Hello,
I had an unprotected oral sex with a sex worker about ten days ago. A few days after the event, I learned that she has gum disease and it bleeds frequently. I don't know whether there was blood or not during the event.
What is the risk of transmission? I don't remember but, what if there were sores on the top of my penis?
Thank you all.
* I forgot to mention. I was the receiver side.
-
Zero. Saliva has over a dozen different enzyemes and proteins that inhibit HIV transmission.
-
Thank you for fast reply.
One more question, is it still zero even if visible blood in saliva?
-
Yes, still zero.
-
Thank you so much.
-
Rod is right on about that. Zero risk. Give it up and get on with your life.
-
Thanks Andy.

Hello,
Last night I had sex with a sex worker. She gave me a hard hand sex without condom and we did oral sex and vaginal sex with condom.
Today, I saw a little blood on my underwear and I realized a small wound on my penis (I guess it occurred during hand sex) near to my testicles. I don't know whether it was covered by condom or not.
What is the transmission risk? Do I need PEP?
Thank you.

Hi,
First of all, please follow our rule and keep all of your entries in this same thread. I have merged your previous thread in with your latest question. Thanks for your cooperation with that.
Now, your latest question. You used a condom for intercourse which is exactly what you should be doing. They provide very effective protection. That nick or whatever you have near your testicles is not a risk for HIV transmission. HIV is a fragile virus and is not transmitted in that manner. You don't have to worry about oral sex. Receiving uprotected oral is absolutely not a risk. Giving oral is theoretically a risk, but in the real world of HIV we know that your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.
I don't see any need for testing nor for further concern on your part.
We do advise anyone who is sexually active to at least annually have a full STD panel done. Other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV.

Thank you Andy. I will be more careful about the rules.
Last question, If vaginal secretions have contact with that fresh wound, is there still no risk?
-
The vaginal secretions which could contain HIV if the woman is positive are far up in the vaginal cavity in the cervical area. Your testicles would not be coming into contact with that area.
Nope, not a risk.

Thank you so much Andy :)

You're welcome. And keeping using those condoms everytime for vaginal and anal intercourse for very effective protection.

Hello,
Yesterday night I had sex with a girl that I don't know she is HIV+ or not. We used condom. 2 minutes after intercourse I washed my penis with soap. Now I see this link and I feel so bad.

Should I start pep?
-
PEP? Absolutely not!
You used a condom during intercourse which is exactly what you are supposed to do. They provide very effective protection against the transmission of HIV.
You also need to stop surfing the net for "information" that will only feed your worst fears and all to no good purpose.
You did not have a risk for HIV. Keep using those condoms everytime you have intercourse and you will be well protected against the sexual transmission of HIV. End of story.

Thank you so much for your reply Andy :)

You're welcome. Just get on with life now and be a condom user.
