                       ojo.              Hi all!…living with hiv is not just to be disciplined by taking your meds and keeping your ID doctors visists, it’s also keep living with everyday problems like work, illnesses, family members and friends passing, etc., dfc.


Unfortunately, a few days ago, my aister got terrible news, she was diagnosed with breast cancer (ILC), so bad that she got to go through the removal of both breast. After that, the oncologist will decides if my sister will need quimio or radio therapy or both…she is a strong woman but I can’t say the same about her husband, we’ll see what happens, i will keep you pisted.


Mow about me, I will have to get my good eye stiched up, couple of stitches, to close a little bit my eyelids so I don’t lose so often my special contact lens (cornea), and now that I’m seeing the plastic surgeon, I will talk to him about removing my blind eye once and for all, I guess it’s time to get rid of the pain that I’ve been living for a long time due to the blind eye…wish us luck and I will keep you pisted…hugs

Hola a todos!… Espero que no los aburra con mi

Ayer fui a ver al especialista de la córnea y definitivaménteme cerraré el ojo, los párpados, un par de puntadas, para que no se me siga saliendo mi lente de contacto especial que uso para proteger mi Cornias además, me hace ver un poco mejor. Les explico, Este es un lente de contacto gigante que cubre toda la córnea, no es como un lente de contacto regular. Mi córnea está muy dañada de tantas cirugías ya que me dio retinitis causada por el citomegalovirus. Hagan de cuenta que mi Cornia qué mi Cornias no está lisa si no tiene o como baches y cada vez que cierro mis párpados me causa dolor entonces el lente hace que la superficie de mi córnea sea lisa y no me cause dolor al cerrar y abrir los ojos. Esto también, tanta cirugía me ha ocasionado que mi ojo éste Dzeko lo cual es muy malo para la córnea. Bueno estoy esperando que me programe la cirugía para hacerme dicho procedimiento y probablemente le pida al cirujano que me saque mi ojo ciego de una vez por todas para dejar de sufrir de terribles dolores de cabeza  y ojo. Creo que ha llegado el tiempo, ya después planearemos el uso de una prótesis…
Seguiremos en contacto y recuerden a los que nos leen y no se han hecho una prueba de VIH, y son activo sexualmente, lo que quiere decir es que tienen una actividad sexual muy frecuente y con diferentes parejas, hágase la prueba de VIH antes que sea demasiado tarde y tengan que pasar por lo que pasillo por lo que estoy pasando yo.

I think you should talk to a specialist, ophthalmologist. Having said that, I am using Cialis daily .5 mg to help empty my bladder. I talk to my cornea specialist, and he said that I shouldn’t be worry about losing my vision all though, I’m already legally blind, but not due to Cialis. my best advice is to talk to the doctor so you can get the right information. I don’t recall when my cornea specialist told me about who is a risk of losing their eyesight using this kind of medication. Best and please keep us posted so we can learn from your experience

Hiya,

Congrats on finding someone, but sorry to hear about your boyfriend's reactive test result.

1)
Kissing and receiving oral sex isn't an HIV risk to you.

2)
Kissing and receiving oral sex isn't an HIV risk to you.

Now, when your boyfriend starts treatment and then has a suppressed viral load (below 200 copies) for six+ months and they continue to take their meds, they can not pass on HIV sexually. See https://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=71864.0

Your boyfriend's viral load has not been suppressed for 6+ months yet, so could consider PrEP as an additional layer of HIV prevention should you wish to engage in other sexual activities with your boyfriend, also you could consider using condoms or a combination of condoms & PrEP.

Hope that answers your questions and I wish you both all the best.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

I met a boy last month and after a few encounters I was very impressed and he became my boyfriend. We engaged in a lot of kissing (NO anal sex, NO oral sex). Before we were ready to have sex, we both took a rapid HIV antibody test and he was positive. We were both very shocked in the moment.

1. Our only previous behavior was kissing, does this mean that I am not at risk and no further hiv testing is needed?

2. I don't want to break up just because of hiv. But he never received antiviral treatment. Does this mean we shouldn't have sex for 6 months after he starts taking the pill? Can we continue to kiss or receive oral sex?

Estas preocupando innecesario, no hay riesgo de VIH, a menos que hayas tenido otros encuentros sexuales que no hayas mencionado aquí.

Adelante con su vida y como eres sexualmente activo, hágase la prueba para detectar el VIH y las ITS por lo menos una vez al año
