I Need Some Help, Terrified
« on: February 03, 2009, 01:15:15 pm »
Hi,

I know that the possibility of transmission is very unlikely but for peace of mind I need to know why. I know I should not be involved in any sexual activity if I can not handle it. Which won't be for a while. I recently gave a hand job to someone. I am almost sure I had no cuts on my hand. I didn't see any precum, but that doesn't make me believe there wasn't any, and before he finished I made him finish himself off so I would not come in contact with and of his semen. A day later I found a cut on my hand less than a fourth of an inch. I am not sure if it was there before. It's a very small cut but it stung when sweat and lotion hit it, which makes me think if it was there the day before I would have noticed when the lube hit it. Is there ANY possibility of contracting HIV through his pre cum to my small cut. Would that be possible? The only reason why I resorted to posting was because there are so many sites with so many different answers. Some say YES, some say NO. And I capitalized because those sites are so sure of their answer. Someone please help me.

Someone told me that there is no risk whatsoever no matter what I add to to the situation. Even if the small cut rubbed against the precum or the tip of the penis, there is no risk in this scenario. Is this correct? Please, I'm terrified.

Yes the information you received is correct. Masturbation is not a risk of contracting HIV.

Healing,

The cut makes no difference. You're not going to become infected even if hiv positive semen did get into your cut. Mutual masturbation is NOT a risk for hiv infection no matter what sort of details you can come up with.

You had no risk.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple. Read through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
