Did I get HIV
« on: April 20, 2018, 10:42:38 am »
Hi Experts

I am a heterosexual male from India.

I went to a Thai Massage parlour here. During the massage the lady masseur undressed and started rubbing my penis with some baby oil from a bottle she took out from her bag. In no time I was sitting close behind her with my arms around her and my right hand fingering her vagina . She was wet and i did insert the entire lenth of my index finger inside her once and then mostly rubbed on her clitoris. She kept on rubbing my penis with her right hand for some time after which she asked me to stop and started inspecting my finger nails, the reason for which is not known to me.
At this point I stopped fingering her and started fondling with her breast and sucked on her nipples few times. She did finger herself and also rubbed my penis with the same hand in between.
After 10 minutes she got up and sat on my lap facing me and started giving me a handjob vigorously and I was fingering her vagina. After I ejaculated she cleaned my semen which was there on my lower abdomen with some tissues. I think she also cleaned her hands with the same tissue before she used it on me. I washed my hands with soap just after this and could only wash my genitals after I reached home that is after 2 hours. As far as I could remember my penis came very close to her vagina during the mutual mastrubation but never touched. I may have also kissed her on her neck and back. I checked her hands, although it did not have any sores or cuts but there was one very small whitish circular mark on her right Palm. There was a burning sensation from few abrasions on my uncircumcised penis after this handjob which resolved after a day. The abrasions may have come in contact with her vaginal secretions during the handjob as the lady also fingered herself with the same hand. Please excuse for being so vivid, I just wanted to explain everything that happened so that you can correctly give your views.

Out of fear and anxiety I went to a doctor the next day. He told me that though the risk of getting HIV from this incident is low but I still need to test for HIV as the lady could have been infected and may have had a very high viral load. He advised HIV, HSV and VDRL tests to be done immediately for baselining and I should repeat the tests at after 4 weeks , 3 months and 6 months to be absolutely sure that nothing got through.

On the 3rd day of exposure I did a HIV Combo Abott Architect, VDRL and Herpes simplex Igm and Igg tests. All came back negative. I am still freaked out as I have read in various websites that these tests are not conclusive at 3 days.

Please help me and let me know :
1) What is the chance that I am   infected with HIV from the stated incident? Fingering and handjob with vaginal fluid with high viral load.
2) If i do a Fourth Generation Antigen and Antibody combo test (CMIA Abott Architect) on the 28th day for HIV and if it comes out negative will that be conclusive or I need to test again as my doctor suggested.

Thanks in advance

Dawg

You simply had no hiv risk as in none whatsoever.

Fingering is not a hiv concern nobody has ever been infected this way and neither is the fluid a woman produces when excited as it does not contain hiv no matter how high her blood viral load was. Also once exposed outside the human body hiv is unable to infect you as the receptors corroded

The fluid you are concerned about is near the cervix

Move on with your life

Thanks Jim for the quick answer.

But what about if the lady had high viral load and   sher vaginal fluid came into contact with the abrasions on my penis during the handjob.

Is the Fourth Generation Combo test Abott Architect conclusive on 28th day.
 Do I need to test?

Your word of advise would be of immense help to relax me.

Thanks again.

Asked and answered.

HIV is fragile so much so that nobody has ever been infected sexually from fluids once exposured outside the human body

the fluid a woman produces when sexually excited comes from the Bartholin's glands, this is a lubricating fluid from a separate gland and does not have any viable hiv

Nobody has ever been infected this way for a reason.

You're not listening, viral load could have been highest ever recorded in her blood it still is not how hiv transmit.

No need to test as you had no exposure whatsoever

Move on

I am having sore throat for last one week along with enlarged glands in my neck. Feeling of general fatigue and feverish all the time. Is this ARS?
Out of fear and anxiety I went for a HIV ab/an and P24 Combo test at 4 weeks since exposure. The pathologist at lab said it is a Fourth Generation test and is conclusive at 28 days. I have also read in the HIV Testing section of this forum that such test are conclusive at 3 weeks.
Please let me know if this test is full and final or I have to repeat again later.
Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Many HIV-specialists recommend testing for HIV-antibodies be conducted six weeks after potential exposure, then at 13 weeks past potential exposure for confirmation of the six week results.  However, some tests may be considered conclusive under shorter time frames.

If your healthcare provider assures you that your test is conclusive, you should presume it is conclusive and move on with your life, especially since you had no risk for HIV-infection in the first place (as Jim has explained).

No it does not, you need to adjust your glasses.

Indeed, you had no risk, nothing to test for.
