Just asking
« on: June 01, 2006, 12:45:38 am »
To all HIV experts here need your opinion please.

Four months ago(Jan. 12, 2006) i had a sexual encounter to a transexual prostitute we did kiss, blowjob, anal sex.
The person that i had sex with undergo HIV test just recently(May 25, 2006) and tested non-reactive, in a diagnostic
center here in our country(Phils.), the type of test used is "HUMAN-R-LYMPHOTROPIC VIRUS TYPE-III TEST - Particle Agglutination"
i think it is also called Serodia right.

I know that ELISA test can give conclusive result in 13 weeks, but what about the kind of test that i mentioned above?

Now my question is, can i consider his result conclusive(after 4 months and 12 days)? Because if that is conclusive there is no need for me to take an HIV test right.

Thanks, i really need some advice here. Thanks.

George, you forgot to say that you had protected sex, at least that is what you said in the old forum. You did not have a risk, testing was not needed.

nobody is responsible for your health other than you.   Any sexually active adult should be tested at least yearly for all stds and hiv.   Over 'this' incident, there is no need to test as it was protected, but never make the mistake that you can rely on other people's tests to tell you your status.

Thanks for all ur opinion,

yes it was protected anal sex using oil-based lubricant(too bad) and re-use the condom for the 2nd attempt, the reason why i am still very concern is that after thinking several times of what happned four months ago, i am not 100% sure if the condom protected me 100% because after using the condom i just look at it for 2 seconds and the lighting in the room is dim.

Ok if still that scenario doesn't require HIV testing.
I just still want to know the the kind of test that i mentioned(HUMAN-R-LYMPHOTROPIC VIRUS TYPE-III TEST) above can give conclusive result
after four months.

I know that ELISA can give conclusive result after 3 months but what about the test that i mentioned.

Anybody familiar with that kind of HIV test.

George,

We will still be giving Time Outs to people who continue to post and post and post about non-risk situations in this new forum.

Please seek the assistance of a mental health care provider to help you get to the bottom of your hiv related anxieties. We cannot do that for you on this forum. You simply must get some face-to-face help. If it takes giving you a time out to help you to do this, I will gladly oblige.

You never had a risk of hiv infection in anything you have brought to us.

Sorry To all experts here i am here again.

Ok After 5 and half months i manage myself to get HIV test(ELISA 3rd Gen.) and came back negative.
I know that my exposure was very very very low. I just want to ask one more thing.
I also read that HIV test can give false result if someone is using IV Drug and chemo theraphy.

Ok i am not into drugs and chemo but one thing i have read from the internet that
"Herpes Infection" can also give false result when it comes to HIV test.

What is the truth behind that claim?

To all experts. Please i just need to know. thanks you very much.

In addition to what i have said all infection that compromise immune system which include people with Herpes infection can give false result in HIV testing.

Ok, I know herpes can be detected thru blood right.

But what about compromise immune system? How do i know if i have that?

Experts any response?

The answer is NO, just like Darkfiber posted. If you think you have Herpes see your doctor and be tested for it.

Thanks RapidRod and DarkFiber,

The reason why i am very concerned is that, i have read from previous post that there are things that can give false result in HIV testing:
- Using IV Drug
- Under Chemo Theraphy
- and Those with compromise immune system.

And i think Herpes infection can cause compromise immune system right or any other infection?

None of those give a false response when the test is taken at the correct time for their exposure.

Thanks RapidRod,

So my 5 1/2 month test(ELISA)  is 100% conclusive since the standard period is only 3 months.

George,

You have been told repeatedly, both in this forum and the old one, that protected intercourse is not a risk for hiv infection. Yes, I know you used oil based lube, but the condom did not break and you were never at risk.

If you read through the Welcome Thread, you would have read this.

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned. You have tested more than conclusively negative for a no risk event and if you insist on coming back to whattiff, you will be given a time out.

You are hiv negative. Keep using condoms and you will stay that way. It really is that simple.

Hi to all experts here, I cannot find my old thread so i created a new one sorry.

For those who forgot it already I have a sexual experience 6 months ago insertive anal.

I have tested negative with ELISA not sure with the generation last week(July, 27 2006).

My concern is the false negative result, because i am taking vitamins and food supplements(4 tablespoon of vigin coconut oil a day, 1000mg of berroca Vitamin C a day and 1 capsule of centrum a day). i am taking this from Nov. 2005 until now.

My concern is, Are those vitamins and supplements will make an HIV test to have false negative result?

Under no circumstances will the medications you have taken impact an HIV window period. You are reliably negative.

You have received your negative result and as long as you tested at the approved time then you are conclusively negative. In reference to your increase of appetite, I have no idea.

Is there any documented case of being infected in kissing somebody with HIV, For me it seems that it is theoretically possible right?

George,

This is the second time I've had to merge your threads. Get with the program already.

No, there is not a single documented case of kissing being a transmission route for hiv and there never will be either. It just isn't possible. Not only is saliva NOT infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.
