holy fatigue
« on: January 29, 2013, 02:51:01 pm »
It seems regardless of how much sleep I get I'm incredibly tired all day long, I'm not physically active and yet I feel like I have just zero energy it's extremely frustrating. Any tips?

   Hi   Strong_but_weak ,

It may be time to get  physically active  !
I have found that  even walking around the yard is enough to
  perk me up .
Complete lack of any activity will make me a BLOB  :-[
I keep my sleep to 8 hours unless I have done strenuous  labor that day ,
then I do sleep more till I feel good .
Not sure if you smoke , but if you do maybe it is time to stop ?

                                                  be well , Weasel

I don't smoke
I used to workout 4-5 days a week but Nov 2011 I tore ligaments in my knee playing sports and without insurance I don't have the means to get surgery so being active results in swelling and pain for a day or 2 after so it's a challenge.....

Honestly, ANY sort of physical activity will help. Don't even have to use your knees. I find that my fatigue is helped a LOT by being active. The quality of my sleep is better, and that makes a world of difference.

Also, are there any teaching hospitals where you live? They sometimes make deals with non-insured people. Have you exhausted all possibilities with your doctor? There has to be a solution other than simply suffering.

Hi Strong_but_weak

Sorry to hear that you tore your ligaments, that sounds painful and I can understand you find exercise a challenge now.  My exercise is sporadic at best (although due to work commitments rather than injury), but when I do exercise I find it helps too.  As jkinatl2 suggested perhaps you can find something that doesn't impact your knees too much?

I'd definitely suggest raising it with your doctor, especially if you're on treatment, in case of side effects.

I also occasionally find a caffeine free/low sugar 24-48 hours helps me 'reset' my body from spikes in energy, followed by fatigue.

I hope you overcome this challenge and good luck.

Regards
Hunter

After reading through some of your previous posts, you indicate you've suffered from depression.  Depression can cause a severe loss of energy and extreme fatigue.

No one is able to diagnose your fatigue issues over the net.  There are a multitude of causes and would be best discussed with your health care provider.
