After several years of being undetectable I had my first detectable viral load: 107. Fortunately my other numbers continue to improve. Six months ago CD4=826, now 975 and CD4% went from 26 to 32. A viral load of 107 is good enough for me and I don't plan making any changes. I've been very stressed lately and wondered if that would make a difference.

Well, if you are gonna have a blip - that's the way to do it.  With some testing standards still regarding <80 as undetectable, that blip is teensy.  And no offense, but with CD4 and % like those, I'm still more concerned to find out how your fella is doing.

You're clearly still doing fine.

Happy to see you continue to do well. I wouldn't fuss about the itsy bitsy blip. You know we have had many discussions here about what stress can do to us.
I suggest a lovely Merlot, and a candle lit soothing bath. ;)

He is doing great. He is cancer free, feels perfect and is going back to work in May. He has not only joined a gym but has hired a personal trainer. He checks the mirror daily to appreciate having eyebrows again.

I had a minor blip like that not too long ago. I hated it. But, the next set of labs was <50 again.

I have every confidence yours will undetectable again too.

Great news about the other half's doing so well. You both deserve a big hug, so give each other one for me.

Hey Ford,

I have managed to remain undetectable since 1998 but have had a couple of blips.  Retesting the same day as the results are in and once again being undetectable has been the routine.  Then again I have had increases of over 100 T cells in my labs and seen them return to their normal count during next labs.  I bet you return to nondetectable in your next labs.  Have the best day

Hello Ford,

I've had about two or three of these small blips or increase in the viral load, over the past 4 plus something years while on meds. Each time, it always went back to undetectable, by the next test. Hopefully things will go back to < by your next tests.

Current Meds ; Viramune / Epzicom Eliquis, Diltiazem. Pravastatin 80mg, Ezetimibe. UPDATED 2/18/24
 Tested positive in 1985,.. In October of 2003, My t-cell count was 16, Viral load was over 500,000, Percentage at that time was 5%. I started on  HAART on October 24th, 2003.

 UPDATED: As of April, 2nd 2024,Viral load Undetectable.
CD 4 @593 /  CD4 % @ 18 %

Lymphocytes,total-3305 (within range)

cd4/cd8 ratio -0.31

cd8 %-57

Ford,

I think your next tests will be fine.  Assuming you've been adherent (and judging by your posts, I have no reason to believe you aren't), it's unlikely to be any underlying resistance issues.

Hang in there.  I know you're dealing with a lot of things right now, I wouldn't let this result overwhelm you.
