Another great speech; this time from a Minnesota legislator discussing another constitutional admendment.  He talks about using religion in favor of any law is inappropriate, and he counters those who use religion with some God talk of his own.

On a silly note about gay rights, but still good I suppose, I've never seen a funnier speech as Gloria Allred stands up for gays due to alleged homophobic remarks by Atlanta Braves pitching coach, Roger McDowell.  She even has a guy that she uses to simulate gay sex by running a baseball bat back and forth through his hand.  Allegedly, McDonnell made these same motions with the bat.  I thought this was a comedy sketch when I saw it.  This may have been posted here and I missed it.

Gloria is the last person I want speaking for me.  She needs to go back to mamby pamby land and accept that not all gay people need intervention.  Perhaps it's a regional thing, but we only call authorities after the fact...lol
Being honest is not wronging others, continuing the dishonesty is.

I have no idea if God loves me, because I love myself and that is all that matters. While I applaud the speech, I still want to know who appointed whom to be in charge of the rest of us. We have a country founded on the separation of church and state and for damn good reasons. The idea that you can change your interpretation of God is just that, a mind set and has no real basis in reality. The thought that you have to convince people, to stop discriminating against gays, whether it be through religion or laws is the essential issue. The stupidity of some people, was on ample display in the second video and that woman deserves the "face palm" of the year, for subjecting her daughters to that display. The bat demonstration was beyond surreal.

Change will come, when the folks sitting in the ball park, around the gay couple, and subjected to the same remarks, condemn those remarks for what they represent. Decency requires that we treat everyone as equals and until that happens, gays will never be seen as equal, much less tolerated.

Minnesota state representative, John Kriesel, who happens to be a Republican and Staff Sergeant in the Army, gave an impassioned speech on the floor to not pass the amendment that would make gay marriage unconstitutional.  He spoke about how he lost his legs fighting for this country, and that he didn't lose those legs to deny rights to fellow Americans.  He also talks about a soldier from MN, Cpl. Andrew Wilfahrt who was killed in Afghanistan and was gay.  He said how could you ask him to give his life for this country, but deny him the right to marry who he loves.  I'm not sure of this man's other views on other issues, but I want to send him money for his reelection anyway.

Here is the video and Rachel's interview at the end with the parents of Cpl. Wilfahrt (who was so hot btw, but I digress):

Edited for spelling and to point out this is legislation that would put the amendment on the ballot
