Dehydration from Atripla?
« on: June 26, 2010, 08:24:07 am »
This is a weird happenstance I've noticed seems to be recurring.  When I wake up which is roughly 8 hours after my nightly dose of Atripla I always feel dehydrated.  I drink a lot of water and I'm not having nightsweats so I know I'm not actually dehydrated, but I have cottonmouth and my eyes are very dry.  Just wondering if anyone else is having these issues?

I was on Atripla for a little over 3 years.  I had the same exact problem no matter how much water I drank.  I don't know why and my doctor doesn't either, but I had a period where my sugar levels were extremely low.  I've often wondered if this was a preexisting problem with me exasperated by Atripla.  Dry mouth can be an indicator of glucose problems.

It's funny, as I type this and reflect, I remember the anxiety I had while on Atripla.  I'm wondering if it was indeed caused by the Atripla or my low sugar level issue, probably a combination of both I'm sure.

Ole Milwaukee is also bad for you...  just mentioning it cuz yesterday was Friday.
I despise the song Love is in the Air, you should too.

Yeah Trey - I get the same thing every now and then from Atripla -- some mornings my vision is also a little foggie for the first 1/2 hour or so that I am awake.  The dehydration last off and on throughout the day.  Nothing major and I do live in South Florida where it is hot and humid.  All of my labs are normal.  Must just be one of those little effects.  Of course, my Coronas sometimes contribute to the problem ---- oops, I forgot, yesterday was Friday  ;)  so that may be why it is a little more pronounced today.
