This is not coming from a doctor in medicine, it's coming from a Naturophatic Doctor, who happens to sell Coconut oil and books about it and claims this cures all sorts of diseases. You can bathe in Coconut oil as much as you want and your skin will certainly feel smooth and nice, but that's in my opinion the only benefits you will get from it.

There used to be an extensive thread on this topic under the old Forum Archives on this topic but I dun seem to be able to locate the Archives anywhere. Anyone know how to find the Archives again or have they been purged? ???

The old FuseTalk forums were purged back in February.

Hey Mark,

As Matty and Milker said, a load of quackery. I like coconut oil for cooking, but that is about as good as it gets.

Most of the references cited by that person making the claim are old, some are really old.

HUGS,

Mark

There was a thread on this on the old forum and the bottom line back then was it did not help. Notwithstanding some health benefits non hiv related.

Oh heavens. Let me repeat something my 2nd doctor (the holistic doc) said to me: What he said boils down to this: FORGET any natural this-or-that to raise cd4 or stop the virus *IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN* He continued to say natural stuff is cool for side effects but the buck stops there. All of his patients who have HIV go to him to alleviate side effects and nothing more

"All of his patients who have HIV go to him to alleviate side effects and nothing more"  quote allopath

This is an extreemly important statement in my opinion.  When its a QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUE ...in other words..when its about side effects and aches and pains ...................there are lots of natural treatments that help.  This is why I am a firm believer in massage and acupuncture.

Hi,

This is full of transfat and it is very bad for heart. In India, there is state of kerala where people use coconut oil and today on heart day the data suggested maximum no of heart disease reported.

VCO is not the same as the normal bleached coconut oil used in everyday cooking cos it cost alot more. I agree, the latter is full of transfat.
