Blood Tests
« on: January 17, 2009, 03:24:13 pm »

Hello, I have been very scared in the past months because I have been having protected sex with prostitutes. I have always used a condom, but I keep feeling sick and weak, some rashes appeared in my skin,  about once every two months I have diarrhea. and I am having headaches and constant flu.

I have not tested my blood, I am afraid that it may appear HIV positive.

I am afraid that condoms that I used had a hole, or that I may drink a prostitute's breast milk.

I am very afraid, my girlfriend is now having headaches all the time, I don't know if I am infected. I have not tested, I am completely afraid that it may be possitive.
What should I do?  Do you think I have a high risk of infection?

You were never at risk of contracting HIV. Condoms are very effective in prevent HIV transmission. Had the condom failed you would have known. They do not get tiny holes in them. Breast milk is not infectious to an adult, it's only infectious to infants due to them not having a mature immune system and the amount of breast milk ingested. It's recommended that anyone who is sexually active be tested at least annually.

Expired Condom, Infected?
« Reply #3 on: February 02, 2009, 03:40:16 am »
I've had sex with one unknown HIV status woman.  That  time , the condom date was expired, and I was told that HIV particles can pass over the condom if the sex was done with the condom's date expired, is it true?   I have not talk to that girl since that time, so she may be positive.

I have also had 4 sex partners in this year, I always used condom, but I am afraid because it may had a tiny hole that I didn't see after each session.

I am very scared, some rashes appeared in my back and my leg, I have been having constant flues and feber, should I take the test? I am completely scared.  Are those situations risky?

Thank you very much, and sorry for my english, it my second language :P

24, you are worrying needlessly. If a condom fails for any reason it's quite evident that has happened. It's not about teeny tiny little holes in the condom. The whole thing ends up looking like a fringed hoop on your penis.

Avoid risk of a failing condom in the future by making sure you always use them within the indicated dates.

This time I don't see any cause for concern. We do recommend as a general rule that anyone who's sexually active ought to regularly have a full STD panel done. That means at least once a year.

Cheers.

24,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

Blood Tests
« Reply #6 on: February 03, 2009, 03:18:20 am »
I took normal blood tests with urine tests, and I got bad results in terms of my sugar and other stuff. I have reasons to believe that I may have HIV, are this regular blood tests indicating that I may have aids? Or it has nothing to do with it. Can Aids be determined by this regular blood tests?

Do I have to take and special "HIV test blood".

Thanks for taking time reading.
Sorry for my english, its not my first language.

I have merged your threads...again, please stay in this thread from now on.

sugar in your urine or in a normal Blood test has nothing to do with HIV..so no they do not indicate that you have AIDS.

They will not perform an HIV test unless you ask for one.

24,

You say you "have reasons to believe" you're hiv positive, but unless those reasons include UNPROTECTED anal or vaginal intercourse with someone of unknown or positive hiv status, then your reasoning is WRONG.

As you've been told, condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. When a condom breaks, it's obvious and you would have known.

If you don't believe us, go test and collect your negative result.
