Which tv show would you like to have off air.
I would like Tyra Banks Show, Rachel Ray, Smallville, The Hills and According to Jim to go bye-bye.

I dislike most of the critics darling shows: "24", "Lost", "The Sopranos", "The Office", "The Apprentice", "Survivor", "The Amazing Race"... If I had to pick one, I'd pick "The Office" as the worst show right now...

I don't like those shows either, except for the Amazing Race, but what is up with all the hype with The Office.. I don't get it..and I am a person who understand British comedy.

Some of the worst: all the CSI shows.
I find myself watching TV Land more and more, or AMC or other movie channels. I still watch Network TV for Idol (but must say I am not crazy about this season's shows thus far), Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy...sometimes ER. That's about it for me.

I think all of the above should be cancelled! Except for Survivor. I don't watch it anymore , but there's still the office pool............ ;)

Alanbama is right, CSI shows are absolutely horrid. I have never seen such wooden and stiff characters. The shows are about style,color,sound,and beautiful people who are dumber than my two dead standard poodles.
We watched CSI NY for the first time this week, we only made it through 30 minutes. Back to SVU reruns.
David Caruso has to be the most repulsive and creepiest person on TV today. The fact that I hate watching closeups of worms in dead people might influence my taste.

One season was plenty, anything past that, no thanks.
Guess I'm the only one that has not watched it since season one...?

Too many lame ones to select a worst. Especially, during prime time.
I opted for a rerun of Green Acres once or twice. I was, at least, mesmerized for awhile.

Id also like to see the vast majority of the Home remodeling/redecorating shows go down the shitter.

re: 24 - All I know are the promo clips where Kiefer Sutherland is, as usual, screaming at the top of his lungs and overacting. So I don't get it

The majority of reality TV--Survivor, America's Next Top Model, etc needs to go. I truely don't get those Survivor addicts. I even tried to watch it once. It didn't hold my interest for even 15 minutes. America's Next Top Model needs to lose Tyra Banks or else the Covergirl sponsor, whatever has made it become so campy and an embarassment to America. American Idol (that was interesting for like 2 episodes of the first season). Most talk shows--Tyra Banks--they just saturate the tv with new talk shows. Enough already! They are overloading on the judge shows as well. Judge Judy and Judge Alex can stay. Every other show can go.

See, I agree, but this only scratches the surface. There is so much crap on TV its hard to really say what is worst. Its just varying degrees of BAD.
If I watch one more couple go " Oh MY God...(after a designer has just ripped apart their home) ...It's beautiful." ...... I think I will cut off my hand.

Another 30 minute show that drives me up the wall is that "JIM cramer --- Mad money." It's on the headline news channel,Sometinr in the evening, I believe. Everytime I see this guy bouncing around, screaming and yelling, I wonder who is going to pop a blood vessel first. Me or him.
I am sure he gives good info to those dedicated followers, who watch his show, but he is just to hyper for me, to watch.

I very seldom watch TV..except for "desperate Housewives"...love that show, and documentaries..mostly history and wildlife.
I caught a snippet of "David Ledderman"(sp?)the other night..please tell me I'm not the only one in the world who finds him lacking in personality, he is so boring, and can someone tell me why people find him funny..I see nothing funny in anything he has to say...so in case you haven't guessed it already then "That is the worst programme on TV as far as I'm concerned"..sorry America... ;)

I had to laugh when I read this. When I was a little kid, one of my favorite shows was Supermarket Sweep. I always told my mom that I wanted to be on that show when I was older. Now that I look back and I do see the cheesiness of that show and wonder what I was thinking. I was a weird little kid though.

Oh, and Charmed. You don't rip off Buffy and expect my ass to like it! I swear to God, every time Alyssa Milano says, "the power of three," I lose some brain neurons to a tiny aneurysm. Oh, and the fact they used "How Soon Is Now" to open that piece of crap is completely and utter sacrilege.
I've been getting into Dark Shadows lately. That was an amazing show. No really... it ruled.

