow night.  Today, after lunch, I'm going to hit the bed. :)  You ladies have a good day.

OMG, 560 miles, left at 545am and Iceman is STILL on the road with the Wild Hogs.  The guys are less than an hour from their destination, but ran into traffic or something down in western Virginia.

If I had balls, I would be freezing them off by now.   :o

At least he's getting all of this riding in.  It should hold him over for awhile until the next event.  Hee!   :D

Hello!

Netta- I am sorry. What a shock! You are in my prayers

Cindy-That sure is a long ride on a motorcycle!

BT-I hope you enjoyed your nap. I am jealous. Right now I am so tired but I'm not ready to go to bed.

Drag- Enjoy your day! It's VERY soon right?

Sweet C- I haven't been to Six Flags in years. I feel like going to Knotts Scary Farm.

Snow- Hey there... :)

Well another week is over. I have not gone to the doctor yet for my cough, I know, I know. I did get a call from my gyno with the results from my repeat pap. Remember I had the colposcopy and my doctor wanted to do another test? Well, the nurse said the doctor needs me to come in. Great. I'm sure there is probably another test she wants to do. Oh well...I just have to figure out when I can get in. I may have to take a day off of work...what a hassle. I wonder if all this is related to the HIV? I need to ask.

I get to see my old friend tomorrow and I am very excited. I plan on telling her about my status. I'll let you all know how that goes. I don't really have anything happening...I'm just tired. Have a good night everyone!

Morning ladies,

Cin, 560 miles, aye?  Wow.  That's a long ride, but I'm sure they really enjoy it.  They probably don't complain about the weather.  I'm sure when they get there, they all scratch themselves and let out loud burps.

Andrea, girl, you better get to the doctor with that cough.  I know, sometimes it seems like we don't have time to go to the doctor, but do you have time to take off work when you're too sick to go in?  Hmmmm? ;)   I'm sorry to hear about you having to go back in for the gyn stuff.  Women with HIV are more likely to have gyn problems, that was shown to be true long ago.  Do you know where your numbers are at?   And good luck telling your friend.  Please let us know what happens.

It's a chilly morning, but supposed to get into the high 70's today.  I don't know yet, other than study, what I'm going to do today.  I was actually thinking about going to see that movie, but I'm undecided.  If it were going to be chilly all day, I'd probably stay in my jammees.  You ladies have a good day.

Well, I never heard back from Iceman last night.  They were at rest stops at 10pm and 11pm, and he said they were less than an hour from the cottage.  I was on Virtual Earth looking at all of the roads down there, waiting for him to call.  I finally got to bed at midnight and fell asleep with the lights on, waking up at 245am, and he hadn't sent a text.  I am leery of calling now cause they are probably just waking up and are very sore from the ride.

Andrea~  I have been poz nearly 15 years and had my one colposcopy back in '96, right after my husband died.  Everything came back normal, it just seems that GYNs are on high-alert when they hear you are poz.  After you've been their patient for awhile and they see that you're doing well, they calm down a little bit.  I don't blame a doc for being aggressive when there's a potential problem, though.  Lord knows my PCP put me through the ringer in Spring '07 with my perception probs.

Oh, I also had a uterine biopsy in Spring '08 after an abnormal Pap and it was fine, too.  Other than the pill not being effective from Sustiva taxing my liver, I haven't had any probs.  I told my GYN a year ago that I wanted to stop the pill in order to regulate my cycle.  I am doing fine now.  *High Five*   :D

BT~Yep, I hope the guys are getting their morning coffee and not squeaking too much as they try to move.  Ice said during the middle of the ride yest that his butt hurt, lol.  He is down there with three buddies from the program, which I think is really nice.  They are going to hit a couple of meetings down there, took the laptop and everything to do a search.  :)  I feel like staying in my jammies, too, today.  Maybe I'll go to the store and buy some apples.  Win's candied apples looked SO yummy!  I also have a recipe for chocolate cake that you make in a mug in the microwave.  It only takes five minutes.  I haven't tried it, but I am anxious to see how it would turn out.

Speaking of food....I ran into an old co-worker at the bank Thursday and I was wearing a babydoll style shirt to hide my lipo gut.  She said, "Oh, are we expecting?"  Oh dear God. ???  I told her I was just trying to hide my gut and laughed it off.  I have gained twenty pounds since she last saw me in December, and she is about 4'11" and must weigh 90 pounds.  Oh well, at least I am alive. ;D

I am going to go feed Cheech and work on tracking these blood sugars.  They are all over the place.

~Cindy

Cin, don't worry about being asked if you're pregnant.  I've been asked that too many times to count.  Sometimes I want to say "yep, I'm just trying to figure out which one the daddy is." ;)

BT and Cindy-

I just had to laugh when I heard that! The other day a parent of a former student was at the school and I was asking how her son was doing, blah, blah, blah, and she asked if I was pregnant! I laughed and said no, I was just fat! She was totally embarrassed. That day I was wearing a dress that kind of has that effect so I couldn't blame her. I don't even have a belly, just big boobs LOL! So funny. I'm not wearing that dress again.... :)

I mean, don't ALL women know that THAT is THE question NOT to ask a female?  EVER?!

I say they need to mind their own fricking business, lol.  I made the mistake of asking a vet tech that about 12 years ago and will never forget it.  She just replied, "No, I like to eat."  I learned my lesson and felt so bad, that I never never never ask that question anymore.  If someone is pregnant, they usually won't shut up about it, lol.

That's what we get for having big boobs, too, lol!

