so i have had a fever for 8 days, headaches with the fever, been a little bit more tired, stomach has been upset, bit not to the point of throwing up, and the thing that really has me wondering is these little rashes that are popping up, they feel kinda like dry skin almost, but they are red little pinpoint dots, and they are mostly on my legs, with one on my back. they dont itch or anything like that, the doctor looked me over, and she said she wants to run blood work, and one thing she is concereneced about is hiv. ive been sitting here researching, and also thinking when the last time i had unproteced sex, its been like 4-5 months, and before that it had been 6 months before that. also i think this is unrelated but im throwing it out there, about a year ago, after my first encounter, or first in a few years, but it was a stressful time in my life, and i would get diarrhea but only for day or so, and then it would go away for a few weeks and come back, it hasnt happened in about 7 months, but stomach has been a little upset this past week. it is also been a kind of stressful time but not too bad, i know none of yall are docters, but i thought id post on here and wait till monday, maybe tomorrow if they come back in time, to see what the results were, a little nervous, but have read a lot of things since yesterday and learned a lot, i just lost someone very close to me to aids about a year ago, so its kinda freaking me out a little.

Well, if you have had unprotected anal and/or vaginal sex then you really ought to test, and since it's been longer than three months, your results should be considered definitive.
Obviously the symptoms and time frame do not mesh with HIV infection, since they are currently going on. If you had developed ARS (Acute Retroviral Syndrome) it would have been deeply within the first three months since your last unprotected sexual encounter. Most people who develop ARS do so within 28-odd days of exposure.
Regardless, getting routine STD panels (other things than HIV still exist and can be asymptomatic yet cause you great harm) is the smart thing for any sexually active person to do.
Of course, another smart thing to do is using condoms for vaginal/anal sex until/unless you are in a mutually monogamous relationship and you have both had a complete STD panel done. I am sure you are aware of this however :)
I certainly hope your doctor finds a cause and remedy for your issues.

i didnt think so, i did test yesterday cause my dr was concerened about it, i was thinking it was just a regular old virus. thank you for putting my fears to rest a little

i just remembered i was sick about a month ago, felt like flu, i had a headache, sore throat, fever, cough, and stuffiness, lasted about a week or so, i have been sick a lot latley, and i hardly ever get sick, this year alone, since june, i have been sick like 4 times, june was really bad i was sick for like 2 weeks, but i think i was just sick cause there wasnt a time that i had unprotected sex, before that for awhile so i dont think that was anything. but i just remembered that and thought i would share.

I'm hoping you get help for your causes, but the truth of the matter is is if you are doing these risky behaviors please use protection. Take it from me. I was in a committed relationship. He actually lied to me about getting tested and told me he was in the clear. Majority of men does not like to go to the doctor, so I advise you if you want to have unsafe sex with a person tell them to go to the clinic with you to get tested. That way both of your results will be in and you will definitely be sure as to what to do next. You should never trust anyone else with your most prize possession...your body...I wish someone had told me this. Maybe its a lesson..maybe not, but either way know your status, and always use protection. Good luck hun!

Neither symptoms nor even the lack of symptoms will ever tell you a single thing about your hiv status. ONLY testing at the appropriate time will, and you have done this.
You really need to wise up and start insisting on condoms.
Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.
To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.
Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.
Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.
Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
