Hi Seniors! ;D

It is so relieving find a proper forum to share experience and seek some practical advice from buddies all around the globe.

You are luckier than me, I think, in terms of where you are living, health facility your country/city/town have, and a lot of meds choices your country have to meet your needs.

I live in asia, not in big capital city, just in small town, need 5 hours journey to capital city where HIV-specialist doctors work, more comprehensive health facilities are and most importantly less discrimination for HIV people.

I am diagnosed with HIV+ through medical check-up which I ran on March 2016, and I am grateful at that moment my mind-soul was not troubled with the news so I could think properly and spent whole week searched, browsed, surfed any information as much as I could about this thing, the treatment and all other things related. I have decided not to tell anyone about my status, so I must encourage my self and be independent.

I met my HIV-specialist doctor 10days after the status came out, because I must deal with office-work and took couple days leave to capital city. I thank that my HIV-specialist doctor is very reliable, accommodating and fun person so my confident getting stronger and stronger. My first cd4 is 577, 22% (03/22/2016), I didn't check viral load at that time. Since there is no IO happened, Doctor signed me my ART (Atripla but with each dose so I must consume 3 meds daily, FDC is out of stock in my country). First week is the hardest, but lately I can handle it, though besides effect-side from the meds itself I must handle also my gastric acid problem. I keep doing work as usual, go to gym but now eat healthy diet is a new routine. I must admit that sometimes when I am alone, the thought about death haunting me, but read all new researches and forum like this about how HIV treatment become more and more effective making my spirit up.

Biweekly, I journey to capital city for consultation and restock my meds which now I called "vitamins". Last weekend is my 4th consultation and doctor asked me to re-check my cd4, now with the viral load. My latest cd4 755, 21% (05/07/2016), viral load result hasn't done yet, a week is required.

I want to ask, how my cd4 % get effect because it is lower than before (1%), is it okay ?

Other than that, I am grateful for everything that I have. I could be diagnosed earlier, met good doctor and got healthy and healthier. I think that is the recipe, try to enjoy life, find the good doctor (not just good in experience and knowledge but also good in how they accommodate and facilitate your need, so your doctor appointment will be more fun and like meeting monthly friend), and be positive

Keep spirit up! ;) :)

Your CD4's are excellent and have risen substantially in a very short time of treatment.  The slight percentage decrease means nothing, in this instance.  You are responding very well to treatment and your immune system appears to have sustained little damage.  You are winning!  I would expect that your viral load will be very low, if detectable at all, once it is measured after your treatment with the Atripla components began.  You should be very pleased with the results so far of your treatment :)

Welcome to forum.

My latest cd4 755, 21% (05/07/2016),

Be careful now flashing great results around like that, someone might try to steal them. :-)
Just kidding.

Good to hear your on treatment and doing so well, nice first post. Great numbers and results so that's excellent, as for the CD4's and the 1 % I would not worry too much its just a snapshot moment, even on the same day results will differ but its great your in positive pardon the pun range.

Now focus going forward the focus is more the VL and what you can do for this is what you have already  been doing keep taking your meds and be adherent.

Take it easy and keep us posted.

Jim

As others have said, don't worry about the tiny drop in %...your cd4% will increase now you are on treatment and your virus is suppressed. The important thing is your immune system isn't in the 'danger zone' and therefore as long as you stay adherent to your meds, you should look forward to a long and healthy life.

Thank you Jim Dublin, CaveyUK, hiv_rizzy!
Surely, I will keep posted..
Does Viral Load test need that long days to be done in ur country ? First Line ART is free of charge in my country as Government Program but we just have limited kinds of it not many like in US and Europe, and one kind of FDC which mostly out of stock, but I think many NGO work hard to make this condition better...

Have a nice day, everyone!

ojo       Hello marcello...welcome...yes, you are right when youu say that some of us are lucky for where we live, I think we are V.I.P. in this club, because some of us, have access to the newest meds (no my case due to resistances) and just one pill a day...but no need to worry, your treatment is good, as long as you don't have bad side effects, I know lots of people who are using the same medications you are on and they are doing great, you will be fine.

My viral load test takes a week to get the results, I'm again, a V.I.P. member of this club,  living in the USA...I just wanted to welcome you and wishing you the best of luck...hugs                                                     ojo

Hi, Friends & Brothers !

Yeay..... I am Undetectablee.......
I ran VL Load Test on May 7th in city but it took a week to process, so I went back town to work and wait for next-month (June) consultation to get the result paper. The doctor smiled at me while I stood at the clinic door, and she whispered "It works! I told ya so...Now you smile and moveee on"
fiuhhhhhhh..........
For others fellas who still fighting for your initial diagnosis, you can cry, you can get angry but life must still move on, there is a rainbow in the end of rain...... I pray for you and myself to be strong, get the lesson learned and make fully meaningful life...... I promise to myself I WILL !

Love,
Cello
