I think i have HIV
« on: March 24, 2010, 10:21:51 am »
Hello
this is my story 7 weeks ago i had vaginal sex protected but the condom broke, about 5-10minutes unprotected difficult to say, a few day later my throuat felt itchy and 6 days later during the night fever diarea , White spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue and nightsweats,...becomming very worried i lokked on the internet and associated this with ARS primary HIV infection, the fever stopped the next day but the nightsweats continued diarrea was harder, after 10 days i went to doctor HIV test it was negative but the symptones of primary HIV remained stifness in the neck i always feel my glands to feel if they where swollen and 4 weeks later beginning of rach, feeling dizzy in my head again to the doctor and said i had to stop thinking about it and i had to wait for the new test. I went on ski hollidays and their at one night all over the body rach and itchy, neurological disorders , my hand that went asleep,...this time i was sure i had to have HIV, went to the local doctor and said this is not HIV rach he gave me something to calm down, in 6 weeks time i have had all the HIV symtoms
If you have had all the ARS Symtons can you be sure you have HIV?
Thank you
Sandra

Sandra, your risk with the broken condom was very low. The condom protected you until it broke.

None of your symptoms are in anyway HIV-specific. And ARS symptoms do not come and go over different periods of time. If they are going to appear noticeably they come at once and are gone in a week or two.

As a precaution get tested. If you test at 6 weeks and get the negative result which I expect, then a negative at 13 weeks for a final result is all but a certainty.

Meantime get busy with other things in your life. It will help the time to pass more quickly than you may imagine is possible. And don't tell us that you're too worried to do that because that response will not fly here.

Ultimately I expect you to come out of this ok.
