hiv testing Ann and Andy
« on: June 22, 2011, 09:11:41 am »
Good afternoon good people,

I had possibly exposure 5th may this year with prostitute (HIV status unknown). No real sexual activities such as vaginal, anal or oral sex.It was all about Mutual masturbation and not even that. She touched just one time my penis with same hand that she was masturbating herself, and then she was playing with my scrotums for short time until I finished. My concern is what if she had some infected vaginal fluid on her hands while she was touching my uncircumcised penis head and scrotums?I m married and very worried for having sex with out protection with my wife.Tomorow will be 7 weeks since that happened. Any ideas? Test or not? What to do?

I started to feel pain on my neck lymph nodes couple days ago when I m moving my head left/right but I know that brain is power full thing and can be just in my head. How accurate would be Elise test after 7 weeks after this possibly exposure, please? Of course if we say that lady was HIV positive.

I would like to hear Andy, Rapid and of course Ann what they think about this specially.

Every respond would be greatly appreciated

TND,

Mutual masturbation is absolutely NOT a risk for hiv infection, not even is she was hiv positive and not even if her hands were dripping in vaginal fluids.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER MUTUAL MASTURBATION, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

TND,

No risk even if you got some of her vaginal fluids in your urethra, even if she is hiv positive.

The only proven, true sexual risks for hiv infection are unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection.

It really is that simple!

Wauuu, it is really simple
Why then people making such a big deal about HIV transmitttion, it is probably fear. Have you ever heard or seen that somebody has got infected through mutual masturbation via vaginal fluids in touch with urethra?

Thanks and I really appreciate your answers and time that you have spend answering my questions.

Of course not. Had it happen, we couldn't say it wasn't a risk.

Just one more question, please

I read some answers from HIV experts "body.com" saying that HIV transmitting is possible when infected vaginal fluid comes in to urethra, and the said that is no good idea to use infected person cum as lube in mutual masturbation. There is one case where some African reported that he was using infected persons precum as lube and he got infected, that was back in 1981.

I know this not going to change your guys opinion but this is something that can make me nervous if I let that happens :) and not just me

You right sir.

There is a lot of different info

So what would be your suggestion? Test or not. I know that 6 weeks after (high risk) exposure is good indication but this is not even close that. Should I move on with out testing?

TND,

If you need to test for you peace of mind, then go test, collect your negative result and get on with your life.

You did not have a risk for hiv infection.

TND,

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected with hiv will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days. A six week test must be confirmed at the three month point - when there has actually been a risk but YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK!!! - but is highly unlikely to change.

You can test at any time over this NO RISK situation and it will be conclusive.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or NO RISK SITUATION, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

TND,

For the last time, YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK FOR HIV INFECTION!!!

The fact that this woman is hiv positive does not change that fact. All the risk assessments we give here are based on the assumption that the other person is hiv positive.

I'm giving you that time out you've been warned about. Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.

TND,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

As we've repeatedly told you, you did NOT have a risk for hiv infection.

This means that your hiv test is conclusive. You do not need further testing over this incident.

You do NOT have hiv!

If you think you can use this forum to continually question your NO RISK, CONCLUSIVE NEGATIVE situation, think again. You will be quickly given another Time Out if you continue to post over this.

Please consider yourself warned!!!

Ann I do aplogize , I asked a simple question because of my info I have read so much about this things,an I know that I have no HIV concerns and I m not going to be tested over this No risk situations.I was wondering is it realy possible to detect antibodies that early? This is the place where I should be able to learn something not be banned on my simple question, right?I did not want to bother you guys with my questions after 28 days. The fact that I WAS stressed about that is nothing new.The world is stressed about HIV.

Thank you for your respond, and have great day
