Determine my risk

Hi, i am a gay man. 18 days ago i have done unprotected oral sex and protected anal sex, im the one who give blowjob and the one who receive anal. 4 days after that i feel extremely fatigue,headache,sweating,unpleant stomach and feverish but my temperature is 36.5, no fever. 10 days after exposure i start to have sore throat while other symptoms persist. On day 14 post exposure only sore throat remain and i start to have very tiny brown spots on my chest,not red at all and joint pain. I am freaking out right now because i've done protected sex already but why im having a lot of hiv symptoms. Can someone tell me if i have hiv?

We don't asses symptoms here as most people experience none, HIV symptoms are over hyped on the internet. As for the sore throat it has nothing to do with HIV, if you are still sick see a doctor and treat whatever is making you feel unwell.

There is no need to run test every time you give a blow job, unless you have open wounds in your mouth it simply lacks the cells for HIV to infect so calm down and simply get tested the next time you are due for a regular checkup, no need to run out and test.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

I am a guy and had sex with a man. I just knew yesterday he is hiv positive. I had 3 times protected anal sex and 3 times unprotected oral sex. The last sexual encounter with him was 1 week ago. He never cum in my anal or mouth. We always withdraw first. What make me worried is he surely hiv positive and i had mouth ulcer during performing oral sex. What is my risk? Should i be concern of getting infected?

Hiya,

Giving a blowjob is such a minute concern with regards to HIV that we don't even recommend specifically testing over it, the ulcer makes no real difference to this as even if there was open gaping holes in your mouth creating a possible route than saliva & air also act to neutralize HIV by damaging the receptors needed to infect human cells.

If this was your only comdomless sexual act then relax, just get tested whenever you are next normally due a routine check-up.

Thanks for the reply. What about the protected anal sex with condom with certain hiv positive man? Is there even slightly chance that i will be infected with hiv despite on condom protection?

Hiya,

HIV can't transmit through an intact latex or polyurethane condom. If a condom fails during the act of intercourse it's obvious. There is no reason to be stressing or testing outside of standard routine as long as this obvious issue did not happen.

Your overthinking this encounter because you happen to know he is living with HIV.
