Title: A "fun" month ahead.
Post by: mitch777 on January 28, 2013, 01:33:21 pm
February looks to be full of fun with six different doctors appointments.

Psychiatrist-Update her on everything including how I am dealing with Amitriptyline.
(also want to ask her if Methylphenidate might help relieve some of the extra brain fog issues due to the antidepressant)

ID doc-Find out the last blood test results and get a new prescription to get me off of Atripla. (i think it will be Isentress/Truvada)
Find out what to do about my high red blood cell count.
(maybe get a pint of blood sucked out)
Discuss other old issues and hope that there won't be any new ones.

Endocrinologist-First visit to find out more about my odd testosterone behavior.

Neurologist-Catch up on the lack of progress about my daily chronic headaches.
(i've almost given up on a solution... at least from him)

PCP-Discuss the possibility of seeing a ENT doc to find out if a deviated septum correction might, just might, help with the headaches.

Neuropsychiatrist-Taking a neuropsychological test. Ugh!
From what I read, it can take 2-6 hours.
Hope it will better document some of my memory and cognitive problems.
(SSDI seems to need documentation beyond belief, so i intend to pile it on)
(my attorney is sending me to her, not SSDI)

It has gotten to the point of starting a separate file folder to put info and questions in for each doctor so that I don't forget.

See my dentist and eye doc in March.

Hope my GI doc doesn't feel too left out of the party. ;D

Maybe we should just take a nice long vacation and cancel all of these appointments? :)

m.

Hey Mitch, yep they LOVE paper-work, get as much documentation as you can, also make copies and take lots of notes, I kid you not, you'll need all of them, and then some too  ;)

Geez, Mitchypoo, that's quite a litany of appointments.  Hope you get some good results / answers.

Are you trying to give Miss P a run for the money on med appointments?   ;)

Mitchell would need to sprinkle that month with twice weekly physical therapy to rise to my level. She'd never make it.

I hope they at least throw in a nice prostate exam for your enjoyment.   ;D

Indeed. When was your last colonoscopy and/or anoscopy, Mitchell?

1) denb- thanks for the SSDI advice! need all of the help possible. :)

2) buckmark- thank you and no, this is one of those crowns that i never want to take away from miss p. :)

3) wolfie- i think i may be in luck with the endrocrinologist with a prostate exam. :)

4) miss p.- i believe my next colonoscopy is due next year. why did you ask?
worried about my GI doc feeling left out? :)

Just got off the phone with the neuropsychologist.
It was going to be a 10 hour+ test over 3 days with a written report at a cost of $4400.00!
($3000.00 out of pocket because she is "out of network" with the insurance co.)
Found another "in network" doc and it will cost me nothing! :o

Hi Mitch,
I hope it's going well with SSDI. Have you heard anything? I guess I'm fortunate that I got it in '05 and got it on my 1st try. It seems to be a lot harder to get it now.
Hugs from Provincetown, Deiby
