Diagnosed yesterday, and I'm okay.
« on: February 06, 2014, 03:30:21 pm »
Hey all,

I'm a 22 year old male and was called back to the clinic yesterday afternoon to learn that I am poz. It was a bit of a shock to me.. I have never had unprotected vaginal or rectal intercourse. Although I knew HIV Is transferable through unprotected oral, I believed it was so unlikely that I ignored that fact.

Anyway. I am taking the news rather well. I learned my status very early. And I just completed my more detailed bloodwork today. I am confident that I can manage this mentally, physically, socially.

My only concern is that I may begin to feel isolated and alone, because I don't have anyone to talk to that is going through something similar.. And so I am here. To meet awesome people and integrate myself into this beautiful community, bounded by an unfortunate thing, but non the less human and proud.

Well I'll see you all around the forums. Great meeting you.
