Severe anxiety, fear and depression
« on: June 02, 2017, 09:57:28 am »
I am a male and 37 days before, I had sex with a CSW (but she is a teacher and go with only a few people). I did protected vaginal sex with her for 4-5 minutes and then pulled out my panis out of her vagina.  After this, I put off my condom and asked her to give me a blowjob without condom. She gave me blowjob for 45 seconds to one minute. Thereafter, I again used the same condom for vaginal sex but when I started, I realized that this may be a danger so I stopped only within a minute.  No condom break. No ejaculation.

I feared so after four days of the incident, I took the girl to lab who was found hiv negative with duo test. I tested myself on 12 and 15 days with duo test, my tests were negative.  The girl has again done her duo test after 33 days which was also negative. Am I still at risk for HIV? I am dying due to anxiety and depression. Please reply. If I am at risk, when should I go for a test.

Her results mean nothing, her past means nothing and her status means nothing to you. All that matters is your own risk behavior and if it was a risk for HIV transmission.

Nothing, absolutely nothing you mentioned was a risk HIV transmission.

Move on with your life, use condoms and test at least yearly as routine for STI's including but not limited to HIV.

After 92 days of last incident, today, I went to laboratory for the tests of HIV as well as other STDs/ STIs.  All my tests i.e. HIV 1&2 Antibodies Test, HBsAg, VDRL and Antibodies test for HCV were negative/ non-reactive.  The HIV test name was as I mentioned above but I do not know whether it was a second or third generation test but does this make some difference in my status or my tests are conclusive?
My problem is that after three weeks of this incident, I started feeling pain in my neck which is still there till date.  After starting the neck pain, I started feeling like something has stuck in my neck.  Do you think this may be related to HIV or some other STD/STI.
I have already discussed about this to my GP and at the first instance, he referred me to meet with ENT specialist who checked my neck and said there is no infection. He did CRP test which was OK.  After giving me medicines for 1 month, he said that I should meet with psychiatrist and there is no infection in my neck. He gave me some medicines for anxiety for 15 days. After starting this medicine, my problem was OK by the time I was taking the medicines but the pain has returned now again.  My GP also says that I should meet a psychiatrist.  What do you suggest my neck pain may be due to HIV, some other STI/STD or this may be due to anxiety. .  Apart from this,  there was no problem like fever, diarrhea or anything else. Kindly reply. My test results after three months are final or I need more testing?

Firstly you had no HIV risk so no surprise that from this no risk scenario was negative.

2nd or 3rd gen test makes no difference the 3 month mark is conclusive. You do not have HIV from this incident and your symptoms are not HIV related.

Continue to work with your primary doctor to treat whatever is making you ill and I hope you feel better soon. To be honest I agree with your doctors to see someone face to face to help you with your anxiety and irrational fears so you can work on moving on with your life.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim
