Title: Oral and reassurance
Post by: 1988worried on March 22, 2012, 02:41:41 pm
Ive already read so many questions on here about oral, but i suppose I'm after my own reassurance.

I'm gay 23 and on the 31/01/12 i went round to a guys house. We kissed, both did oral (not protected) and i topped him (protected). Didn't cum in my mouth but may have been pre cum. I thought nothing of this incident till 3 weeks later i was knocked down with flu symptoms 2 nights of bad night sweats, sore throat, headache, fever and feeling generally like crap.

I went to the Dr's who said my throat was a little red my fever was ok (i had taken paracetamol and hour before which probably brough it down) also couldn't feel any swollen glands and no rash. I was of work for 5 days but I'm a bit of a drama queen and probably could have went back after 3  :).

The thought of HIV never crossed my mind till i spoke to the guy again a few weeks later and he asked if i wanted to meet up again and said he wanted me to cum in him bareback. This is something i would never do and asked him his status and he said neg however i obviously cant take his word for it (i didn't meet him again as never bareback).

I do suffer anxiety from time to time especially health related.
I found this website and have loved the responses you give and i guess I'm hoping for the same as most of the others (no risk).

It did leave my mind a bit until i developed a tooth root abscess last week 16/03 on a tooth that i had problems with over Christmas. The reason i worry is that its not responding to the Amoxicillin and Metrodizinol the dentist perscribed like it did at Christmas and wondered if that could be something to do with immune system responding to another infection going on in me. What has me more worried is a guy I started dating and had sex with (protected anal but i cum in his mouth) is now suffering symptoms i had 7 days after we had sex, fever sore throat etc.

I had a full STD screen 2 days after the incident 02/02/12 which was purely coincidence and nothing to do with that guy, i had recently came out of a long term relationship and just wanted a full check up which was all negative. I know it was far to soon for an HIV test after that incident but i suppose I'm wondering if i need an HIV test again after having symptoms. Last week i did suffer really bad tiredness but that may have something to do with the strong antibiotics I'm on for tooth.

As long as you haven't had unprotected anal intercourse there is no need for further testing. Nothing else you are reporting of your activities would put you at risk for HIV.

There is nothing HIV specific about your symptoms. Discuss them with your doctor if they persist.

I don't see this as an HIV situation. Just make sure you use condoms everytime for anal intercourse, whether you are pitching or catching. A condom is a must.

Ahhh thanks Andy. Never thought id have to post to an online forum about an incident but I'm glad i did as it has helped my train wreck nerves. I can also assure you there is no love without glove  :)

Ill move on now and put my flu down to actual flu and my abscess down to a botched filling done by the dentist lol.

Thanks for the quick response

OK, you're welcome. Yes, getting on with your life sounds like a very good idea to me.
