Worried
« on: August 07, 2012, 09:15:26 am »
Right, bit of back ground. I was a steroid user for numerous years, using needles.. but I never shared etc, all needles were from needle exchange and exposed correctly.
I have developed a skin condition in the past year.. and been worried the past week as doctor decided to do hiv test as I arent recovering as expected..

the reason i am worried is because I slept with a sex worker around 8 weeks ago. i used a condom and was drunk but im sure there were no holes  :-\

just really really worried because i developed a cold 18 days after the event.. and also had a cough for months that just wont go. anyway got tested 30th july which is exactly 6 weeks to the day which is a weird coincidence! been 8 days now and still not recieved results really worried

Condoms don't get little holes and you never had an exposure. You cannot give yourself HIV by injection if you are not sharing works to inject steroids.

If you used a condom for penetrative sex, then there's no reason at all to worry about HIV.

Sometimes a cold is just a cold.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
