worried please help

Hey there
I would like to know your opinion on this.
I received a BJ from a guy about 1 month ago.
He sucked me off for about 4 min. He was quite ruff and he kept on sticking the tip of his tongue into the opening of my penis ( urethra ) i am worried that there was maybe blood present. Two days after the BJ it felt as if my glads where sore, it lasted for about 2 weeks. I then got a sore throat after that which was at about 18 days after the BJ, which lasted a week, which was then followed by a cold which also lasted about a week.

Do you think i was at risk if there was blood present and him sticking his tongue in the tip of my penis?

Mark,

I've disabled your poll. We do not allow opinion polls in this section of these forums - we go by fact here, not opinion.

Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you won't be the first. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect. The details about where he put his tongue etc do not matter - getting a blowjob is not a risk no matter what details you can think of to add.

Along with reading the Transmission Lesson linked to in our Welcome Thread, here's what you need to know in order to remain hiv negative:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I would get tested in 3 months. You may not have been infected with HIV necessarily but it may be something else judging from the symptoms you described. Granted a BJ is less of a risk for transmission of HIV, it is still a risk especially if blood was present. Good luck.

Mark,

If Pop had bothered to read the Welcome Thread before posting, he would have read the following posting guideline:

Quote
Only those Moderators and members who are authorized to answer questions in the Am I Infected? forum are permitted do so. Unauthorized responses may be deleted without permission of the poster. Repeatedly posting replies of this nature may result in a Time Out or permanent ban, at the discretion of the Moderator Team.

We have this rule because some people just don't know what the heck they're talking about. Pop is one of those people. Just because he's hiv positive doesn't mean he knows how this virus works. If I had seen his post before you did, it would have been deleted.

You were absolutely NOT at risk for hiv infection when you got a blowjob, regardless of what Pop says. I promise you that you had NO RISK.