Iceman called about 15 minutes ago.  He used his buddy's phone cause he doesn't have reception in them there hills where they're at.  He said they got in at 3am last night.  :o   I told him that when he checked in at 11pm and said they only had an hour to go, that I checked online.  At that point they were still 180 miles from their destination.

Now they are hunting and gathering for breakfast.  LOL   :D

I really don't know where to start, so I'm just going to jump in, and start venting.
I recently quit my job, because I felt like my boss was undressing me with his eyes. I asked the over head of the company to switch me to another team, and he declined my request. I have serious issues when it comes to men. I don't trust them, you know with me being raped and all. So for the last 4 weeks I have been in my apartment secluded from the world because this is where I feel the safest. I have not slept in the last 72 hours because. I'm on constant guard. I feel like I'm protecting myself from someone. I check my peep whole at least 20 time out the day. I am seeing a psych who suggested that I go and apply for ssi, because he feels that I am bipolar/ skitsafrantic, because I told him that I have days that I feel like I'm being raped all over again, and It actually feel like I'm there.

My family is supportive because I finally disclosed my status, however I often feel like something they will never understand what I'm going through. I had no one to talk and no where to turn so I decided to come to you tall, because I know that you wont judge me, and maybe one of you have went through similar situations, with your mental health.

For those of you who may not remember me, My name is Camry I'm 26 yrs old and I was raped when I was still a virgin, and infected with the virus.
Ladies any suggestion will truely help me...Thank you

LOL I've been asked when the baby is due also. One lady even touched my belly. uuggh I cant stand it when people you dont know touch you without permission.

Sometimes I'll fake it and go along with it sometimes I will look at them like they are nuts and tell them I am not pregnant just to see their reaction.

I was going to start a new thread, but with Carny chiming in, I thought I'd reply here.  I'll start a new one in the morning.

Carny, you might need to go inpatient somewhere for awhile, at least until you feel safe enough to be on your own.  I was raped when I was 14 and it was no pleasant experience.  I never got help right after that and I can tell you that me not getting help almost led to my complete destruction.  Please, if you're not feeling safe, get some support that's going to be there 24 hours.  Don't worry about what other people think etc.  It's your life and it's precious.  You need to take care of you.

And Brandy, you not having major medical is no excuse for those doctors not to remove those stones, especially if they're causing your liver to swell.  I had gallstones removed and I know the pain-it's hell.  Worse than labor pains (and I was in labor for 30+ hours).  Really, find a doctor who will remove them and will accept payments or something.  Please take care of yourself.

We definitely need to take better care of ourselves sometimes.  I hope all you ladies have a good night.

Hi Camry~

I remember you and your story when you joined us last year, I think it was.  I understand the comfort of keeping yourself secluded, so that you feel safe.  I can't imagine how the rape has changed you on an emotional level.  I was thinking, maybe you could call a crisis hotline?  I know the event didn't "just happen" but you're certainly still suffering the repercussions from it.

I think we gain some strength from the links we have to helpful sources and support from others.  I believe that reaching out, even if just a little by picking up the phone, will lead you in a supportive direction.  Whoever you talk to can let you know of other resources in your community which may be of benefit to you.  Perhaps the shrink isn't enough, is he/she helping you at all?  Maybe you need to see someone else?

Just take baby steps, I know this isn't easy.  I just don't want you to give up on yourself.  Please stay in touch with us, Camry.

~Cindy

Hi Ladies,

Camry, I remember you. Im sorry to hear you have been feeling so bad. sometimes we can get in a loop, I have been there myself many times when I was younger. I can tell you that I dont have a chronic mental disorder even though I had symptoms in those days. Its not about giving it a name its about taking care of yourself.

Sometimes when people have trauma - which is what you experienced - they just shut down into their own mind and withdraw its meant to keep us safe but it can be isolating and cruel to ourselves.

Please contact your family and your psychologist as well as the rape crisis line. You said yourself, that your family loves and supports you. No one can understand another 100%, but it doesnt matter. We can support and love each other even when we cannot compleletly understand what the other is going thru. I am sure you have been able to support family and friends in the past with their subjective problems. You have been thru a lot and you need to rest. I agree with Betty as well that maybe you can check in to a mental facility for a few days just to stabilize yourself and be in a restful environment. I'm sorry it has been so rough.

Brandy, it makes me so angry that you're in excruciating pain with no help. can't you cover this with basic insurance? can't you go to an ER and force them to take care of you? Im sorry I know nothing about the system over there. Wishing you health and strength.

Hope both of you feel better soon.

Cindy, I thought Wild Hogs was just a movie... I didnt realize there really was such a thing... cool.
I got the pregnant question a while back, I don't have abig belly, just kind of rounded and soft, and since I am on PIs, it can get pretty puffy with after dinner.... The girl who asked was a skinny little thing. I just said "I know I eat a lot, but....". she was embarassed. I am very careful about asking that, to the extreme. A collegue of mine was obviously pregnant and everyone knew, I just said, "you look so... different". She said "you're the last person to find out". My BF told me he was about to ask a friend of mine (not poz, but with a belly she can't get rid of, but not fat otherwise) if she was pregnant. Not a good idea... I guess women are so skinny in the media nowadays that any type of bump is "suspicious"... and when you look at "celebrity bumps", well, I have farted away bigger bumps of my own ;D

Betty, you are tough but caring and unjaded. I love that about you. Just wanted to say that.

Netta, my thoughts are with you.

Hugs to all you ladies, have a peaceful sunday
