my power is back on now, but i want to report thsta we had a huge thunderstorm this evening.... i lost power for about two hours... right before I lost power I waw a huge flash that cpvered the sky.

a huge green flash,...nothing that even resesembled an explosion or bomb... but this wasn't just any flash... it was a green iridescent flash... this just is't seen in florida even with qa baed storm....   i worrie this might have been some kind of attack.... i'm not dowtonwn, so i don't know... but i am worried.    i'm not downtown so i mght be okay if somethign happened, but if not, i love you all.  I really am not trying to be melodramatic.... but this has really freaked me out.

my power finally came back on... but this might be a new wave of attacks.. in concurrance with 6/6\06

I hope you are safe.  Probably just a ruse by the government to get people scared so that they vote republican again in Nov.  Oh wait Bush just brought up the same-sex marriage thing again....

That sounds weird, but I want to throw another explanation to you at this time. Lightning can be green, albeit rarely. Ionization of oxygen (in the air) can cause the odd green lightning and has been reported with ball-lightning in some reports and with some strong storms (such as the ones you get in Florida). It is possible that the green flash you saw was a heavy bolt of lighning that made the area glow green.

Keep us informed..

NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. They may give you food for thought, but they should not direct you to do anything but fuel discussion.

well, now i feel like a drama queen... but what i saw wasn't like anything i saw before, ever.. in the last four  years i've been in florida.... i still do not think it lightning at alll.. or any derivation of it.... the color was just too INTENSE.....

I know it does seem weird, but i've never seen anthing like that complete and utter flash of the sky, in ultraviioltet lime green...

i'm still freaked out... and i do have pots filled with water on the stove and in the bathtub.... that's how freaked i am.

I'm ok... but to date i haven't been able to raise any orlando radio stations.... i'm talking broadcast not internet...

I am totally wigged out.... atm....

edit:  ok.. i got orlando radio now..... nothing came thru before till now...which is extremely weird..... i won't sleep well tonight... but it doesn't seen to be an 'issue' now.

i just don't want something happening here in orlando on a much bigger level than 9/11.  What i saw was profound to me.   and quite scary too.....

i know what i saw, but nothing happened here it seems.  (after the fact)

What I saw freaked me out totally.... and it wasn't lightning.

power was down here for an hour or so.... the radio couldn't be raised when it came back on.... and it's 6/6/06 today.   The same thing that they picked 9/11 for.

If I hadn't seen it myself, i wouldn't believe it..... but i did.  Nothing I've ever seen before could make that.. not even lightning.  not that intense.... and i am talking nuclear explosion intense.... it wasn't just a fleeting shadow.

i feel stupid now, but if you had seen it, i think you would have come to the same conclusion.

Bailey,

Don't feel stupid.  You saw what you saw.  I remember once as a kid I saw some eerie green glow on a ridge one night while we were camping.  I swear it was some UFO thingie or something but nobody to this day believes me.  Keep us up to date!

Hello Bailey,

These thunder storms down here, can be pretty severe, and intense !! In my 25 years down here, I have witnessed 3 waterspouts, and two tornado's. One of them just about flipped my car over, with me in it. I hit the floor board. And being 5 feet 7 inches, I fit fairly easy. I remember some of the storms down here in the daytime, when the air would take a greenish hue.And the static was so charged my hair stood up on my arms.

Wouldn't surprise me if the flash you saw, was probably a transformer blowing out...

Hope all be well Bailey. The fact that there is no news about it could seem that some electric cables where struck by lightning like JRE stated,

take care,

All accounts of nuclear explosions I have read indicate that the flash you see is white, not green. Go read some accounts of Hiroshima. I think they call it a magnesium flash. If you are worried about a dirty nuclear bomb - that spreads uranium around - then highly active uranium glows blue. For that you have to read accounts of nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl and that one in Japan...

I think it was a transformer too, those things really go off when they are hit. The fact the radio couldn't be raised when your power came back on could indicate the power coming back at different times in different places - the radio station being after you.

Here is an account of a hurricane.....

"As it moved across the state, Wilma weakened to a Category 2 storm with winds of 105 mph. But it was still powerful enough to peel away roofs, flatten trees, litter the streets with billboards, turn debris into missiles and light up the sky with the blue-green flash of popping power transformers.

many say the sky turns green right before a tornado hits. I have been in several tornadoes and before one the sky was very green for a moment(my fav color). They do sound just like a train.
