KALETRA vs REYTAZ
« on: October 02, 2008, 06:33:58 pm »
I made the switch in August..And i have to say THANK GOD! the stomach issues have stopped. I also had a lot of dizzy and "weak moments" when i was on Kaletra. My Doc dismissed it as anxiety. But after the meds changed i didnt feel that anymore. I actually felt more awake and stronger, even though i do tend to get overly tired here and there.
My question is, is it possible that Reyataz wont work? I havent got my lab results in yet so im worried that i might have to go back to Kaletra or something else thats just as horrible. So just wondering if anyone was on Kaletra before and switched to Reyataz only to find out it didnt work.
Thank you!

Could you clarify for us?....You switched from Kaletra only to Reyataz only (without Norvir)?....What else are you taking?....Were you undetectable when you switched? More complete info would solicit more helpful opinions, I bet.... ;D

lol..sorry.. well i was undectible when i got off Kaletra with cd4 around 400 (I was on that combo for about 2 years). I was then switched to Reyataz with Truvada and Norivir. The First results were that my cd4 jumped to 554 and i was still undectable. So im just abit nervous to see if it stayed that way. Im hoping its good because i feel 100% times better. You know that saying, somethings are just too good to be true!

you should do well with the switch then...many people have made the same substitution because of  cholesterol or gastrointestinal issues with Kaletra. Boosted Reyataz has been shown to be just as effective and have a milder side effect profile....

Thanks for taking the time to make a nervous wreck feel better..lol
Yeah i guess i shouldnt be sweating it and instead just think positive thoughts. But if this switch continues to work i urge alot of people who are dealing with problems of Kaletra to ask your docs to make the switch also! No running to the bathrooms or feeling weak and tired all the time no matter how much sleep or exercise you get! And knowing you wont have to worry so much about bad cholesterol and lipo is just a world off your shoulders!