Seriously... I need more Dark Shadows!
My friend had a burned DVD, and he let me borrow it. The episodes seemed to be out of order... but they're on real DVD... I need them. Seriously... it's amazing.
I think this might get worse than my very famous Buffy Obsession (where I watched every episode from start to finish... it took me two and a half months, and I wouldn't stop talking Buffy the entire time)... needless to say, I'm looking forward to it.

OMG...I just realized you're talkin' 'bout THE Dark Shadows. Even as a rosey- cheeked youth I was well on my way down homo-highway. Run home from school to watch The Merv Griffin Show at three...Merv could always be counted on to titillate an aspiring young queer...interviewing Truman, Gore, and later on showcasing Sylvester in all her glory. Who could forget the antics of his resident fag hag Totie Fields? I once watched in delight as Merv minced through Zsa-Zsa's closets trying on boas. Then at four it was time for Dark Shadows...all wrapped up in a neat little package and delivered before the parental units got home and bitched me out for being lazy. Those were the days.

I was gonna spank you but then you mentioned Dark Shadows, I was named after a character on that show.....Angelique which is my middle name..I think my mother was trying to say something or knew something I didn't...But please explain how Charmed ripped off Buffy? Cause they had demons too? I didn't think Buffy had a monopoly on demons. I don't see where Charmed ripped off Buffy at all.....witches....vampire slayer, nothing in common to me, just the demons...

And Queen... when Buffy fans attack Charmed, we always say, "it ripped off Buffy" without providing any proof ever.

There hasn't been a good tv show since, "The Bionic Woman". I loved that show. I was in the Seminary and used to run to the tv room after mass so I wouldn't miss a minute of the show........................LOL.

Reading the forum threads on here, I have to say it MUST be CSI: NY.
I'm too scared to even watch it and see. It just sounds too terribly idiotic to be believed.
At least that is my vote for scripted TV. I hate just about every "reality TV" show. I see enough assholes in my regular day to day life. I don't need to tune 'em in to fulfill any quota.

Worst TV shows in general: sitcoms. Personally I don't know how anyone can sit through that mindless stuff with it's overworked so-called jokes. But that's just me.
Worst TV show in particular (that I've watched): Rachel Ray's Thirty-Minute Meals. Oh geez. Anyone can cook a chicken breast, and when you take away all the bells and whistles, that's about all she does. That frenetic bopping around the kitchen like a rabbit is off-putting, as is the silly baby talk. She needs to be on Paxil. Each season she obviously gains more and more weight...they need to take her out of those skin-tight jeans and dress her more sensibly.
Best TV show: Amazing Race. It's real...with real people doing real things. Other than that, I begrudgingly watch Survivor (just because I always have,) and the national and local news. The local news can be frustrating in a mid-sized market as they usually don't have much to talk about, other than harping on the latest local murder or sex-abuse case.

I agree with Gary that most sitcoms are remarkably unfunny. Completely overworked and unrealistic.
I watch "boring TV" for the most part. Documentaries....History Channel, Discovery, Animal Planet (doggies!) and The Learning Channel. That kind of stuff.
Except for the ones I affectionately call "my stories". Those that know me well know which ones those are.

Watch "office,scrubs and 30 rock " on thurs. All great sitcoms,weird, but sitcoms. 30 rock is my favorite. The woman is a genius and so is Baldwin.

Those are all shows that veer from the typical American sitcom format- which sucks. They don't rely on simple set up/punchline gags. 30 Rock is funny. With Tina Fey at the helm, I expected it to be. I just forget to watch most of those shows because I'm usually wrapped in some documentary.
Oh, and IFC. Watch a fair amount of the Independent Film Channel.
EDITIED FOR: How about the worst network in general? For me, it has GOT to be Fox Reality. With very few exceptions, I hate reality shows. Ugh.
