Title: lymph nodes
Post by: worriedmale37 on March 01, 2008, 03:28:21 am
i got an unprotected blowjob from a prostitute a month ago. afterwards i recognized that i had dried blood in my penis. a few days later my penis got itchy and i developed white spots all over the penis. for this reason i went to a STD clinic that diagnosed it as yeast that had "gone wild". i received a treatment for it and it disappeared later. however, about a week and a half later i started feeling unwell and my lymph glands in neck and under the chin got swollen. a bit later also the lymphglands in both of my armpits got swollen and a bit achy. other than that i have had joint/muscle aches around the body. i haven't got any fever. the lymph glands are still swollen now so they have stayed that way for some two weeks now.

it appears that i got the yeast from this encounter (never had it before). could i have got HIV as well since i had some blood in my penis? could my symptoms be related to some other STD and also, can one get an influenssa or something similar from a blowjob. this incident happened in moscow.

No, you did not have a risk of contracting HIV from getting a blow job.

hi there,

i had a low risk encounter some 6 weeks ago. even though that i have got assurance that my risk was very small i have had symptoms now for 4 weeks including:

- enlarged lymph nodes in neck, under the chin, armpits
- general feeling of malaise
- joint / muscle pain
- mild flu like symptoms, no fever

i really have felt very bad for weeks now and aguess i need some reassurance that this is not likely to caused by hiv?

worried,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

You were NOT told by anyone here that your risk was "very small", you were told you had NO RISK. Big difference.

Not one person has EVER become infected from getting a blowjob and you will not be the first. It doesn't matter what sort of bloody details you want to add, you didn't have a risk and you're not seroconverting as a result of a blowjob.

Go see your doctor. Whatever is causing your problems has nothing to do with getting hiv from your blowjob - because you didn't.

hi ann,

many tks for your reply. i understand that you say that i have no risk, but still my symptoms will not go away? what other causes could cause similar symptoms? when i visited an STD clinic the meds said "i don't wanna scare you but you have to get tested in 3 months for hiv"

worried,

Sounds like the person in the clinic DID want to scare you. You don't need to test over a blowjob.

There are literally hundreds of different ailments that could cause your symptoms. You'll have to go see a doctor to find out just exactly what is causing yours. We cannot diagnose you here.

We can, however, tell you that getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Never has been, never will be, no matter what sort of details or symptoms you want to pile on your story. NO RISK.

...and if you have symptoms which are troubling you, that's something to discuss with your doctor. For sure they have nothing to do with HIV as based on what you have reported of your incident.

i booked a test for next week, that will be 7  1/2 weeks after the blowjob. despite all the assurances i'm still worried since my lymph glands just stay elevated and i feel generally ill. generally how reliable is a test at this time? what do u think could cause these troubles, does e.g. regular influensa transmit this way? also, even though i know this is repetition, does ars, if it occurs, normally come with fever?

wm,

Your test will be reliable and conclusive because you did NOT have a risk for hiv infection. Getting a blowjob is not a risk.

Take your nodes to your doctor. It's nothing to do with hiv.
