First Time... HIV Risk? Should I be this worried?
« on: January 28, 2011, 09:23:40 pm »
I recently (approximately 35 days ago) performed oral sex on my Best Friend, He ejaculated outside my mouth but then i continued to suck during the end of the process of him finishing ejaculating. I swallowed some of the sperm but not all. When we were finished I took some mouth wash and put it in my mouth but it burned like crap so i just spit it out the rest. It wasn't much. It was my first time and I was so blinded by lust that I skip the condom. I know Shame on me. I haven't had any symptoms but recently I noticed Two Spots on the left and right side of my tongue and 1 spot on the bottom of my Tongue. I was scared and broke down once I noticed them, so i began to look online and I saw early symptoms of HIV could include oral ulcers (I shouldn't have done this). These spots do not hurt at all, There is only one full circle, the other spot is more like a line, and the surface of them are smooth just like any other part of the tongue. My main concern is this how likely is it that I have contracted HIV from my first sex experience ???? I have to wait eight weeks to get tested because my local health clinic only use orasure :'( . My friend said he was clean... But people can easily lie... I am extremely worried and have not been able to focus like I used to because of the thoughts of me being infected. My goal in wanting to become a federal agent would be loss and my dream of having kids would be too...  Any feedback would be grateful!!! Thanks in Advance! Hopefully this was a little clear.

I'm sorry you're scared.  Rather than symptom searching the internet, I reccommend you check out the Lesson's section on this website.  You didn't have a risk. Use protection in the future so you don't have to worry.

Amanda, only those who are authorized to do so should be responding to questions in this Forum. Although I am sure your intentions are the best, please respect our rule and don't do it again. You should be writing only in your own threads.

Thanks for your cooperation.

D, you're worrying unnecessarily. The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. If you make sure condoms are always used for those activities you will be well protected.

Your own saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV. It is wise to avoid giving oral if you have a freshly bleeding wound in your mouth say from oral surgery. But then that would hardly be the moment when you are likely to be giving oral.

Lastly, we don't refer to someone as being "clean" in relation to HIV. It's insulting to everyone who is liiving with the virus and implies they are dirty. Someone is either negative or positive for HIV, not clean or dirty. Just something you should be aware of.

You don't have cause for further concern about this recent experience in relation to HIV nor is testing necessary unless you want to do it strictly for your own peace of mind. A negative result is going to be a slam dunk.
