Body Pains

Hallo
I have been positive for 15years, I have been on  many medications before. The last medication i was on was Truvada, Norvir and Reyataz. I went on this medication for 4years until last year in november i was changed to Stocrin and Truvada. This was because of some side effects (Lipodystrophy) which i believe was from previous medication.
Am now having weird dreams which i dont care much, but i have alot of pains in my body. I feel like my bones have been broken in my body. This is making me more tired and pain.
Am seeing the doctor on the 16th of March.
Can anyone please help advice me.

Stocrin may affect a part of the immue system called cytokines which trigger inflammation, hence aches. This might be the reason.

What do i do about the iinflammation? Is they anything i can take to reduce these pains.

Some things may help:

- paroxetine (also known by the trade names Aropax, Paxil, Seroxat) << an anti-depressant with specific anti-inflammatory effect

- aspirin, paracetamol  (Panadol) or ibuprofen (Neurofen) etc

- sodium valproate << an anti-siezure medicine

- oral corticosteroids << yuk

All these may have value in the short-term (5-15 days).

The aches usually pass as your body adjust to the Stocrin (perhaps in a few days-weeks).

If they don't then the management options are 1) something to counter the pain long-term or 2) changing off Stocrin 3) reducing the dose to 400mg, provided that this keeps your viral load below 50 (often works).
