Shit Scared..Please help me remove my anxiety

HI Guys..I am new to this website and expecting everone to answer...

On 5th of Aug...I met a girl and we eventually ended up having protected sex...However during foreplay i was unprotected and rubbed my penis on her vaginal area for couple of seconds "WITHOUT PENETRATION" and noticed her vaginal fluid on my penis head..

I got tested at 5,8 and 12 weeks i.e 84 days result came back "Negative"


Since the 83rd day of exposure iam facing some weird symptoms -

1. Throat Infection
2.  2 Swollen Glands around my neck
3. Fever (99 degrees)
4. Headache and tiredness
5. I feel like vomiting all the time..

1.Am i seroconverting ??Now r these symptoms related to ARS??
 2. Can ARS Start after 83 days??
3. IS my 12 week i.e 84 days result Conclusive??
4. Do i need one more test @ 91 days??

Kindly help me overcome this anxiety..

Hi Fred,

Nothing you did during this incident put you at risk for transmission. You used a condom for intercourse which is exactly what you're supposed to do. They provide very effective protection. None of the foreplay activities such as rubbing your penis against her vagina are risky for HIV transmission. (Please read our Transmission lesson for more details. There is a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section.)

Your symptoms? They have nothing to do with HIV. In general you need to know that neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you anything accurately about your HIV status. There is nothing in any way HIV specific about the ones you're concerned about.

I don't see there was any need for testing in the first place. And with your negative, which is exactly what I would have expected, there's certainly no basis for  any further concern on your part about HIV. If your symptoms persist that's something to discuss with your doctor to find out what's causing them. This is not an HIV situation.

First of all Thanks alot Andy....

WEll i have heard vaginal fluid carries some virus..so hw come i wasnt at risk?? i am getting terrible nausea...Feeling like vomiting the time i eat....Just wanted to knw is my 12 week negative conclusive or i need one more test at 13 weeks??

And if Ann can also thr a light on this topic wud b a great help...

If the woman you were with is HIV+, the vaginal fluids which would matter as far as the virus is concerned are in the cervical area, not the labial area with which your penis had contact.

You're worrying needlessly. Really.

In many countries 12 weeks is accepted as a reliable testing point. It just happens our CDC says 13 weeks. I don't consider any further testing to be necessary. You are HIV negative. Period. End of story.

As for your symptoms, discuss them with your doctor. Much of it sounds stress-related to me, but if they persist then talk to your doctor.

This is NOT an HIV situation. Really.

As Andy has told you, you weren't at risk for hiv during this incident.

And besides, even if this woman is hiv positive and even if you had unprotected intercourse with her, your test prove that you have not been infected. You ARE hiv negative. Keep using condoms and you'll stay that way. Read through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them with confidence.

Again i would like to thank both of u...U r doing a fantastic job on helping people out...

Now my query is -

As u know my exposure... now 8 weeks after the exposure i got my V.D.R.L test done which came back negative and hiv after 12 weeks which came back negative as well

Today is the 91st day since exposure...And now i am worried abt Std's...can STd symptoms occur 84 days after exposure??.

I get pain on the right side of the lower abdomen...and nausea which is on since 4 days now...I dont vomit but i feel like vomiting everytime i eat..which is scaring me....Now Could this be Hepetitis??  i consulted a doc( i didnt metion abt the exposure as he is a famiy doc).. he said it could be appendix..gave me Buscopan for 5 days and he said if it doesnt cure then we will have to go for some tests...


1.As per the exposure mentioned do i need to get tested for STD profile??
2. which test should i go for hepetitis a b or c???
 3. And do i test one more test for hiv??

Plz help Andy & Ann...as ull have been a great source of help...

You do not need to test any further for HIV. You have reliably tested negative for the HIV virus.

This is an HIV-specific site. We can't diagnose your symptoms here. Discuss them with your doctor to determine what if any further tests are necessary. Your health is more important than any embarassment you may feel. If you aren't able to overcome your reluctance to speak honestly and clearly about your concerns then maybe it's time to see a doctor or clinic that is not connected with your family.

All we can tell is that whatever is going on has nothing to do with HIV.

Well i met a girl who has slept with many guys in the past..I  was  unprotected and got a blowjob from her for about 5 minutes in my car..We didnt have sex...So just wanted to know am i at risk for Hiv or Std?? do i need to worry??

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

You didn't have a risk and you don't need to test.
